Fantastically cool museum. I can't say I'm an art fan, but I really enjoyed this museum. A magnificent collection of paintings in completely different styles and colors is spread over several floors. Among the paintings there are small portraits in the style of minimalism, and there are also huge paintings with a lot of details. The museum itself looks very cool, both outside and inside. There is also a small coffee shop and a souvenir shop on the territory of the museum. The entrance ticket cost 250 baht. If you want to see a different Bangkok, then you should definitely visit this place.

Really worth the time and money to get here. I walked for over 1 hours under 12 A.M sun but to admire such varieties of arts and historic treasures was so worth-it. There are 5 floors in which there are arts in every corners. I mean it. Please don't miss a spot of this museum, there are things that will surprise you. There are arts at the entrance of the WC, there are some at the end of a dark corner, there are some at the bottom display... There is a picture which I attached, some one put a condom in the dog's statue mouth, funny and I don't know if it's the artist's intention LOL

A great modern museum, a bit far from the city centre, but on the way here (if you take a light green line) you can walk through the University campus and see the life of local students. 6 floors of local and international, permanent and temporary collections. Allocate around 2 hours to enjoy it properly.

This makes my top 3 museums of art I’ve been to. Highly recommend everyone who visits Thailand to come see these beautiful pieces. I was captivated at the creativity, scale & uniqueness of Thai art. I spent almost 45min to an hour on every floor. After I went to the cafe and discovered that they had more exhibits tucked away on the first level.

Very nice modern art museum. Five floors of high quality modern artworks, very versatile. The building itself is also very beautiful, wity a nice little courtyard and a cafe. It might be worth bringing a scarf or a jumper as the temperature was quite cold. The museum was not busy at all. We spent around 2 hours there. It's close to the Don Mueang airport, might get a good stop on the way to the airport, especially that they have a storage room for your bags.

A art museum. A contemporary Thai art, there are a bit of European art. It is very good museum. The ticket is not expensive and you can take a picture inside just without flash. The ticket can be a discount for the cafe on the G floor, and there is also have a give shop too. Easy to go there it very close to sky train or you can drive there with a lot of parking there. Kid under 13 and senior over 60 enter for free. Student with an ID got the discount.

Impressive collection of art done by various contemporary artists. There are 5 floors to explore, and the space is well lit and easy to navigate. Free entry for seniors of about 60 years old, applies to foreigners too. Suggest going there by grab as it is about 40 minutes from Bangkok.

Spent three hours here (Jan 2022) and loved it! There are five floors of beautiful, mind-blowing art ...and great architecture too. We parked in garage below museum. You have to drive around building to enter parking garage...then walk down a long dramatic hallway back to front of building to enter museum. There was a security guy to help guide us upon entering off main street. Highly recommend checking out The MOCA Bangkok. 👍😁

Wonderful art. Wonderful space. Wonderful staff! Well worth price of admission (equivalent to $7.50). I had a broken toe during our May 2022 visit, and we borrowed a wheelchair for my husband to push me around.

It is an art gallery consisting of 5 floors where many works of art are exhibited together. Asian Countries have historical works of art in various disciplines. It is much colder than it should be inside. It would be beneficial to take some clothes. After finishing the exhibition tour, I recommend the mushroom soup at the restaurant downstairs, which also bears her name. This place is open every day except Monday.

For the western tourists this is a good break from the more typical Bangkok experience. The building is outstanding and when visited displayed quite an interesting collection of traditional masks. A great way to spend an afternoon when escaping the heat. The downside? Although it doesn't bother me much, a good amount of the crowd is heavy at work creating content for their Insta, so you'll find yourself dodging some pictures or photo bombing if that's your thing 😊

I am honestly not sure what to say about this museum. There are a lot of local students with obsession of taking pictures with the art and not seeing the art itself (oh yeah they bring photographer with them to take pictures of them sitting in the gallery). There are mostly Southeast Asian art, and the theme ranging from religious artist (Buddhism & Hinduism) to some thai local theme. I really wish that there are more explanation on the art, so the visitors (especially foreigners) can understand more about the context of the art itself.

It will take at least 1 hour ~ 2 hours for everyone to go through this museum. Beatiful arts are not just on the wall, it can be anywhere in the Museum and can be felt by eyes, ears, nose or physical touch. I mean: the ambience music, the lightning from each windows or rooftop of the building, the printed arts or crafted one... All of these things combine made my whole experience was so great or I could say: the best.

They have 5 floors total with many interesting things. Also they have a coffee shop at the ground floor. The staff were nice & helpful, when we left by the taxi, the taxi driver was not good at English, so the staff write down the license plate of that taxi, they give me their business card & told me that if I need any help to communicate, I can call them for translation. Highly recommend for art's lovers

The Museum of Modern Art in Bangkok is really cool! The building itself is very beautiful and modern, with a café and smoking area on the premises. It is located far from the center of Bangkok, but is easily accessible by public transport. The museum has 5 floors, each of which presents different directions in modern and traditional art. Each floor has its own unique concept and theme, ranging from ancient masks to surrealist works. In addition, the museum provides interactive zones and numerous sculptures. It's impossible to see everything in one visit, so I recommend planning several trips. It took me 3 hours for a quick overview. I recommend visiting the museum to anyone who loves art or wants to learn more about Thai artists. It's a great place to spend your time and get new impressions, but I would recommend the age limit to be 16+ as there is a lot of nudity.

Restrooms are very clean, and service attendant are very kind. There are lots of benches inside the museum, so you can rest whenever you want. Museum shop is also very interesting. highly recommended center of art!!!

Beautiful big museum with collections of very different styles and types, showcasing mainly Thai artists. They really designed the museum to give a special artistic experience, wandering through the six floors. I and my 7-year-old son enjoyed it very much. We strolled there for 2-3 hours.

(Translated by Google) There are many works based on traditional crafts and Buddhism rather than outrageous things, and the size and quietness of the building, combined with the size and quietness of the modern art, allows you to spend a relaxed (disrespectful) time. It's a place where you want to enjoy half a day on the middle of your trip when you're tired of the heat. The transportation is not good, but it's a little difficult, but it is about 100B by taxi from BTS Mochit and MRT Chatuchak stations at the nearest station. It is better to prepare a Thai address and map in advance. Please note that the main street beside Banken Station near the museum cannot be turned towards the museum. Please come from the front and rear intersections on the map of the attached photo.

Moca museum really impressed me that we have a great contemporary Art and Modern Art Museum in our country. 🤩 It answers the needs of contemporary art lovers as well. Enjoy until you forget the time. You can take a walk through the art. And enjoy taking pictures as a souvenir. Finally, parking is very convenient 😊

And yes, Bangkok has its own museum of art and this is one of the best museum experiences I ever been to and that said from a history being based next to Tate Modern and a frequent visitor to mega museums around the world as Pompidou in Paris and Malaga, Getty Museum LA, MOMA NYC, San Francisco SOMA and many many others. Go and spend two hours in MOCA Bangkok. 🙏

Probably one of the best museums in Bangkok. Though while it portrays itself as a museum of Modern Art, most of the collection is in fact not of the modern style you would see in a museum like the Tate Modern in London, though there are definitely a few intriguing modern pieces. A considerable amount of the art is religious particularly looking at Bhuddism and Hinduism, and the top floor is akin to a traditional European Renaissance museum, which does afford a lot of Instagram opportunities if the visitor hasn't traveled abroad much. Overall the building itself is beautiful, 5 floors, expansive, you at least need 2 hours, and the museum is quite accessible now given the building of the new red line. In fact it is a great stop if you have a long layover at DMK airport as that is not that far away especially with the new red line. The coffee shop as well at the bottom is really nice. Overall the museum tickets are a bit pricey at 250 baht for adults, 100 baht for students, but I imagine they are comparing to a modern art museum in NY which would cost $25, but compared to most ticket prices in Thailand it's a premium for sure.

During my first visit I've spent about 4 hours in the MOCA, Bangkok's spacious, light, modern, clean and friendly museum of modern art. Maybe it's called modern art because the art displayed has been made in "modern" times. This does not necessarily mean that all the themes are also modern. Yet, I love the mix of Asian and more Western artifacts. MOCA is one of the musea I would visit more than once. Getting there proved tricky. The new SRT line 🔴 is so new, Google maps didn't even give it as an option. The analogue maps in the metro / skytrain stations don't mention it either and the public service staff looked totally lost when asked. The MOCA website doesn't know the SRT line either, at least until today. Besides, MOCA is not an institution known to all Bangkokians. The situation will surely improve in the future, but assuming you will travel from Bangkok inner city to MOCA my advice is to - Take the MRT metro to Bang Sue station. - Bang Sue is the connecting station to the SRT line. - From the metro Bang Sue you need to go 1 level up and walk inside the Bang Sue complex to the SRT. - Take the SRT train to Rangsit / Don Mueang airport. - Get off at Bang Khen station. That's the 3rd stop after Bang Sue. - When leaving Bang Khen station, stay at this side of the highway, no need to cross. The museum is only a short walk away. Reward yourself with coffee and / or snack in the MOCA coffee shop. Their products are delicious.

Please take your time to stroll through the exhibition floors. Easy to find. The building itself is already an artpiece. You will recognize some work. The hyper realistic paintings are stunning. The works in the Richard Green collection contain art you otherwise have to travel to London for. Entrance is 250 baht for adults (students and pensioners for free, no difference between Thai or foreigners) No professional camera’s. Quiet, classy, safe, clean. Toilets on every floor. Funny cafetaria downstairs to catch up with friends.

I just had a blast at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Bangkok. First off, this place is massive. I mean, seriously, it's like a maze of creativity. You'll wander through floor after floor of artworks. They've got this crazy mix of paintings, sculptures, and installations. Some stuff left me scratching my head, but that's what makes it so interesting. The best part? They're not afraid to push boundaries. You'll find stuff here that's quirky, thought-provoking, and sometimes just downright weird. It's like stepping into a whole new universe. And don't even get me started on the colors! It's like someone threw a rainbow and a paint factory into a blender and went wild. So, when you're looking to have your mind blown, hit up MOCA in Bangkok. You'll leave with a whole new appreciation for the wild world of contemporary art.

You have to remember it’s close on Monday! I once visited but did not know so ended up visiting 5 years later. Location is far from center so you may want to combine with Chatuchak market. Recommend taking taxi/grab there because it’s far, we took the bus tho and the walk was not too far compared to taking the BTS. You may spend the whole day here because there are various exhibitions, each floor has a concept. Ticket is considerable but quality comes with price. No foods allow and there’s a coffee shop in the ground floor serving foods also, outside you will find nothing

Well worth the visit. Thoughtfully designed building housing a wide ranging collection of contemporary (mostly Thai) art. Thoughtfully curated exhibits have included footprints for places to stand for just the right picture. These marks put you inside the exhibit. Many different mediums and styles are showcased to their best effect. The café has a terrace overlooking stunning sculptures set in and around the water.

The buiding is quite new, 5 floors. There are paintings and sculptures of modern Thai artists, as well as many Khon masks and canvasses, depicting Ramayana chapters. A separate space is devoted to Khun Chang Khun Phaen poem. But the price is not cheap (250 baht). For modern paintings there are no descriptions of authors' views, so it's difficult to understand them. Anyways, maybe lovers of modern art will like this place.

Disappointing. The building is great but the collections are weird. Many pieces of art are not "contemporary" at all, and most modern works are inspired by Buddhism or Thai folklore (quickly redundant I'm afraid). 3rd floor is by far the most interesting in my opinion, and 4th is also good for those who are into Thawan Duchanee's style (not me unfortunately). The 5th floor's "international collection" is an eclectic arrangement of rather unimpressive works. This feels more like another of the Thai royal family's pet projects than a properly curated museum. Exhibitions at BACC are much better. Count 1h-1h30 to visit the entire thing, unless you're a really forgiving art buff. Most visitors seem to be students using the place to get their portrait taken.

Since the opening of the Red line...this museum has become very easy to visit. Nearest station Bang Khen.. and a short 5min walk. First impression.. impressive impeccable.. immersive. The collection is spread over 5 floors.. wheelchair access easy and convenient. I left this venue with a new respect for Thai artists. A must visit if you want a western style culture experience of Thailand. Featuring both global and national artist from the thriving Thai art scene. Thumbs up all round.

I loved the atmosphere, the art exhibitions and the overall experience. It’s quite far from the city center, so you need to plan your visit if you use public transportation. Once you enter, the feeling is quite nice and “arty”. Staff were very polite at all times. The coffee shop on the ground floor has very nice options of drinks and snacks but a bit overpriced. It would be nice to see more art pieces take advantage of the large space they have, or organize events like concerts, etc. it’s definitely a good place to visit!

A great way to experience and get to know Thai culture better. MOCA is worth the trip. Beautiful architecture and nice staff.

The museum is located out towards DMK airport and worth the trip out. The building itself is really nice but seeing so many Thai Contemporary Artist in one place makes it even better. There is super modern artist to modern takes on Thai Traditional art and sculpture. There is also a nice cafe on the ground floor. Expect to spend at least 2 hours.

The contemporary museum which exhibit wide range collection of mainly Thai paintings and other form of art (scruptures, etc.) The building design is interesting and unique. It has small safe on the ground floor. What I recommend you visit here is the dark room and the dark tunnel with stars! It is the popular photo spot here! Every part of the building is nicely clean and eyes-pleasing.

Other than being a place to take your own great photos, it also has some really great art. All 5 floors are worth exploring. The art isn't only on the walls or just the sculptures, but its also in the seating that is available. A truly great art museum.

This place is like a Bangkok version of MOMA. So many paintings for famous Thai artists with nice descriptions. We really enjoyed walking through the art shows. 250 baht ticket for both Thais and tourists was worth it. The coffee shop in the museum was also very good. Also, there are clean restrooms on every floor.

Best of all museum I've ever visited in Thailand. Good parking with security guard. Good place for wheel chair. A lot of arts display in 5 stories building. And also have a coffee shop at first floor.

I can’t believe it’s a private collection of some rich dude. Quite large variate and decent number of collections from prominent Thai artists. I like how it’s organized and the space is spacious. Spending few hours here is always pleasant.

I would have given here six stars if it was possible! The museum was definitely much much better from what I had expected to see, I would even claim it is not a museum of contemporary art but rather a national gallery. So many pieces to stand in front for hours and on - a unique collection of Thai and European art!

One of must go location in Bangkok. If you have 500thb to spare and love art, please go and explore it. There are total of 5 floors. Each have different theme. The cafe also serves pretty good coffee and get discount once you purchased the tickets.

This museum has lot thing to see. Especially artwork from most famous artists in Thailand. There lot of visitors during the weekend. This place located a bit far from downtown by the way. They have parking lot underneath the building but not that much compare to the building size.

The Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA) is a worthwhile destination for contemporary art lovers. With its diverse collection, thought-provoking exhibitions, educational programs, beautiful architecture, visitor-friendly facilities, and status as a cultural hub, MoCA provides a valuable experience for the price. A visit to MoCA is not just an opportunity to appreciate art but also a chance to expand horizons and connect with the ever-evolving world of contemporary art.

Very big museum with many impressive arts. Not too convenience to get there by public transport. The nearest BTS is Mochit and take the cab cost about 100 baht. No food and drink allowed inside. Take about 2 hours to visit.

Amazing museum with different exhibition themes which tells the story of Thailand and the region through the evolution of art. There are usually temporary exhibitions so it is recommended to go there often.

Had a really nice visit here. The museum consist of 4 floors with different curated artists’ style. They also provide paid and special exhibition if you are interested. The option is available when you bought the ticket in the ticketing desk. They also accept student card overseas, so my sister got discounted price since she’s a student. What I like from this museum is how they created a story that flows for its curated collection. They also emphasise each artists’ style by giving them the coloured background. If you love to be in a temporary museum and enjoying arts, this certainly the right place for you. Although I have to admit that the collection of “contemporary” art is still less compared to TATE London.

Such a beautiful art museum. There was 5 floors of art altogether with some of the exhibition being more interactive! It was really interesting to see such fine art all in one place. I did however like how many people were taking selfies there - but that is nothing to do with the exhibits!

The arts were amazing, we went there during the weekday around 10 AM , so it wasn't that crowded, worth visiting If you're a student studying in Thailand BRING YOUR STUDENT ID CARD, they have discount for students (I'm not so sure about other countries' student cards) And enjoy the photo worthy inspo from my photos :))

I liked it very much, I enjoyed it and the building is a nice piece of architecture, it is a little far away but I think it’s worth it. Beware of traffic, go early and leave before they close. The restaurant caffe shop inside was good as well and I think prices are reasonable.

MOCA BANGKOK has been purposely built to showcase and exhibit the exceptional works of art collected over the past three decades by Boonchai Bencharongkul, whose passion for art runs deep. The museum is also intended as a tangible sign ofappreciation for the many great favours bestowed upon the Thai people by our beloved monarch, King Rama IX, and is dedicated to the honour of Professor Silpa Bhirasri, the “Father of Contemporary Art” in Thailand. MOCA BANGKOK displays works of art inspired by traditional Thai modes of expression alongside art that has been influenced by the introduction of Western artistic styles and techniques. Some 800 works selected from Boonchai Bencharongkul’s private collection are exhibited in the 20,000 square metres of well – lit white space. These artworks stand as a statement of Thai creativity, beliefs, and thought processes.

Beautiful place. Lots of nice art pieces to lose yourself in. Wasn’t too crowded when i went at around 2pm. Made for a pleasing experience. Probably no need to buy the tickets beforehand. There wasn’t any queue. Not outside food and drinks allowed. You’ll have to either throw or leave them at entrance.
