A nice zoo for a family outing. The drive to the zoo was awesome; you have to drive around 5km in the depths of a rural area to get to the zoo and the air was amazing on the ride up. Golf carts of 4 and 7 seats are available for personal hire. There are 2 zones. Zone 1/ Zone blue is accessible by walking and golf cart. The majority of animals are there and are within their enclosures. There are monkeys running around so be careful of your belongings and not going near mother monkeys with children (they might bite ya >:3 ). Zone pink is mostly treaded by your own vehicle and has zones for different animals, i.e Australia zone and cat complex. It's a whole day thing and mostly outdoor so plan a whole day for this. Best for kids, since it's just a zoo and not much else. They do have animal shows which can be entertaining. Overall, a great place for a family outing.

One of Thailand's largest zoos contains over 300 animal species in the 2000 acre forest area. Buy the tickets at the entry or the new parking area and then take the free hop-in-tram bus or choose the golf cart (rates apply 550 Baht with the insurance for two hours). Go around the various themed zones and enjoy. Well-maintained, and the staff are kind to help. Every area has snacks, beverage stalls, food courts, 7-Eleven convenience stores, restaurants, and restrooms. You can drive the golf cart or your vehicle to zone 3. Children enjoy and have fun and exciting experience with nature.

This is very poor value for money 350baht entry +500 for a golf buggy for 2, it felt more like visiting Jurassic park 2... There was no direction for the visit from the staff there. There are hardly any animals in here compared to the past, many empty enclosures and there is no clear timetable for the shows which happen ~3x a day. The enclosures are old, half abandoned, falling apart and the grounds are overgrown and unkempt. It felt like a ghost zoo. We noticed one man zooming around on his moped the whole time shouting at the animals, waving a stick and throwing bananas into the enclosures to make it look Interesting. It was more disturbing. Be warned the monkeys are roaming everywhere and will steal belongings if left unattended. The caged cats look emaciated and show signs of stress, I left feeling so sad for the animals welfare/future. I would have asked for a refund but by 4.45pm hardly any staff were around, I didn't see any near the exit.

When you enter the zoo, you think this is going to be an amazing place where all of the animals can roam around. Unfortunately, this is not the case for animals. The elephant show is too much! The chains before the show and so on are not okay - I wish my kid didn't have to see this. Pink zone is very small, and after pink zone, there is nothing - the park seems to be abandoned at the end of the park - very strange feeling Overall a nice park, but they could do better for some animals

The space is beautiful and set in an already natural beauty. There is a lot of space and animals are a bit far from each other which makes me believe that it would've been nicer to see the animals with some more space. The enclosures are run down and sincerely too small, especially when there's so much space around. A big chunk of the zoo is to visit by car seeing that each enclosure is 500m from the previous one. It would've been nice to see that info somewhere. They basically feed the animals by selling the guests feed. Great business plan but still feels like a steal as every movement inside costs extra. Not my favourite zoo, but not the worst either. I plan to return as I haven't had the chance to visit half of it and the kid loved it.

This is an amazing zoo and definitely worth a visit. The zoo, is huge and you get around by driving a car, a cart or a bike. You can rent a golf cart here and you get to see all kind of animals. The highlight was the giraffe and elephant, the hippo was cute and the tiger was funny.

A nice place to hang out with family and friends. You can encounter animals closely. They have a good variety of animal species. Renting a golf car which is 2 hours validated is the best choice to move around in the zoo.

Could be better if more indicators signs would show where you are, where is the next place to visit. When you pay 300b for the entry, a paper map will be helpful. Chimpanzees or orangutans cannot be seen after 4pm, so you need to arrive early. Rent a golf cart because you will need to walk a lot!

For all animals lover will be like this place no matter you are kids or adults!!! The oldest open zoo in Thailand located not so far from Bangkok convenient to come. The zoo is separate in to 2 zone Green and Pink. The Green zone mean no visitors vehicles allowed only zoo's bus or rent golf car which is 500THB per 2 hr. Or you can walk around (I do recommend to catch zoo's bus and walk each area ; Highlights are Elephant swim shows Penguin parade Hippopotamus Mae Mali Bird cage (this time I didn't visit) Etc. The pink zone is area allowed to bring owns cars inside or rent golf car. The area is very big and winding road with up and down hills. Highlights ; Shows wonder land seal Tigers mountain Apes Etc. In Dec year 2021 there is event that you can camping inside in the camp area in pink zone. Which have special night tour to see animals at night behavior. Which I would recommend. This activity will arrange only every Fri to Sun of Dec. 21. Entry fee 590 THB for adults And 250 for kids up from 5 years old. Further information for next year shall check to official page.

This is so disappointing. The zoo was super disorganized. The animal rooms were heavily under construction. The drivable path (pink) left you so few animal to see. The green path you can not drive inside. Gotta walk or rent golf car. It’s a big zoo i got so tired after finish the pink one i left. Dont know how they went this far. I have seen better.

Very big zoo, you can drive through on some parts, or rent a golf cart, there is tram.train too. There penguin, feeding and elephant swimming show. Lots of animals are open in the air. Some so close you can touch them. Great day out for a family with children.

I like it, always nice to get some open air and interact with animals. some visits are up to the animals, are they sleeping, eating, playing. the set shows of the March of the penguins is constant and usually popular and can buy snack to feed them on stage. the swimming with elephants is always popular and when busy people need to que up early for the next show. feeding the elephants and giraffes is also popular and a good photo opportunity. this year traffic was down and there seemed to be less animals. they are also upgrading a couple of the parking lots. easy to park, can ride several available trolleys or rent a electric golf cart for a fee about 500 baht and up depending on size and time 4 seats or 6 seats a couple hours or more. the carts are nice but the trolleys work well and you only need a cart to go to the big cat , guar, Australia section. the rest is close enough to walk easily. watch out for the roaming monkeys. some are aggressive to snatch food or a purse out of your hands, will climb into carts looking for snacks. usually don't fear you and can chase a person out of a cart. if they see a cane, walking stick or slingshot they usually will leave you alone. there are several well placed snack and restroom options.

Best place to spend morning time with family. The park is full of green and feels more like in natural surroundings. Shows are in various areas and timings are different so better check in their website for more details. Renting a self-driving golf cart is best option if traveling with family.

A wonderful experience that you could many different animals in there. And you could rent the golf car and drive inside the safari that different from other zoo. But there are many monkeys and quite aggressive that will take your foods on your hands. I think the zoo need to do something to prevent a potential accident in the future.

+ You can buy cheap tickets when you arrive + You can rent a golf cart and drive around the whole zoo at your own speed. + Many animals to see, monkeys, deer, hippo, elephant, lion, tigers, birds, capybaras, giraffes and aquatic animals + Monkeys roam the zoo freely, don't get too close or they'll chase you + You can feed and interact with some animals. Such as penguins and giraffe.

Definitely get the golf cart. It is so worth it. The animals are active and beautiful. Very well organized and the prices are very reasonable

Extremely disappointed this time. The zoo enforced a new pricing policy, which no longer allows foreigners with a work permit (tax payers) to enter with regular price. They also disregarded AIS 50%-off promotion even though it doesn't state in terms and conditions that it can't be used with foreigners who live in Thailand and regularly use the AIS service. No explanation was given when asked. Not to mention that you still need to pay extra for parking and trams/golf carts inside the zoo. During the holiday season, the management of the traffic at the entrance is very, very poor, causing a lot of traffic jams. The zoo itself is getting old and not very well maintained. We visited the zoo a couple of times throughout the years, but unfortunately, the quality is getting worse.

Could be a great zoo, but it looks like its unfinished. Recommend driving a golf car, because with tricycle you cant go to the pink hilly area. While using the golf car, you are confused if you should stop and continue on foot or not, so its great if there would be marked on floor or something that there are two stops, possibly to see hippos for example. The second issue is, that you can rent golf car per 2hours. You cant see all animals and stop for 2hours, so you feel in a rush going back, unless you are willing to pay 550bht for another 2 hours. All your things take with you, when leaving the golf car, because when you leave the golf car, a bunch of monkeys steal everything you have in the car Animals look in good shape, well taken care of. Great enviroment which they are put into, but many things under construction, some time you think you are driving in wrong direction, because its just a jungle and road nothing to see. Really wanted to see and feed the lemurs, problem was its only possible during weekends or holidays :( Loved the prices inside zoo, relatively inexpensive Monkeys everywhere and they get aggresive when they see you have chips or anything.

Very huge open zoo. I 've visited here once. Sure most kids are enjoyed looking around animals and feeding them riding a golf cart. Be careful with wild monkeys, which steal tourist's snacks or beverages.

Multiple times here, kids love it, friendly staff, approximately 2 and half hours for one tour, be extreamly cautious with the monkeys.

The zoo is now the only public zoo closest to Bangkok, about 1.5 hour drive. No more personal cars allowed inside the zoo. No more animal feeding. It looses a sense of opened-zoo where you could have been closer to some animals. Spare time to enjoy varieties of wildlife. Nothing much to eat inside. No outside food is allowed. It's still good though. Just get a golf cart!

    1. Super crowded on weekends. Difficult to find parking space. More than one hour waiting line for renting a golf cart. 2. Dual price for foreigners with no discount for work permit holders 3. The zoo is not so "open" as it's advertised. Many species are kept in small cages and barely can be seen through the dirty glass. Chained elephants!! 4. Overall the place looks run down and gloomy. Penguin's pool was extremely dirty for instance. I'd say Chiang Mai Zoo and Korat zoo are better kept. Hideous toilets, some of the worst I've seen in Thailand. On the bright side you can see gorgeous tigers, chimpanzees and orangutans, birds dome is nice, African zone with giraffes is cool. If you have a chance, go on weekdays or as early as you can on weekends.

The interesting only on africa zone for that giraffe and rhino. other is not attractive especialli australia zone nothing to see. penguin zone is bad conditoon and the glass full of stain can not see clearly.

This zoo abuses animals. Trainers make elephants perform spectacles in underwater pools that are not natural for them. Trainers ride their necks, coercing them to dive into the pool. Elephants do enjoy bathing but in the water they do it standing, only when they can't stay afloat do their heads ever sink below the water - so the zoo basically drowns them every time they perform this trick. The training process is also horrific, starting when they are TAKEN from their mothers and families as calves. The mother and others in the heard who try to intervene are often slaughtered, with an average of 7-8 adults killed for every calf taken. The calf then goes through "pajan" training designed to break their spirits and force the animal into submission. This zoo promotes this. This zoo is abusing animals. Only visit this zoo if you support animal abuse.

Putting an elephant into water is cruelty. I hope people will understand this and your zoo will be shut down. A country like Thailand where elephants are respected so much are treated like this. Shame and no respect Big shame for those people who go there and enjoy the elephant under water show .

I came here in the morning on the weekend. There weren't many people in the morning. Entry price is 250 baht for adults. If you come to Thailand, you should definitely come here. There are many animals inside. You feel very close to them as it is open zoo. You also have the chance to feed many animals. I fed an elephant and it was very enjoyable. There are also wild monkeys as it is an open zoo. You should pay attention to these. They can harm you or steal your belongings. Since the zoo is very large, I definitely recommend renting a golf cart. Not too expensive just 500 baht. 4 people can use it.

Totally in love with this open zoo! This is my first time visit, staff is very nice and polite. We parked the car at parking lot, bought ticket, adult 150 THB each, and 80THB for parking lot. You can rent buggy 500THB per 2 hours (can sit up to 4) or EV 3 wheel bike 350THB per 2 hrs including insurance (can sit 2). The zoo is very large, you can see and feed eld's deer outdoor. Many money! Be careful of you belogging, they love to steal things. We rent EV 3 wheels bike and drove along the green zone, you can enjoy seeing hippo, sloth, capybara. They are all cute and look very healthy! Overall i had a very good experience here and will definitely come back to see more shows.

Well, I enjoyed zoo very much, it’s very big, very green and tropical, it has many animals, it has pretty good service (cars, trams, food courts and toilets. So I want to describe all advantages first: - cheap cars and trams ( 35 baht for the tram whole day, 80 baht golf cars but I don’t know if it’s for hour or for the whole day) - much food and it’s cheap (burgers, ice cream, some other food that I don’t know exactly - a lot of trees and place - many cool animals and they greeted good ( except for elephants , they were chained) - many places to chill and watch the beauty - some attractions like feeding animals Bad moments: - elephants seemed poor - don’t you dare go to pink zone without cars, there are not so much animals and you’ll have to walk like 5 km like we did to get anywhere - we were at Saturday and there was no taxi to get out of there, it was hard to get the ride back home, and we were not alone with this problem

I used to like coming to this zoo. They have a large area with all kinds of animals. They implemented a dual pricing policy. In the past they were charging the same price for Thais and foreigners with a work permit. Unfortunately, they stopped this and wouldn't even accept the ais 50% off coupon they were advertising at the ticketing office from me as a foreigner. This is quite disappointing and I likely won't be coming back here or recommending the zoo anymore.

This place must have been top five best zoos in this country. Most animals seemed happy. This zoo is very big you may wonder how time flies. Each zone you can't walk it's better to drive your own car or take rentals and you should make sure you explore all zones and not to miss any special shows on that day. Food outside the zoos can feed some animals in some zones.

Excellent place to visit with kids ! Life time experience with all kinds of animals, from water to land and air, from various continents. Kids enjoyed a lot watching these huge animals and birds closely. Though far from city, but make some time on the way, between Bangkok and Pattaya, to watch these creatures. All animals are well maintained. The facility of golf car is also good but little expensive. Around 2-3 hours could be spent here. The tickets were cheap, discounted till end of September 2020. It's a MUST VISIT site for a family trip !!!

  • 4/5 Joff J. 3 years ago on Google

Meet expectations. Good choice for family with kids. The ONLY comment was that I was told by the officers at the golf cart station that there would be 50 THB deposit for the rent. I eventually didn’t get it back because they later told me that it was a mandatory insurance fee! .. could have told me so.

  • 4/5 Dirk R. 2 years ago on Google
Even though about 65% of the park is empty of visitors and animals, it is still a great place for families and visitors. There is plenty of parking. Lol The animals that are there are well cared for and appear healthy. But the exhibits that have closed down are quickly being overgrown and lack maintenance.

Pros: Cheap tickets, young kids enter for free. Lots of animals to see and as the pace is huge, it's not too crowded. Cons: Golf carts will all be rented out if you arrive late, so come in the morning if you're visiting on the weekends or holidays! Also, wild monkeys are everywhere looking to grab snacks or unattended belongings, beware!

  • 4/5 D K (. 1 year ago on Google
Definitely one of the better attractions of this nature around here. Quite a few of the animals are free to roam so it doesn't look as tragic as some places. There is a huge variety too. Great if you like walking about too, if you don't, then get a golf cart.

  • 3/5 Mary H. 1 year ago on Google
Interesting experience at the zoo. Some shows included an elephant swimming and penguins walking to the stage to get fed by tourists or anyone who wants to pay money to feed them. Very open zoo, did a lot of walking but preferably you should hire a golf kart or take the public round trip safari buses as each area is quite far from the other. Place is still under construction.

  • 5/5 LLN 10 months ago on Google
Highly recommend renting your own buggy 500 THB and discover the zoo in the most exciting and convenient way. Before entering the zoo's big entrance, turn left and walk 2 minutes to the buggy station. The zoo is huge, walking is abit too much as there are many slopes, or you can take the public tram which runs very often. Many families ride the buggy with grandparents and kids, it is very adorable and fun. The animals here seem to be well taken care of as I noticed their living spaces are well built, clean and spacious. If you're on your way to Pattaya, this place is definitely worth a visit for 2hrs. There are many fast foods and refreshment stations inside with reasonable prices. There is a 7Eleven at the entrance. Easy to find toilets also, no tissue. Best to visit right after opening hrs to avoid the long queue at the buggy rental. You will need to deposit your ID for the buggy, and abit of good driving skill is highly recommended.

A large zoo, were in the off season (June), so there were very few visitors. You can rent a golf car (two-seater, four-seater, six-seater) or travel by local bus. Many animals can be fed. Everywhere there is information about the animal (sometimes only in Thai). Every day there are different shows: elephant bathing, penguin feeding. On the territory there is a cafe and a shop, toilets, a gift shop. Beware of the monkeys!

Huge opened zoo, animals are in large spaces. Recommended to rent a golf car and move around with that. Close up experience with Rhinos is a must. Good food spots inside too and not expensive.

Only saw 1/2 the zoo. Wish I had more time. Would love to see the other half. Hiring a golf cart is essential....and keep hydrated. Feeding the elephants was fun, but be careful . They wi pinch the food when you're not aware. Their trunks are long and strong !!!

This place was awesome. You can rent your own golf cart to drive around the park and see all of the amazing animals. Most are in large enclosures.

A very nice zoo. The monkeys walk around the park. It is very pleasing to the eye. It was disappointing to see that in part of the trip there were some cages that were a little empty. The advantage is that there are many food stalls throughout the park.

    1. It was a good zoo. 2. Some animals like seal and many others looked sad and almost about to die because of their isolation and drugs. 3. Golf cart is a must to roam around (extra charges). 4. The map of the zoo is available and the posters of the map too. 5. Feeding animals are also there but very sad to see them like that

One of the best zoo I've been so far! Do go and visit. We took a buggy to travel around the open zoo. Really fun! I really love the lemur. They all super friendly.

Wonderful experience, large area, advice to rent golf cart if you wish to move from one point to another rather than waiting for the shuttling tram service.

Been to Khao Kheow Open Zoo in 2019. Overall, its good. but it's not that 2019 feel anymore. Back then, i can drive my car to every attraction within the zoo, But now in dec 2023, i can only drive to 1 sector with some attractions and another sector with giraffe feeding etc can only be access via paid trams or rented 2hrs buggy. Well the trams and 2hrs buggy 4 or 6 seaters are affordable. If u really want to visit, will recommend u to head straight to the buggy rental station alone via foot for ard 200m from the tram station. Then drive buggy back to fetch family at the tram station.

We waited more than 30 minutes for the electric car. In the end we walked. The place needs cleaning (there seem to be penguins but the glass is dirty) the children liked the zoo, feeding the animals and the island with lemurs!!!

👍 Perhaps this assessment from the fact that they went without a guide was taken in conjunction with the flight of the gibbon. To many animals we were not transported, some either were not on the ground, or we simply did not see them (as for example the hyena is too high) .On the show of animals and...

😠 Went there on May 24, 2022 at around noon. When I bought the ticket, the official asked me to ask the official in front of me for the driving route (pink). When I went to ask the official in front (Auntie's age), I went back. Asked what he said about the inside. I'll answer differently. (Very hostil...
