Many activities and trails to suit all levels. Lovely and helpful staff. Ask the information desk for help with private guides and so on. Highly recommend to get a guide because the knowledge you will receive is priceless. Food and drinks are available at a very reasonable price and not a rip off like some other hot spots. Take your time to enjoy the nature and please help to keep the place clean ♥️

Absolutely not to be missed! There is a lot of ground to cover, so allow a full day or more. You really need transport if you intend to see the whole park in one day. It's a great place to take children and the night safari is a must. Its beautiful in all weather, but be prepared and bring sensible layers and shoes.

This national park is worth visiting. The big water fall is really amazing with an advent stair to reach there. Climate is pretty great, I suggest December is the best time to visit here. You can book rooms online prior to the travel it will be great to have an adventure night life with wildlife experience. There are plenty of deer, elephant and monkeys. For foreigners 400THB is the entry fee. There is pretty good food court also inside the national park which is very reasonable price.

We really enjoyed the scenery here. Nature is beautiful and camping there is a nice refuge from the heat of the city. They have food available at the top, a mini mart and a few food stalls near the information centre and we’re surprisingly reasonably priced. Restaurants/cafes are also available, although I didn’t go there so I can’t recommend it. The camp ground was quite clean and shower was extremely cold! Get that done early. 3 stars for a few reason: the traffic is horrible, loads of cars passing all day which isn’t so peaceful and doesn’t encourage animal sightings. The entrance fee for a foreigner is 400baht…price gouging!! It’s ridiculous given we were with a bicycle, the most eco friendly ride! Meanwhile a big van or truck enters with 20/50Baht. What a joke! Vehicles should have an entrance fee category. Not the colour of your skin! Overall good park. 👍🏽

Love the hiking trails. Fun for the whole family. Make sure you wear long pants/socks/sleeves for the leeches! It's a beautiful National Park that we love to visit any time we're in Khao Yai.

Came here in April 2023 and it was probably not a good time to visit. Very few visitors were sighted, car parks almost empty (which of course was good for us). However, the hazy skies and the very hot clammy weather (about 40C) curbed our enjoyment of the natural beauty of the park. Waterfall, what waterfall? Rivers and creeks showed low water levels. Sadly, sighted not a single large wild animal ( discounting the monkeys and birds). We were disappointed, frankly. Entry fee for non-residents 400 bahts, locals half of that.

Khao Yai a Bangkok rich people play ground with expensive properties. To really enjoy the surrounding area you need to have some kind of transport over here. Carrying your bicycle going up the mountain is part of the game(pain). Budget tourist can enjoy this place by taking the Van from Bangkok Democracy Monument to Pak Chong Van or bus terminal if you are using the long distance bus. From down town Pak Chong (refresh your self first by buying some food or grocery) take the two row seats pickup right down to the front gate of Khao Yai National Park. There are camping tent rental( food & drinks service) at the Camp Ground(more quiet and deer is always around) further down the Khao Yai National Park Visitor Center.

Truly gorgeous park. Must visit no matter if you want to spend the entire day hiking or just ride through it- although I highlt recommend making at least a few stops to take in the amazing wilderness. Was not lucky enough to spot any elephants during my visit

Filled with natural beauty, flora n fauna. One will have great time n worth full trip to this national park. Entry fee for foreigners is high compared Thai national but I would request the management to considered for reduction if we have work permit. Overall very good park to spend time

It's a slice of heaven on earth. The road through the park is amazing like the famous Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. The water falls is stunning and the view from top of the mountain is so beautiful. But there were no animals except one or two. Not many native birds, also. The entry fee was 400 Bhatt for forginers and 40 Bhatt for the locals. The car we hired from the information office cost 1500 Bhatt for a tour took less than 2 hours!!!! However, despite the high cost it was worth it and encourage everyone to visit the place.

It's really big and beautiful. You can drive around for hours and enjoy the views. There are a couple of view points you can shoot gorgeous photos. You can buy tickets for each person and for the car or motorcycle, but the bicycle is free of charge.

Khao Yai National Park is another well-known national park in Thailand, located in the northeastern part of the country, approximately 175 kilometers (109 miles) northeast of Bangkok. It is one of the oldest and most popular national parks in Thailand, known for its stunning landscapes, dense forests, and diverse wildlife.

Thailand's oldest and 3rd largest National Park. Fabulous views, wildlife, hiking trails, activities, lodging and photo ops. Great for birding, bugging, camping or "glamping".

Get away from a busy city like Bangkok and take a ride to Khao Yai is a recommendation while in Thailand. It's simply beautiful with its scenery view, animals and diversity of the plants. If you're lucky enough, there will be a deer eating grass beside the road or bushes nearby. The weather is very nice and cool fresh air. There are places where you can have a camping also which is very popular among local tourists.

Breathtakingly beautiful, these were the words which would come out of my mouth after having a visit to Khao Yai National Park. Khao Yai National Park is one of the largest national park in Thailand ranking at third place. On December 2021, I entered the park with my family from the north entrance and visited several places. The first was a viewpoint. From the viewpoint, I could see a mesmerizing senary of mountains and valleys. Next, we visited a elephant viewing spot, but as it was still early in the morning we could not see any elephants. Moving on, we saw a bridge and 2 waterfalls and ended the day there. The waterfall was well worth a visit as the atmosphere was very relaxing and wonderful. I would definitely revisit the park if I am given the chance. The clean environment, amazing scenery and relaxing atmosphere are just some of the good things about this place. This place is a MUST VISIT!!.

Favourite place not too far from Bangkok, bad thing is that it costs x10 more for foreigners otherwise 5 stars. I recommend they increase Thai pricing and reducing foreign price to match. This will also make it less busy in the park which would be welcome for animals. In terms of wildlife, it's still amazing despite many mammals being harder to see now. Last visit I saw a Great Hornbill about 10 minutes into the park from the road. I also encountered other beautiful birds like the long-tailed broadbill and barred owlet. I also came within 5m of a wild elephant as it walked passed us down the road, with the park rangers close at hand. Best natural spot not far from the capital.

Visited 17nov 23. All around fun. Trail can be tough for elders. Slipping can be often with wrong footwear. Nice views from many areas of the park. Due to higher section of mountain area, it's not too hot here for good trekking sesh.

Khao Yai National Park is a national park in Thailand. Established in 1962 as Thailand's first national park, it is the third largest national park in Thailand. Khao Yai National Park has three main seasons, with an annual mean temperature of 23° Celsius, though this varies greatly with the seasons. Rainy season (May–October): Most days have high rates of precipitation. The atmosphere is humid with average temperatures of 27 °C during the day dropping to 13 °C at night. Streams at peak flow. Cool season (November–February): Clear skies, sunny and cool. Average temperatures of 22 °C during the day and 10 °C at night. Good time for hiking. Hot season (March–April): Humid with daytime temperatures of 20–30 °C and 17 °C at night. Khao Yai is home to a variety of animals. It is one of the few places in Thailand where wild elephants still survive. They are regularly seen and are a major tourist attraction. Other larger animals include gibbons, pig-tailed macaques, muntjacs and sambar deer. Other large animals include barking deer, porcupine, and civet. Other species that can occasionally be seen include sun bear, Asian black bear, gaur, otter, dhole and jackal. In early-2017 it was announced that 18 tigers, including five males, seven female and six cubs, were filmed by surveillance cameras in the Dong Phaya Yen-Khao Yai world heritage site in June 2016 and February 2017 in a joint effort of the Department of National Parks, the Freeland Foundation, and the Panthera Corporation. The last time that tigers were seen by surveillance cameras in Khao Yai National Park was in 2002.

Now 400 baht for low class non Thai people and 40 baht for Thai nationals. Kids 200 and 20 baht for thai kids. Not even a 16 years work permit qualifies for thai rates. The only thing we can do is turn around.

Big and beautiful national park, very fun place to explore for nature lovers. You can hike, see view points, a few animals and waterfalls. There's also coffee and some restaurants but not much vegetarian or vegan food options.

Great few days spent here. Highly recommended getting a local safari guide. If your hoping to see waterfalls just know that there is no water in April. We didn't see elephants but we saw gibbons, porcupines, mongoose, jackles, Hornbills, snakes, water monitors

Beautiful, lush forest, cool, clean air and lovely waterfalls, all in the same place. Had an exciting run into a magnificent wild elephant once. He walked by our parked car near the old golf course. Us three sat there, holding our breath. He stole a glance, then sauntered away. Will never forget that close encounter.

Had an enjoyable trek through trail 3. Definitely get a guide at the tourism office (about 500 THB) there otherwise you might bumble your way around the forest. Guide was also knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and made the experience fun. Best to go in winter when it's cooler (too warm otherwise)

It's an amazing park! It's so good that I'm shocked more people doesn't visit it, especially that it's relatively close to Bangkok. If you're on the fence whether to include this in your trip itinerary I'd say go for it. It's really worth it. I recommend tours with Greenleaf (they are budget friendly) which I personally arranged with More than Sleep hostel

Massive national park. Not as many spectacular views I'd hoped for but the waterfall was well worth the trip. Definitely a place to get go and get in touch with your outdooorsy side. Need a car to get around but because everything is far away from each other. Also there is a much higher price for foreigners compared to Thais.

A brisk 2 hour drive from Bangkok takes you to the entrance of Khao Yai National Park. There are some amazing waterfalls, hikes and wildlife. It's hard to believe it's so close to Bangkok! And you might even have a true wild elephant walk out on the road to have some roadside snacks! That's certainly a traffic stopper!!!

Khao Yai National Park is truly a must visit when you travel to PakChong, Khao Yai. Although it was lightly raining during our visit, we did not find it disturbing our exploration at all. It on the other hand made us feel more enjoyable.

We spent two days in the park. Entrance fee is 400 bath/person + 30 bath/car. First day we did trail #6 where is mandatory to go with park ranger. It costed 1000 bath/ranger which was quite much. The ranger spoke very little english, walked quickly and the trail wasn't that interesting for the money we paid. After that we did trail #1 around visiter center. It was nice and we saw gibons. Next day we did trail #3 where we saw flying hornbills and elephants at the end near parking lot for watching tower. After that we did trail #5 on our own but it was difficult to see the trail - almost impossible if we didn't have online map app with trails (not google maps - it's not detailed). On the way we met two groups with ranger and he was surprised that we went alone. It wasn't written anywhere that we need a guide. The trail wasn't worth it. So my recommendation - spend one day in park and do trail 1 and 3. Don't pay for ranger, it's waste of money.

Nice place to visit with family. Expensive tickets for foreigners. 400 B doesn’t justify when you have to drive your on car.

It’s so greenery if you visit Khao Yai in rainy season. I really love this place as it’s naturally and surround by wild animals. Good to see the sign not allow to feed food to animals, as I don’t want to see it change animal’s behavior and instinct. Recommend to visit water falls, do natural route walking and visit the cliffs for the view.

This national park is approximately 2 hours driving from Bangkok. The road is good, not too steep. Worth visiting, there are trekking trail, places of camping, natural waterfall. Better check the weather before going! The photos were taken on 17/6/21.

  • 5/5 Sarah Y. 1 year ago on Google
Had too little time here (just 1 full day) but hired a guide from the park’s website to take us around. She didn’t really explain anything about the park itself as we traveled around, but had an amazingly acute sense for spotting wildlife that would’ve been invisible to us. For example a green snake that blended into the trees across the river stream. Visited 2 of the waterfalls, strolled the trail behind the visitors center, and spotted several gibbons on Trail #3. Saw a couple of hornbills as well - they are pretty majestic birds. Would come back again to do one of the longer hikes and hopefully see wild elephants!

Wanted to visit Pha Trom Jai Cliff in the National park, but was turned back by the guards as the military appeared to have some private event going on there on that day. Detoured to visit other viewing points along the route, and did not leave disappointed. Beautiful mountainous views, good cooling air, and even frequent sightings of monkeys, deer and other wildlife. There is also a simple short hike near the visitor Centre which I’d recommend going for.

5 stars for the national park, absolutely best nature spot for everything near Bangkok. LOW STAR RATING because I drove to the south entrance and they tested my bike and said its too loud cant enter. I rode 2 hours AROUND the national park to the NORTH entrance and they let me in there after doing the same test.
