Cool place, tours available, one of the people at reception was new and a bit clueless. Also looking at me suspiciously as if she expected me to steal something. I bought a bracelet and she didn't know how to use the card machine. Looks worth a propper visit.

My friend and I had such a blast on this impromptu tour. The actors were fantastic and fun, and we both came out of there feeling like we learned SO much! Long live the king! 👑

We loved the castle, but above all the visit with characters of the time representing the barber surgeon, the cook... Very nice and a lot of fun for our daughters.

This tour was fantastic! We were the last group of the day (and there was only 2 of us) and it was fun and informative and the characters seemed like they really do enjoy their jobs! I thought the tour was well worth the price.

Great tour to be had at Dalkey Castle.starting with the audio visual intro and then an around the grounds and up the old tower house interspersed with real folk from medieval times made the history of the place really come to life. Awesome in character performances by all involved. Finishing with some coin making for kids and adults as well as some great models. My kids 6,5 & 2 had great fun. Well worth a visit

Brilliant experience, brought a group aged 5 - 50 and each one of them loved it. The staff went over and beyond and the actors were brilliant. Our youngest had many, many questions which were all answered with patience and humour. Highly Reccommend, even as a born and bred Dalkeyite there was plenty to learn.

I've been to this historic castle twice. It's a beautiful castle. I remember I went to visit this castle for the first time with my school in spring 2007 and I thought we enjoyed our visit. It's probably one of the best attractions in Ireland. I'd like to visit there again someday.

Wow! I'm from New Zealand and this was one of the most amazing tours I have ever been on! These guys are so lovely and informative, the actors who are throughout the castle are fantastic and teach you history in such a fun and interactive way. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants an amazing experience in Ireland! Thanks so much to all of you!

Last fall we were in Dublin for a wedding and found Dalkey Castle while searching for 'old stuff' on the map. The drive from the city along the water and then visiting Dalkey Castle was a real highlight of the trip to Ireland for us. We loved the castle, we loved the Heritage Center, but especially we loved the actors. I'm kind of bummed I forgot to buy toy weapons in the gift shop... maybe next time :) Dalkey Castle is fantastic and we can’t wait to visit again.

Well, the long planned, awaited and anticipated tour of Dalkey Castle with our grandchildren finally came about today. The old adage that good things come to those who wait rang truer than ever! There can be no better way to learn about and experience history than through the immersive interaction with real life characters, dressed in their medieval garb, and telling their stories. An experience NOT TO BE MISSED by visitors to and residents of Dublin alike!

In my opinion, if there was an option for more stars to put instead of five, I would. This was the best tour I had in a while! It was awesome! Such friendly staff who explained the history in such a great way. The film included was very detailed and fun to watch. The actors were extraordinary! They portray various people with various jobs. The way how they act is incredible! It was so awesome and funny to watch! Overall, well worth the price and I 101% recommend going!

A wonderful experience. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Children are very welcome at this museum. There is three actors and a main tour guide who all give amazing performances. We learnt a lot of history and facts about Dalkey, the castle and Irish heritage. I would highly recommend this tour. It close to the Dart station and plenty of parking nearby.

Santa experience was excellent. Really simple but special. The three cast members were excellent, from the initial story reader to the elf making the food and finally the main man. We have done multiple santa experiences but this had a very natural feeling to it ( best way I could explain it). Highly recommend

A good 2 hour program for you and the kids. I learned things as much as my kids did. The staff and those in character did a good job. Recommended.

Absolutely wonderful bit of history. It is not often you get to explore the inner workings of an intact castle. The guided tour was informative and fun. The actors were fantastic and its a must do for any family interested in history. The graveyard and church are particularly interesting. The Tau Cross located in the church grounds is one of only four Tau Crosses in Ireland and the Rathdown slab is so well preserved and presented. Definitely worth a visit, Dalkey should be proud.

A great hidden treasure in Dalkey. Take the tour when you visit, you learn so much of the area and they have live actors/actresses throughout the tour.

Amazing historical experience for the kids of Dalkey and the surrounding areas. Great story telling and actors that really bring you back in time.

Visited this beautiful place in May 2019, and had fab time there. Talented actors are making great show around while explaining life and culture of old Dalkey castle. Tour lasts for some 45 mins, and it's great for family visits, couples and for solo visits too. Near castle you'll find cheap parking and a plenty of nice restaurants and beer gardens. Wonderful!

The actors are amazing, information is a great mix between interactive screens, reading, DVD and being guided. Such a great tour and isn't too long so you stay interested. Special shout-out to Angela who was so lovely and informative

Is a lovely, charming little castle and grounds. I did the live history tour which was the best! You get a nice detailed history of the area, the times, the castle and grounds itself. Then there are actors who engage with you in various parts of the castle. The cemetery and church history are fascinating as well. My favourite has to be getting to the top of the castle, and seeing the remarkable views. The people at the castle were a delight as well, and eager to answer your questions. Wish I had the time to do the walking tours. Maybe next time. The town itself was gorgeous as well. I highly recommend a day or 2 visit.

We had a very pleasant experience visiting Dalkey Castle. It is a fairly small building, but all main view points are nicely decorated. The staff is very helpful and they put a lot of effort into presenting some key information in an interesting and fun manner. We met the medieval Barber (equivalent of our day's surgeon), archer / guard and the cook / housekeeper. A short dvd movie showed us reproduction of defences. As long as you don't expect to see a massive medieval castle, you are most likely to enjoy your visit to Dalkey Castle. We definitely did :)

Absolute incredible experience for first year history students. I won't ruin the fun but an immersive experience that brings history to life. Excellent tour guides with brilliant knowledge. I'm twenty years a history teacher and Dalkey Castle is head and shoulders above the rest.👍

Excellent dramatisations from a wonderful cast. Great Covid operation too that doesn't impede with the visit. Educational, entertaining and a wonderful graveyard too.

Great full dress actors and actresses and historical tour. Great for adults and older children. Wasn't sure what to expect. The world is full of much bigger and grander castles but the team at Dalkey made this feel personal and connected us to the past in a way I've not seen done quite as well before
