This is a very beautiful and comfortable natural park, and please spend two days at least to enjoy yourself and natural environment. My suggestion of season is Autumn and Winter. Less moisture and bugs.

I discovered the place thanks to a hike in Daba JianShan as indeed, we can get to Daba thanks to East Dalu forest trail. But the forest trail was also recently opened for mountain biking which is really nice. In mountain biking, it is necessary to register at the forest cabin with a QR Code which will direct you to a registration form at the start and a questionnaire when leaving the premises. For foreigners everything is in Chinese but google translate can handle on the fly. As for the recreational area, there are other trails, interesting sacred tree areas, various businesses including the visitor center. As we are closed at 2000 m altitude, the place is very interesting for hiking, taking photos, observing the fauna and flora. Overall, it's a very nice place for nature lovers and sports enthusiasts but quite a long way to go. Despite being around 50km from Zhudong, the way is a narrow and twisted mountain road and the average speed is really low.

As the first light of dawn gently breaks on the horizon, a new day begins with a breathtaking display of color and grandeur. The scene before you is nothing short of a masterpiece, as the sun's rays interact with a quilt of billowing clouds to create a tableau of celestial beauty. At the edge of the world, where the earth meets the sky, a thin strip of golden light emerges. This heralds the arrival of the sun, promising a day filled with the warmth and hope that only a sunrise can inspire.

Definitely one of the best forest recreation areas in Taiwan! Worth visiting!

Another one of must-visit spots in Island Taiwan. Far in the high mountain area, very calm atmosphere and always fresh air, be sure to stay a night for the night sky view and a good morning wake up. Be careful of the foggy walking paths in the afternoon.

It's a long drive (2hrs) from the Chulin freeway ramp to here. The last few km to here is the best, driving in the forest.
