Why did we get treated differently? Was this because we were Asian? !!!!! Our family planned to join this YMCA location so we came to ask couple of questions about the family fee and check out their facility. The front guy didn't even look at us while answering our questions. He kept looking at the computer typing and seem not really caring. There was another lady who standing right there also with a not very welcoming attitude but at least she kind of stepped in and help answer our questions. At first, we thought this was just typical bad customer service so we did not want to be bothered much with their attitude. Then we asked if we could have a look around the facility since we have planned to have our kid join their swimming class. They agree and told us we could. Great! Then we were like wandering around by ourselves, checking the place out again BY OURSELF. Like, stick our head into different rooms, guessing oh what is this room about. We were upset but still thought well! maybe this was just the way they have done it here. So cool! Then on our way our. We saw the lady who we talked to earlier giving another family very details touring showing them around, explaining everything to them without them even asking. And why did I say we felt like we got treated differently because it happened to be a white family ( the YMCA lady was also white). However, trying not to have any wrong idea that we might have. We came to her and ask what would we need to do to have someone give us a tour like this? Did we need to make an appointment? Did they have an appointment? Why the differences? (The family was nice enough to ask if we wanted to join them. Thank you for your kindness.) The YMCA lady at this point with a more professional and friendly manner said that no, they did not have an appointment, we didn't also need to make one. And if we wanted we could ask. No ma'am! You were there and didn't even bother to move an inch to offer showing us around. She then told us we could ask the guy in the front for a tour. (The guy was not even at the front anymore :))) How could you let two non-membership people (seem like we were the only 2 Asians at the time too) walk alone around your facility with no care? Now you acted like we were the ones who didn't ask. Then we walked away, tried not to ruin the other family tour, and heard the lady said have a nice day :))) You must be kidding?!! You didn't care earlier. Why now?! Who would want to just walk around like that?! This was our first time ever at YMCA. But we have never been to any gyms that just let you walk on your own like that. On the positive side. We are so happy that our kids were not there. We couldn't bear the thought of our kids might be treated like that if they were there. 2022! can't believe that the YMCA staff treat people like this. Thank you for the reality check. Bravo!!! We hope no one else experiences this at YMCA like us.

Liked the lake trails & field nearby! Great place for biking, walking, or running. The fields are very big for soccer or football. Very enjoyable trails are very close by. Come by for a good afternoon!

First visit to this location and it was packed. I typically go at an early lunch hour since other locations are empty at this time, but not here. I can see why it is packed though - plenty of cardio machines and 3 different rooms for various types of weight training. I'll probably return to this one during the week and the Katy one on weekends. The only negative was only one station for cleaning supplies in one of the rooms and most visitors didn't bother to use the cleaning supplies. An employee went around at some point and did a bit of cleaning, but if they add more stations and people see them more often, then they may get the point that they should clean after themselves. And only one person had their stuff hogging a machine while they worked elsewhere. Luckily there were 3 or 4 other similar stations. I will work out around your stuff you aren't at a machine or station.

Pro: good selection of equipment, especially free weights. Cons: Workers let their friends do whatever they want. Last week saw a kid in jeans sitting on one of the few benches on a laptop. Gym workers did not do anything. A guy that works there that must have been off could not wait for me to be off a platform before he threw his own stuff on it. Couldn’t even ask if I was finished. Other platforms were open to use, no reason to rush me off mine. Proceeds to stretch for 30 minutes and not even use it. Workers constantly hangout on equipment and let people that aren’t using it leave their bags on it. I have not had this bad an experience at Langham and Trotter YMCAs.

Terrible customer service. I signed the kids up for 1 week of swim lessons back in July. Here is it September and they are still charging my account a monthly fee. Saying its some new way of billing they started using. Spoke to the director and she is refusing to issue a refund. Literally charging me for absolutely no services rendered.

My spouse and I have been pretty disappointed in the YMCA for multiple reasons after joining a few weeks ago. We failed to notice during our tour but quickly realized during our first workout that there is only one leg extension machine and only one sitting leg curl machine. There should definitely be at least two of each, as this has been the case at every other gym we’ve been to in the country and even internationally. It seems we always have to wait to use them and then feel rushed to be done quickly so others can use them, yet there are always several treadmills available. Less treadmills and more of these machines is a need here. We brought our child a handful of times to the childcare center and couldn’t actually work out because of difficulty adjusting as a very young child. Every five minutes we’d be texted to come tend. This is understandable if the child won’t stop crying but it’s very frustrating that we’re not given any kind of access to the actual inside of the childcare area in order to help our child adjust better. I suggested allowing us to carry the child to their area and stay to play a few minutes then gradually move away so they could see that it was safe and fun and okay, but parents aren’t allowed to enter at all. Who knows if our child will ever adjust if they’re being pulled out every five minutes and not allowed to use other methods to try and help them feel more comfortable. The workers there are kind and patient with the kids and I don’t fault them for the gym’s policies. Unfortunately we’ve had to stop bringing our child lately because it’s a waste of time and money with us always leaving after just half an hour of constant interruptions to go tend to the child. Most of the members here are respectful and there to actually work out but there’s almost always a handful of younger men (16-22 years old) who are loud and disrespectful. They throw down their dumbbells and barbells like they’re in a disturbance competition (paired with overly exaggerated grunting) and it can be heard even with loud music blasting in your ears. Which is funny since they’re not even particularly heavy weights but it seems they want attention to seem big & bad & strong. There’s horseplay, very loudly goofing off, cussing, sometimes even playing with basketballs in the middle of the main workout areas. Lots of showing off for their little friends. All gyms I know of have rules against this kind of behavior but most of the employees I’ve seen in the evenings when this happens are within the same age range and seem to be friends with these immature kids. They’re always on their phones and move around very casually- they’re just not very professional in our opinion. Maybe the Y doesn’t have a rule against all this stuff but I’d find that very odd with this being a family oriented gym. Last night was the last straw for us. Upon entering the back weight area to lock up some things, we saw and heard some of the young boys and their disrespectful behavior, throwing down heavy weights and the usual stuff, with the nearest staff member just worried about his phone, and decided to go off to a different area to work out to be away from all that. It was much better in the other area we went to until towards the end when one of the more memorable boys entered to workout. Luckily we were almost done so we didn’t have to hear his unnecessary weight slamming for too long. Out of nowhere a FIGHT broke out near the workout area entrance between a handful of young men in the same age range I mentioned. Lots of yelling, cussing, and physical aggression & the young floor employees not being very effective. We heard another woman say this is the second time recently for a fight to break out. How embarrassing! Of course the young men in the work out area found the whole thing amusing. Nothing is being done about the small portion of riff-raff and it’s ruining the experience of the respectful majority. There were children there when this happened. What a shame. We are finding a new gym ASAP.

The workers that are supposed to be cleaning the machines and monitoring the free weight room are useless. They play with their friends and each other while working, constantly on their phones, do not rack the weights until closing so their are random weights everywhere, nothing is ever cleaned or wiped down, it doesn’t even smell fresh in the weight room due to this, I have seen workers running around and horse playing in the weight room, they literally grab the free weight machines and hog them with their friends for 30 minutes minimum while just talking and cursing loud. This place is becoming very unprofessional and feels more like a frat house in the evening due to the workers. They are all in their early 20’s but it’s no excuse for their not being any accountability. People are paying with their hard earned money to be in a what feels like a high school weight room.

Absolutely love this location! Really nice and clean in the inside and out. Employees in the gym are constantly wiping the equipment down. I always get greeted when I walk in. Restrooms and locker rooms are immaculate! The gym equipment is updated and they have a wide selection of it too with multiples of the same machines. The weight rooms are in separate rooms. The morning shift child care employees treat my children really good and interact with them. My children always comes back to me with some sort of craft. The child care employees are truly the best & really kind! My children love going there! I don’t trust just anyone with my kids, but I surely do trust them. I question my children every time I pick them up. My kids are old enough to understand and tell me if they have any concerns or fears. I highly recommend this location. You will not be disappointed!

The facility is nice but do not send your kids to camp here. My son did nothing but play board games, some sports, and watched a movie. I signed him up and lid for him to try new things not to sit at a daycare. I emailed the director and my husband called and left a voicemail. Nothing. Not a phone call or email back.

Facilities are nice as is the daycare option, but if you need swimming lessons you should look elsewhere. Both directors we have had the displeasure of experiencing have been flaky, unresponsive, and inconsistent.

Extraordinary! We use the pool every single day. The cleaning crew is outstanding, the lifeguards awesome. All the personnel at the entrance, always smiling, attentive to every need. We're really happy with the service. Thank you!

This place is pretty awesome with the exception of one thing. There’s a group of like 10-20 people who come and take over the back gym area for HOURS. We all pay for our memberships so it’s pretty unfair that you go in there sometimes knowing you’re not going to get a good workout in. It’s not like it’s a YMCA personal trainer session either. Worst part is that if you’re already there it almost feels like you get pushed out of the way when they show up…I’m sure I’m not the only one who knows who and what I’m talking about.

I have been in the water exercise program for several yers now. This winter the pool has been very cold and I have let several people in management know and they tell me it's fine. Many of the members are upset about the cold water and cold air. Previous winters it has been much more comfortable. The most disappointing thing is that the management does not seem to care. It has not always been this way so it's very disappointing.

Great, clean facilities. Joined the Y about 4 months ago and love swimming laps in the pool, which was heated in the Wintertime. Locker room and showers area is kept very clean. What I have enjoyed the most is pickleball. Starting from zero, I took the beginner's classes offered, which are a great basic introduction to the sport. The pickleball group is age diverse, full of positive energy and very welcoming, even though I joined as a beginner, this sport surely brings the community together.

So I wanted to give this place 5 stars but the management has been awful. I want to give 5 stars and a shout out to Magda, she's been an AMAZING swim coach who taught my mother how to swim. It took EFFORT to sign up for Magda, management purposely made it difficult. First they lied saying she didn't have all her certificates and that she's 'not in the system' despite teaching for months, they keep recommending other swim teachers instead or don't even mention Magda, and keep making different excuses. I know this be auss I called and went in person several different times and told different things, even Magda is confused about all of this. It's been going on for months now management especially Karina detests Magda for some reason and at this point I think it's 100% racially motivated because Magda isn't white but the management and other instructors are. I would get if the problem of her not being in the system was an issue when she first signed up to teach people, but it shouldn't absolutely be an issue for MONTHS. Someone needs to seriously look into this and fix it because I've tried all the other coaches and while they are okay, I prefer Magda, she is truly passionate and actively cares and is there for you. Again I am still unable to sign up for private lessons because management refuses to fix the issue and keeps making up different reasons!

The hours are convenient, the staff is friendly and helpful, and there's a great selection of classes. It's a great value! I love that there are so many options for a workout. Have met life-long friends there as well. Highly recommend!

The weight rooms are expansive with plenty of equipment so there is practically no wait time to use the needed machine. The whole YMCA is clean and organized. It is easy to figure out the way around and locate all equipment. The extra-curricular opportunities for kids is outstanding, with excellent coaches. It is a friendly place.

So far I've mostly just used the indoor walking track and pools, but they're very nice. It's a relief to be able to work out indoors, away from the oppressive never-ending heat. The front desk staff are always friendly and answer my questions when I have any.

I love our local YMCA! Great classes are offered throughout the day so if I miss a morning workout I can typically catch an evening class. My favorite instructors are Kim Walker and Natalie Dunn they truly push you. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a greater sense of community and belonging to empower your fitness journey.

If you love inclusive group exercise classes, this gym is a must. There is a class for everyone and the instructors are welcoming and full of encouragement. And if you are a clean freak, this gym is spotless.

My first paid job was at the YMCA as a recent HS graduate. 12 years later, I came back as a member because of the family atmosphere. Got my parents to join also and they love it!

It's a friendly atmosphere with good equipment. The staff is friendly. We made a good choice by switching our gym membership to the YMCA.

I really like this place, but I wish some of the members were a little more thoughtful. Hogging machines for an hour or leaving your things at the machine so no one else can use it and you’re gone for 10 - 15mins is not fair to other members.

Love the friendly and energetic staff. They make working out fun! Very clean facility, too.

Good, clean, and overall the best gym I’ve ever been to. However, the floor staff isn’t. I saw several times how different male staff kept coming up to girls in the middle of their workout or during their rest break, having long side talks and distracting them. Not to mention, they hover in groups or pairs and watch the girls from distance. I understand you’re young and single and there are many fit women around you, but build your personal life whenever you’re not at work.
