Without question, best gym option in the greater Heights area. It’s fresh and clean, doesn’t smell like boo boo. The owners are there all the time and are, legit, 2 of the best and most genuine people you’ll ever meet. They offer free trial to check out the gym too. I can’t another gym that will let you check it out for free anymore. Highly recommend - worth your time to check out.

My husband and I absolutely LOVE this gym, almost as much as we love the owners, Jourdan & Nate! 😊❤️ We attended their previous gym and fell in love with how passionate they are about their customers, how smart they are when thinking about classes/ the right equipment/ the culture/environment! Not sure how they get it so right, but it is literally perfect. We moved further away, so we tried joining other gyms, but it didn’t work. We appreciated even more about how the owners work to build a perfect environment that keeps their customers motivated for a healthy lifestyle. They are exactly what we look for when choosing a smaller/boutique gym feel. The new place is massive and absolutely gorgeous! It was a no brainer that we would join again. This gym is great to smash your goals, while being in a beautiful aesthetically pleasing and safe/motivating environment. Plus they jam with the music! So thankful we found Illuminate! I have lost about 15 lbs since joining last year and looking to stay consistent with goals.

This gym is fantastic. I was staying in Houston for a wedding and found this gym online so I could work out during my trip. The staff were super professional/awesome and treated me like a member from the start. They even remembered my name and why I was in town! The gym itself is phenomenal. It’s a wide open space with great air movement and it has all the equipment you need and nothing you don’t. It wasn’t too crowded and all the people were friendly. If I lived in Houston I’d get a membership asap. Appreciate y’all and look forward to seeing you again on a future trip to Houston!

IllumiNate has been one of the most welcoming and friendly Gyms I have been to in a while. The owners Nate and Jourdan learned my name immediately when I first started going there. They are both super cool and helpful if you need help learning a new machine. I definitely fell in love with this type of camaraderie. I canceled my la fitness membership and joined with them! I’d rather support two amazing business owners than a big corporate gym.

One of the best gyms around! The gym is a warehouse style home and the atmosphere is lively and the gym has all the things you need for all your workouts! I consider this one of the best hardcore gyms in Houston. The people there are all very nice and the owners of the gym make you feel at home and are so nice! Some of the nicest people I’ve ever meet!

Most complete gym in the Houston Heights! This gym is open 24hours and has every piece of equipment you could ask for. The owners are very friendly and are always ready to lend a helping hand. They are constantly reinvesting in the business, buying new equipment, to ensure the best for their members and guests. Highly recommend!

There are a few affordable gyms with top of the line equipment in Houston... and none of them have A/C. illuminate has every niche (and actually effective) machine you can think of with 24hr access, good air-conditioning, and towel service. This is Houston and those things aren't luxuries, they're necessary. Nate and the Jourdan are great, pricing is better than gyms with worse equipment and snobbier environments; this is a cool spot and a cool community.

I cannot say enough good things about IllumiNate. I have been a chain gym member (24 hr, LA, fitness connection etc) for years and was very hesitant to join a local boutique gym. Well after being a member for nearly 2 months, i can say it is worth the extra splurge. You can tell this gym was built and designed by fellow gym enthusiasts, like myself. I appreciate the environment the kind owners, Nate and Jordan, have created. The layout, equipment, and small details have all been carefully executed. The employees/owners take the time to know their members and always make an effort to say hello/bye as you walk in/out. I truly look forward to going to the gym not only for my workouts, but also for the people. Take this as your sign to leave those overly crowded gyms that could care less about your health and wellness. You won’t regret it!!

Illuminate Heights is an amazing gym! Not only is the equipment brand new, good quality, clean and organized, but the staff and owners are AWESOME! Nate and Jourdan are great people that are obviously passionate and very knowledgeable about fitness. Their enthusiasm and high spirits were contagious as soon as the workouts started! I did a fitness program at illuminate heights over the course of 1 month. The program included workouts (at least 3 per week) and a meal plan. At the end of those 4 weeks, I'd lost 5% BODY FAT!!! That was incredible! And that had all to do with the workouts and meals that Nate and Jourdan thoughtfully curated. The intensity of the workouts was perfect for me. I am pretty naturally athletic, so many exercises come with ease to me. But Nate and Jourdan (especially Jourdan ;) ) would push me to go harder, give me more weight, etc., which was what I needed!! And although it was group workouts, it had the feel of personal training based on the way they both paid attention to the needs of each individual. Nate was also very helpful when it came to recovery and nutrition. Overall, GREAT experience. I'm sad that I'm moving and won't get to continue working out here. But 10/10 recommend!

Great place to workout out, the gym is always clean and it is always looking amazing. Nate is always very polite and always around. The gym is by far the best gym within the loop, machines are always working and they target the muscles really nicely, they do not have the regular machines you see in other gyms, and there are plenty of racks and some powerlifting/weightlifting stations too.

I've been going to Illuminate to workout for almost a year. It's easily the best gym I've ever joined. They have a great variety of machines and free weights and the place is normally pretty clean. One thing in particular that is nice that they have are the 2 deadlifting platforms. The atmosphere is good and people are nice. One thing I would recommend is noise cancelling headphones if you want to listen to your own music as the music can be loud some days (depends on the time you go, most days it's fine). The only bad thing I can think of about this place is that it can and will get very crowded in the afternoon/evenings, but that's most gyms around the area, so it's to be expected. To Nate and Jourdan, keep doing what you're doing. It's been great.

Joining Illuminate and having it be one of my home gyms was the best decision I've made. I love that its 24hr access and I appreciate that the gym is dog friendly (if your dog is well behaved.) Most people recognize my dog before they see me (and I'm ok with that). Nate and Jourdan are also very nice and friendly. Overall culture of the gym is fine, I have no complaints- most members here are respectful and nice but of course there's always a few outliers.

Great gym for a relaxed workoutout. It's great if you're looking into a gym to get a quick workout in. Really nice and clean atmosphere. Everything is organized, and you can find cleaning stations to wipe before using any equipment.

Great and brand new gym here in the Heights! Commercial equipment and locally owned. Both owners Nate and Jourdan are very personable and easy to talk to. It's admirable to see how passionate they are at what they do and they are both extremely knowledgeable so definitely recommend their personal training if you're looking for a trainer. 100% check them out and you won't be disappointed.

Clean, well lit and all the equipment in top top shape. It’s not noisy or to jam packed either. Been working with my trainer Justice there and the experience been wonderful. Would recommend to others.

There is no gym in Houston, especially indside the loop quite like Illuminate. The gym is always very clean and the vibe is always great for all. The owners, Nate and Jourdan are always very kind and cool while leading by example, and running this place for the members and not the other way around like a lot of other places. I really can't recommend this place enough for any level or goal you may have.

Gym Closed? Illuminate Heights Said: Hold My Protein Shake! From the second I walked into Illuminate Heights, right after my old gym shut down out of nowhere, I felt this super welcoming vibe. Huge shoutout to the staff and the wonderful owners, Jourdan and Nate, for that. I gotta say, it didn’t take long for me to notice the personal touches Jourdan and Nate add to the place. Nate, for instance, remembered my name after just one meeting, something that blew me away and was definitely not the norm at my old gym. Being someone who hits the gym pretty regularly, I was stoked to find a great variety of equipment here. Those plate-loaded machines have seriously upped my workout game, bringing in a fresh and challenging angle to my routine. Plus, the place is always clean, making each workout session a clean and healthy experience. Big thanks to Jourdan and Nate! I can’t wait for all the awesome workouts that await at Illuminate Heights.

This is the best gym experience in the Heights bar none. Large gym, all new equipment, and a great staff with Nate and Jourdan at the helm. It’s not crowded due to oversold memberships like LA Fitness or 24 Hour either. You can access the gym after hours and it’s conveniently located near Shepard and I-10. I’m looking forward to many years to come working out here. Check it out! You won’t be disappointed.

I really enjoyed my time at illuminate. My trainer was very knowledgeable. She was however, not very understanding of my health issues and I ended up with a pretty severe injury as a consequence of one of our training sessions. I think the last straw for me was when she posted extreme political content on her public Instagram that she had encouraged me to follow. Nate and Jourdan are wonderful and supportive however, and that is why I am giving four stars.

We tried out this gym right after it opened last year since we live close by even though I had a membership at another gym. Nate and Jourdan welcomed us in and gave us a tour and trial pass. After a couple visits, I cancelled my other gym membership IMMEDIATELY. Nate and Jourdan took the time to actually learn our names and greeted us personally each time we came back. I didn't expect this, but they were so over the top nice and welcoming. My wife had an illness soon after we joined and could not come to the gym for several months. Nate and Jourdan ACTUALLY REMEMBERED and asked about her often! Not to mention the gym is very clean and well maintained with plenty of options for equipment. I have had gym memberships for 10+ years at various places, but none of them had an atmosphere like this gym. Nate and Jourdan are good people, and it's obvious they have attracted customers who value that mindset.

I’ve never really been into gym life, but this place is amazing! The equipment is nice quality, gym is clean and Nate and Jordan have great energy. Both are so positive and welcoming. I may just become a gym junkie yet… 🙂

Best gym, best staff, best equipment, best prices. Hands down. I moved to Houston a year ago and bounced around many overcrowded and overpriced gyms for about 8 months before finding this gem. If you’re a former/current athlete or veteran, this is the gym for you. No frills and no gimmicks at Illuminate, which sets itself apart from the other “athlete” gyms in the area that charge outrageous prices, have ridiculous contracts, and waste your time as they push overpriced/useless products on you.

I came across illuminate heights when I was looking for a gym in Houston. I was looking for a gym with a good sense of community, clean equipment, classes with motivating coaches, and a good location. Illuminate Heights had all of those things! The owners, Nate and Jourdan, hosted an 8 week challenge that my husband and I participated in. The challenge composed of a cardio component, daily fitness HIIT and strength classes, and a meal plan to follow. At the beginning of the challenge we sat down with Coach Nate and set a goal we would work towards over the 8 weeks. My goal was to drop 5% body fat over the 8 weeks and with the support, guidance, and encouragement of Nate and Jourdan, I accomplished my goal. I have never felt better about myself, body image, and physical health. Now I am more motivated than ever to maintain my results at Illuminate Heights. If you are looking for an amazing gym I highly recommend you check out this gym! You won't regret it!!

This is one of the best gyms in Houston! From unique equipment, ample space, clean facilities and awesome owners, it is a one stop shop. I have taken advantage of all of their amenities (including the awesome massage service) and cannot find one complaint - at all! I like the unique equipment tailored towards all goals - not just the generic items. The vibes are always upbeat and positive and the environment is always friendly and welcoming. I feel like there is a new piece of equipment or something new for the members almost weekly! I cannot brag enough about this gym and it is reasonably priced! A definite must!

Great gym that is open 24/7. High quality equipment for every muscle group, other gym goers are friendly and strong so great motivation and vibes all around. The owners are also great and understanding, moving out of state in a few months and they already have my membership set to auto cancel, IMO other gyms try to get every dime out of you. Great place for everyone!
