GCR did a complete renovation of a small house that had not been lived in for many years. Scott gave a detailed written estimate. The work and his crew of workers were beyond my expectations. All the crew was very polite and accommodating. I always got notified of the time and date they would be arriving and it was wonderful that they were always very prompt and worked hard. I am now living in the small house and love everything they did. It was beyond my expectations. I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again.

We recently purchased a second home in Galveston that needed updates to the back deck, front porch, and a new fence. We chose GCR to do the work because of the detailed professional estimate we received from Scott. As promised, his dedicated crew showed up on time everyday until the project was finished with him stopping by regularly to inspect the work. If you need to remodel and live in GCR Builders service area, use this company. We called Scott Barker, the owner, originally to re-texture the ceiling in the living, dining and kitchen of our second home in Bayou Vista. We then asked him to install new tile flooring, Silestone countertops, marble mosaic backsplash, farmhouse sink and faucet for our kitchen. I mention the materials we used because it was all very labor-intensive to install well. His group did a fabulous job. His cost estimate for the job was accurate and he completed the job in a little less than a month after we picked out the materials we wanted. With us living and working in north Texas, we needed someone like Scott who kept us well-informed (but not excessively so) even though we weren’t there during any of the work. By the time we saw the work in person, it was complete and clean and exactly what we wanted. We plan to use him again to redo our bathroom in the same house. Update: We have used GCR Builders again and again after this first post for structural repairs and painting. Like the first job, he provides quality work on time and with minimum fuss. The owner, Scott Barker, is ALWAYS responsive and dependable before, during and after each project. He provides accurate, detailed estimates that he holds to, clearing any additional work with us first. His group painted the entire outside of our bayside house, decks, stairs and all, in June-July of 2022 and the results were perfect. As before, we were not there for most of the paint job but saw the exacting work they did at the end to clean up smudges and mistakes, like around the white trims of our doors and windows and white tubing along our upstairs and stairway railings. We will use GCR Builders for any repairs or remodeling we do our Bayou Vista home.

We hired GCR for a bathroom remodel. Scott provided a very detailed estimate, with drawings, so we knew exactly what we were getting. The men on his crew were professional, efficient and nice. Scott was easy to reach, and very accommodating to any changes we requested along the way. The tile work was beautiful. We have hired several contractors (for new home construction, for remodeling, for post-Ike repairs, etc). Most of them were good, but GCR has been the best, exceeding our expectations. I recommend without reservation.

Very satisfied with the work performed by GCR. We partially remodeled our hall bath (floor, shower tile, shower pan, shower fixtures and toilet) and love the outcome. Crew was friendly and professional. What I really liked was the fact that there is a dedicated crew that shows up every day until the project is completed. We hired Scott & his team to remodel our 1937 hall bathroom. once again Scott and his team did excellent work on my home. they replaced all the rotted facial boards, and fixed the flashing and sealed the chimney and roof and painted and installed new copper gutters. Previous contractor was overwhelmed with the job of removing and replacing a major portion of our kitchen /dining room floor that had dry rotted, My family was living above a dirt floor on pier and beam using plywood laid down as a floor And towels stuffed in the open spaces. GCR was able to meet the challenge - very skilled carpentry, very professional and experienced- I highly recommend and will not hesitate to use again. I have a contractor I can trust.

GCR Builders was very professional from the first visit when Scott came out to go through the repairs needed to the siding and paint on our house. I believe that their pricing was fair and they over delivered with both communications and execution of the work that they performed. They finished the work within the time-frame promised even though there were a few rain days. I will definitely hire them again for future work on our house.
