For the entry price or 200B per person, this museum was extremely underwhelming. Few lights weren't working, some text was difficult to read, and some interactive installations weren't working anymore. Overall, it doesn't look like it's being maintained to the fullest extent. Said that it was interesting to know about the Chinese Thai connections and how patong has played a role in that relationship. The classroom and the food sections were interesting. If you have nothing else to do in old town and really want to do something ,i guess this is an option, but personally, I'd skip it.

The museum is in an historic building that used to be a Chinese school. Entry was 200B for foreigners and 50B for Thais. Most of the exhibits were well done and maintained and there was satisfactory English translation. I learned new information about the Chinese immigrants who settled in Phuket and how they influenced the local culture. I thought my visit was worth it and would recommend this museum.

Entry fee of 200 Baht per person, located in Old Town. It is an old school with history of Chinese people in Phuket. The building gets really suffocating in the heat. There isn't much to see and the interactive things barely work. Not really worth as it didn't have a great amount of information and was overpriced and hot. You can skip this attraction if you wish

Nice place to visit, you can learn a lot of stories about the early Chinese immigrants here. When I was here people in Phuket were celebrating the veg festival, something clearly having Chinese influence. I was surprised until I saw how Chinese influenced local communities here. Ticket price 200 bahts.

The Thai Hua museum is quite informative, chronicling the life of Phuket Thai Chinese and how they are related to the island of Penang. However, for the price of THB 200 per entry, unfortunately some of the exhibits are not working. Otherwise the upkeep of this place seems to be quite good.

This museum, which used to be a Chinese school, highlights the history of Phuket and the Chinese influence that shaped their culture. The museum shows how the Chinese moved to Phuket, made it a tin mining center and generated revenue and jobs. The tools, utensils, attire, notable figures, family structures and the traditions of 1800s Phuket can be seen and read here. Entry is free and it is a good place for history buffs and cultural enthusiasts to learn more about Phuket. Definitely worth a visit in old Town!

The Thai Hua Museum worth a visit. It is a British-colonial style mansion built in 1934 and was a school Chinese language school. Now being a museum, you can discover the history of the first Chinese immigrants in Phuket. Very interesting.

I learned so much about the Chinese migration in this musume and also find out many interesting information my own ancestor journey from China. I would have give 5 stars if all the technology provided to visit to listen and learn still working. Greatful for the effort from the musume to preserve an important part of the history of Chinese in Phuket.

It’s ok at best, kids found it a little too boring so mainly for adults who want to learn about the island of Phuket and how it became to be what it is today. It’s okay but is not a must, if your in old town and have time to spare, go for it.

(Translated by Google) It's a very good museum in Phuket town. I am very impressed For those who also have Chinese ancestry, it is highly recommended to come. Because the museum explains about the immigration of Chinese people over a hundred years ago At the Argon-Ama Relocate to mining In Phuket Someone who is fortunate is either a mining master or a Kulee working in tin mining.

Loved the photos, stories and video about the Chinese school and the great and long serving teacher/headmaster and musician Mr Sunpin who had a profound impact on his students with his love and emphasis on the principles of Morality, Intelligence, Sports, Unity and Beauty. There were many photos of the school musicals and costumes.

I’ve been to 4 museums in the Old Town Phuket. This is one of the two that I strongly recommended. (Another is Woo Gallery.) Good displays and story-telling in this old school building. It gives visitors a good impression of people who were the great-grandfathers of today’s generation. Good explanation of Phuket heritage and roots, close tie with Penang. Well worth a good 1-1.5 hour visit.

Great museum to learn of the rich history of Phuket and especially the contributions of the Chinese who came here in the 19th century. Proud of the fact after becoming successful business people, they genuinely contributed to build up Phuket and make the lives of people better. Makes me appreciate Phuket a lot more than just the beautiful beaches I came here for!

They renovated an old school and use this ancient building as a museum. The building itself is really grand in chino-portugese style. The exbibition tells us a about the history of the ancestors of phuket people and how the city has evolved through time. Anyway, i think the place needs more maintenance, as some equipments , for example lightings on information board, are broken. Personally, i think the journey of the exhibition is bit boring and not well-designed. They provided just information board despite the fact that Phuket is a town with a very rich history, so it should have been told in a more interesting way. Probably, need some more investments and creativity ! Fee 50thb for adult (as of july 2022)

The museum which previously was a Chinese School, is now dedicated to the early history of Chinese culture in Phuket. I personally found the museum lacking exhibits relating more to the establishment of Chinese culture in Thailand. Tin mining was the establishment of the area, a the prominent people who established their wealth from nothing was interesting. Still it's worth a quick visit.

Rainy day in Phuket, looking for indoor activities other than shopping. Stopped by the Phuket Thaihua Museum Located in central part of Old Town. Grounds are clean and well maintained. Looks promising... No one was there other than the Receptionist. 200 baht entry fee 😓 There is an outside cafe serving drinks and snacks, but it was closed. Request to Museum- maybe open the cafe (Thai tea or coffee) and include one beverage with entrance fee. You may get more visitors! 🙏

This is a fabulous, must-see museum - I spent hours in here and learned so much! The displays are extremely well done and teach so much about the rich local history, including peoples’ everyday lives and traditions. Just the 100s of adorable, often hilarious photos of the students that attended the school are more than worth the price of admission! The people working here are friendly, kind and knowledgeable, too. I can’t recommend this museum highly enough!

Old, unmaintained museum, Unfortunately like most musea in Phuket they have not spend anything on maintenance for the last years. None of the buttons are working anymore to the great regret of my daughter. It is so easy nowadays to add a QR code in a room which people can scan on their phones and get some explanations. The Phuket attitude is to take the money from the tourists without giving anything in return, too bad. It is time wake up Phuket, you are not the only island in the world.

The entrance to the museum is very sterile and plain. If there was not a sign there you would have mistaken it for an old building of some sort. Even though inside is very simple and plain, the museum offers a huge amount of history about the significance of Phuket and the region around it. If you are a history buff or things of yesteryear interest you, this is the place to go. It is a mere 200 baht entry. THAI nationals can enter by paying 50.

Whilst this museum gives an insight into how Phuket evolved with the Chinese influences, I cant say it's a great place to visit and it's not really worth the 200baht entrance fee. None of the interactive exhibits worked, some of the information is difficult to read due to the chosen colours. On the whole this is one to be missed.

Great place to stop by for a quick tour of this historical Chinese school of Phuket. The ticket is 50 Baht per person with a guided tour of the school. You can learn more about the origin of the Chinese migrants into Thailand mostly to start working in the tin mines as labourers. Many, through hard work and determination, became prominent business owners of tin mines and palm oil plantations. There are other historical artifacts of the old town and the way of life in the classical Phuket's China European style shop-houses.

Decent intepretation of the origin and history of the community, but the price was too much for what it offers at 200bt.

Nice relaxing stopped-by place to learn about Chinese community in Phuket. The building was an old Chinese school that now become a museum. The entering fee is 50 bahts per person. They have a small restroom inside if you are trying to find one. The staff was nice but not sure if they speak English. They have all descriptions here in English so you could read them.

Little nice Museum representing the troublesome story of Chinese Expatriates, when they moved to Phuket to settle down. Annoying only the different fee 25 Baht for Thais and 200 for Non-Thais...!

Good place to learn about the Chinese entering migrating into Thailand and how they have integrated in the land. Pretty interesting stuff. Best part is the last room where the food places are shown on a map.

A great concept, in a beautiful historic house in Old Phuket Town. In dire need of upkeep and some investment in repairing exhibits and signage. Great stories to be told!

A small Chinese museum in Phuket. It is actually an old school. It consists of some history of Chinese immigrant in Phuket. The cost is 50 baht for Thai and 200 baht for foreigners.

200thb entrance fee for foreign and 50thb for Thai. Not a big museum. You can see everything within half an hour.

Very good, a lot to take in! Interesting to see the Chinese affect on Phuket culture. Wasnt busy, went at 9.30am. 200 baht per person. You start in 2nd floor.

I couldn’t find a reason to justify the 200 THB entrance fee per person. The museum is undoubtedly informative but I really felt like parts of it just weren’t maintained well. Could not read a lot of the information written in English because the writing was in a similar colour to the wall behind it. Some of the audio and light exhibits don’t work any longer as well which was disappointing. It has so much potential.. just hasn’t reached it. Would recommend if you have time and money to spare. But otherwise… not so sure

A very informative space with lots of history on the Chinese immigrants, curating the cultural backgrounds and Chinese values .. Some of the curation boards have some beautiful powerful Chinese writings and descriptions, I loved it.
