A fantastic museum in a brilliant setting. Very informative and a huge amount to see, from full size planes and tanks to a wide array of guns on display, medals and other assorted items. I'd recommend planning for a bare minimum of 2 hours as a visit to take it all in.

I have been to many war museums, and this was a unique experience. To see from the point of view of soldier's and civilians living in those times is humbling. The presentation of this museum is immaculate, and English speaker friendly.

In depth display of the grave impact of the Great Patriotic War (WW 2) on Belarus. Tanks, weapons, dioramas, photographs, and many items in countless display cases. Unusual in that the collection began in 1942, during the war, which adds to its comprehensive nature You will leave enlightened if not more than a little sad at the atrocities committed during the war. A must see museum in Minsk.

A school parade was on close by, the patriotic music loud and the flags, held by each of the school kids, fluttering in the wind. A lovely backdrop on an excellent museum. The museum is new and expansive that takes the tourist through Belarus in the Second World War. There is everything from dioramas to weapons and even a few tanks. All material is in English and very extensive at that. The addition of an exhibit about “the raping of nanjing”, the Japanese army’s cruelty inflicted on the Japanese was brutal and fascinating.

One of the best museums for Soviet WW2 awards I have ever been to. The rest is pretty good as well but the awards and story's behind them is the biggest part and well worth visiting just for them.

My love brought me here in my visit to Minsk, Belarus and it really opened my eyes that no matter if we are American or Belarusian we all honor our heroes, soldiers, citizens and will fight for what we believe in! Humanity is a gift and we need to cherish it more often and not focus on hate and our differences!

(Translated by Google) We were at the New Year's performance with children "Flight to the New Year". The children especially liked the gifts))) After the performance, they walked around the museum, looked. It would be more interesting with a guide. The youngest son (3.6 years old) liked the exposition where surgeons perform an operation, and another one where a huge carriage went off the rails. In general, all the exhibitions are interesting and realistic, as if real people were sitting. The eldest son liked tanks and aircraft.

(Translated by Google) I visited the museum a year ago and am still impressed. If you are interested or want to learn more about the events of the Second World War, then you are here. The museum surprises with its size, a large number of various equipment, documents and other exhibits. If you want to gain knowledge about one of the bloodiest wars, then a visit to this museum will be for you here.

Interesting museum about the history of world war 2 starting from 1941. Fair amount of military weapons, tanks, trucks, interesting history finishing with the victory. Lots of memorabilia and war stories. Cost of entrance and audioguide 14 Rubles (about 7 euro).

Rating this place is difficult. On the one hand it's quite big and filled with objects and replicas (a lot of weapons) from the war, displayed skillfully and with comprehensive information in Russian, Belarussian and English. On the other hand there are some big objectivity issues and the facts need to be reevalued and updated. Definitely worth a visit.

(Translated by Google) The museum itself was certainly impressive, but I think it was a big mistake to take the services of a guide. We flew around the museum nowhere to stop and examine the exposition. And I have not heard anything new and interesting. It would be better if I spent time looking at the exhibits.

World class WWII museum. It obviously focuses on Belarus and the Eastern Front but it ties it in very well to the whole of the war. The narrative structure of the exhibits is as good as any museum I've been to, walking through the beginning of the war to the end. The huge number of artifacts they have are very well presented with audio guides and English labels for almost everything. It should be your first stop on Minsk and if you're a WWII buff, it's worth the trip to Belarus just to see it. I spent two hours there but could have spent a whole day if I listened to all the audio guides. Truly a fantastic museum.

(Translated by Google) Alas, I liked the former museum better, but time goes forward and perhaps this style is selling better now. You have to do something with the buffet, it is not expensive and tasty, and in general, it would be better if they just put a coffee machine. Bo public catering has only negative reviews, at least from my friends and not so ... 02/09/2024 students of grades 10-11 of the state educational institution "Secondary School 104 named after R.N. Machulsky in Minsk" visited the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War for an interactive lesson "Genocide of the Belarusian people during the Second World War." The story of guide Ekaterina Aleksandrovna Kotlovskaya about the tragedy of the Belarusian people, their courage and feat during the harsh years of the war made an indelible impression on the children. We express our deep gratitude for organizing an event aimed at patriotic education of children. Teachers of secondary school 104 in Minsk.
