The view point is right in the middle of city with 5 minutes walk and great view to the city. I absolutely enjoyed it. You don't need necessarily to go to the higher point. We loved the view from here. Especially it's a lot more stairs if you want to go higher and the city becomes a lot smaller in the last viewpoint.

We did this as part of a MSC cruise tour, we were dropped off at the opposite end and walked through the forest and fantastic walk trails to this position. These are stairs leading up from the city but can be strenuous for some. Cafe at the top, old bunker and of course wonderful views.

What a stunning view over the city and surrounding landscape. While it was quite a bear to walk to the top, the trek was well worth it, despite the somewhat foul weather. It really captures what I consider to be one the most beautiful cities in Norway – the city juxtaposed with soft lines of the fjord and abruptly rising mountain peaks. It’s quite unforgettable.

There are about 500 steps to get to the top for a lovely view of the town. Take all the photos you want. People of all ages make it, so don't despair as you can rest on benches while you climb. There also is a handrail. There are lesser crowds in the afternoon.

Was quite the climb but the views are worth it. It was the country's National constitution day, celebrations were amazing with parades through the streets. Everything is closed as its a bank holiday too. Real National pride. Wish the UK was like this. People dressed in traditional clothing, brass bands and a massive parade through the streets with people in their thousands lining the way. Then it was like a mad exodus to climb the mountain so it was slow and stop and start to the top. Not for the faint hearted or mobility impaired I'm afraid. Cars can drive up the mountain road thankfully. It's a must to bring a camera, have a good pair of walking boots, wrap up warm as it's bracing in the wind. There's a cafe and toilets thankfully when you get to the top! We'll worth a visit.

The walk to the top is an average one, the are some possibilities to take a break if you (or your kids) need one and the view is so beautiful. Thank in consideration that this is a major attraction and it will be crowded. For the photo enthusiasts- you will still get that awesome picture of the city and the fjords.

Nice relatively easy climb. Can get busy, so we walked up the stairs and took a marked path down on the south side of the hill.

An invigorating walk to the top. 418 steps and a few steep slopes but plenty of rest stops where you capture the beautiful surroundings.

Perfect place to the the city center from top. It was enough to climb half a way (around 200 stairs up) to get this view. Worth to see!
