Almaza Jewlers is a wonderful, family owned jewelry store located in the heart of Rice Village. They design all of their jewelry in-house and put love and passion into every piece. I took my fiancée’s engagement ring in to replace the center diamond with a larger one. From the moment we stepped inside, they treated us like family. It took about two weeks to adjust the ring and replace the diamond...and all I can say is that it is the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. I have found my jewelry family for life.

Lydia (the owner's wife) is EXTREMELY unprofessional! My platinum ring kept bending and I came by several times for an explanation. I was chastised and blamed each time; I wear this ring <4 hours per week so there is nothing I do on a day-to-day that causes such significant damage. Lydia refused to to acknowledge a very visible issue with my ring, would not call in the jeweler in to take a look / fix it (in fact he seemed to be avoiding me). Other jewelers told me it was likely they re-used melted down platinum. Lydia admitted other customers come back to have their platinum products fixed and, without prompting, OFFERED TO MELT DOWN THE PLATINUM of my ring and give it to me when I was going elsewhere to re-set it!!!! Do not waste your $. Their daughter was super compassionate when I came in the first time, but no longer works there.

Family owned, extremely friendly and very knowledgeable staff. Very pleased with our experience. Took in my late grandparents' wedding rings to be resized and replated, so that we can now utilize them and give them a new life, they did a wonderful job servicing the rings. They produce custom pieces and offer a unique selection of natural gemstones. Support local business! Thanks Almaza Update: well, I have mixed feelings... I tried the ring on after I picked it up, put it in storage for a few months... then wore it twice, for maybe a total of 2 hours... next thing I know, a diamond goes missing. They did agree to replace the diamond; HOWEVER, the original diamonds are very brilliant and they sparkle beautifully... the diamond they used as a replacement is obviously a mismatch- dull, no shine, it looks oddly situated, too. I'm sad, as I feel this should have never happened. If everything had been checked, how could a total of maybe 2.5 hours of wearing a ring that had never experienced a diamond loss, suddenly... loses a diamond. They claimed to have checked everything over... Disappointing.

I confirm the reviews on here about this store and Lidya (the owner), extremely unprofessional. Ruined a watch for me, and when i go back to ask it to be fixed, they dodge the responsibility. I changed a battery, after a week stopped working, Lidya told me that I must have changed the battery at another shop since my last visit. Deflect and dodge. Then went back to fix the band because it broke again, dodged and deflected, saying it was too old. Battery stopped working, again dodged and deflected. Went to Tag Huer, said the battery was bad and the band is a very easy fix (which they fixed on the spot). All that aside, its not the unprofessionalism, its the racist comments she made to me and constantly interrupting while talking. She is truly a low-life, with no ethical values, character or moral comprehension. Simply trash. So sad that what appears to be a nice lady harbors racist views. Would not recommend anybody go there. Lousy craftsmanship, poor behavior and racism.

I had my wife's engagement ring and wedding band made here. They do absolutely phenomenal work! They also are 100% transparent about what they're doing and do a excellent job of explaining every step of the process. They did a custom design for us, and it came out even better than we expected, and we already thought the mock-ups looked amazing. I've already recommended them to friends who wanted jewelry made for all sorts of occasions.

This is a wonder, trustworthy company that genuinely cares about their clients. They show this through actions- not just words! I brought in several priceless pieces a few years ago for cleaning and resizing. From the minute I walked into the store, I knew I was in good hands...they treated me like family and were extremely knowledgable..answering every question I had throughly. The price was fair and the work was beautiful! About 6 months ago, I came in to get a couple of diamonds reset on my ring. its a 100 year old ring and a chain store suggested I do so, as "a couple of the diamonds were about to fall out". I brought it to Almaza for a second opinion (the only opinion i'd trust). I left it there overnight and when they called me to tell me I could pick it up, they told me the diamonds were NOT about to fall out and the setting was in good shape. I picked up the ring which had been examined and then beautifully cleaned. They didn't charge me anything-- Gestures like this make this company stand out above and beyond from the rest. Even if I move out of Houston, I'll still be a customer for life!

I got my husband's beautiful new wedding band from Almaza. It was an amazing experience and I was treated like family. We are thrilled with how this handmade ring came out. We'll be using this sweet family store for our jewelry shopping from now on.

We originally struggled to find a jeweler that would re-size my engagement ring until we came across Almaza Jewelers. My ring was quickly re-sized and we were so impressed by our experience that we came back to order our wedding bands. They both came in far before we needed them and were lovely. Customer service has been wonderful throughout our visits, and we will return with any future jewelry needs we have. Highly, highly recommend.

I visited Almaza Jewelers to have a ring appraised. The lady assisting me was extremely kind and giving of her time. I felt a bit embarrassed because I was sure the ring was fashion jewelry (and it was) but they made me feel like a valued customer. Thank you.

My son needed to get sized for ordering a ring online. Despite us not looking to purchase anything, the employees were still very welcoming and helped us with his sizing and even discussed the other factors to consider such as type of ring, heat, time of year, etc. They had beautiful jewelry and would definitely go back for future purchase.

I’ve been an honored Almaza Jeweler’s customer since the early 1980s, when the store was located in the tunnel beneath Transco Tower. Ziad Noshie is one of the most talented, hard-working artists I’ve ever met, obsessed with beauty not only in all things he collects, but also in the incredible array of colored stones, pearls, corals, opals, turquoise, and the most intricate pieces of antique and contemporary art glass, which he sets in precious metals by hand at his jeweler’s bench, bringing to life his own fantastic designs. Plotinus once wrote, “He who beholds beauty becomes beautiful,” and whenever I visit this store, walking around to see all the pieces Ziad has created, I am beautiful.
