Although it’s beautiful out here this place is a disappointment. On the website they mention several wild animals such as bison, ostrich and more. Kids were excited but very disappointed when we arrive as these animals were nowhere to see. Only one donkey and a goat at a very far distance. The Birds Aviary is very nice however the blue fronted Amazon is in bad shape...it is about to die. Some of the cages are empty. Only one guinea fowl. Is it so difficult to find another one, I mate for this one? Although the area is nice, great playground the animal attraction is a disappointment. The precinct who is managing this facility is doing a good job however they should change the description on the website as it creates expectations which lead to disappointment!

This place has mini horses ,donkeys, goat and parrots . Nice park . No admission fee. Plenty of parking . Lots of room in other parts of park for grilling and picnicking. I will definitely return. Nice clean family area .

Back when I was a kid there were a variety of exotic animals here, including emus and rheas. After the floods in 2016 most of the more animals disappeared (don't know whether they died in the flood or got moved to a different location). Now, there's not nearly as many interesting animals, but probably enough to entertain kids and wildlife lovers.

Lots of vultures there more than caged birds. Nice place but I wish it looked more entertaining.

Wildlife habitat consists of miniature ponies, donkeys, a goat, and two mini pigs. The park appears to have downsized after Harvey due to it being located in the reservoir. Great place to bring the kids with an aviary next door.

Bear Creek Pioneers Park has a free zoo with wildlife habitat and Aviary. There is a donkey, 2 pigs and 1 goat in the grassy field with covered shelters for the animals. On the fences there are camera ports to take clear and up-close photos of the animals avoiding the fence. If you visit during daytime with moderate temperature, the animals are more likely to be active. Kids as well as adults love to see the animals grazing on the field.

The bird wildlife area needs some old fashion sprucing up/spring cleaning. Most cages had the names of the bird on it. The large multicolored parrot had many feathers missing on its breast and tummy side. Needs attention. All birds were way too confined in small cages. They need to be able to fly around! Maybe time for some remodeling or an addition to the building.

It's a very spacious & quiet park. There were some birds there in the cages, but most were empty, maybe for an important reason. There were plenty of ducks & other birds by the pond. It is free to see the animals there, but DO NOT feed them & that is also stated in their placards.

The last time I visited was Friday, 09/01/2023. This is a Park at War Memorial by North Eldidge pkwy. I just come here to exercise - like walking and stretching. It is very safe. It's maintained and kept moderately clean. There are about three restrooms placed at three strategic places along the two miles park; about 3/4 mile away from each other. I don't like to use public restrooms, so I train my bladder well by using restroom just before heading out to the park till I come home. It's open fro 5 am to I think around 10pm. No tickets needed. It's free to tge public.

A nice place to visit with family and kids. They have some donkeys and small horses you can look at. Its located at Bear Creek Park. They also have some parrots in some large enclosures that like to talk. Love going there

The park's green areas are nice and peaceful. Doesn't feel like your so close to the city. There were birds to see but the parrots looked and acted so sad. The Internet said there were Buffalo and Imus but they have been gone for years. There were no sightings of the farm animals and we were told they were removed from public viewing because people were feeding them chips.
