First time I've been in a bird hide that has a woodburner in! Creme de la creme nature reserve. Yorkshire Water have really invested in this place. Good, well maintained paths. 3 hides around the reservoir. Different walking routes. Woodland area. Clean loo block. Decent sized car park with disabled parking bays. No dogs allowed on nature reserve. The main hide with good views of the birds proffers a large book library, comfy lounge area, even has binocular stands available, which I have not come across before. So if you haven't brought your own for some reason, you still get to see the plethora of birds. Lots of habitats with plentiful bird and bat boxes. Really well thought out and cared for nature reserve. Recommended.

Tophill Low Nature Reserve is a very good place to visit for bird watching or just walking. There is a very good paid car park and nice clean toilets. There are plenty of hides around the nature reserve and a cosy visitor centre with excellent views over the lake, a library, and a wood burner to keep you warm on cold days. Dogs are not allowed 🚫.

Amazing place... after a short wait in one of the hides we was able to watch a Kingfisher close up doing a spot of fishing, a Grey Heron on the prowl for some dinner, a large Pheasant and a Buzzard with its catch flying by! Was not disappointed... lots of other various birds about too.

Lovely walk around the reserve, there had been afew sightings of different birds, we just missed out, better luck next time, 😀 my only criticism would be a lack of signage really, other than that it's lovely, well kept, really peaceful.

A nice place to visit with good amenities however there are a lot of men in their mid to late 50s / 60s with massive cameras that camp in the hides for hours. Also it has just been redeveloped and needs time to grow in.

This is a lovely place to explore nature & I got to see my very first kingfisher up close.

Our first visit was many years ago and, each time we visit, more improvements have been made. The paths and walkways are mostly wheelchair accessible and wind through interesting woodlands. The windows in the main centre aren’t great for birdwatchers but there is a separate section that caters for the dedicated birders. Toilets on site are clean and maintained.

Had a fantastic Day there , with lots of birds and wildlife , we were lucky enough to have an hour with the Marsh Harriers , The Down side of it was My husband wore shorts and didn't realize until we got home that he was bitten all over his exposed skin . so a word of warning is wear appropriate clothing , We will definitely re visiting

👍 Lots of steps down to the beach, caves and rock pools but worth it. Walk along the cliff tops and look down at the seals , pn the right hand side. Saw dolphins or porpoises too, in a group of about 6. Cafe, bat, shop and paid parking.

👍👍 It's a great little place to take the family. You could easily get around the place in a short time but, they have a lot of free roaming animals for you to look out for to really make the best of your time there. It replicates a jungle with a warm, humid atmosphere. If the heat gets to you, you are...

👍 Nice and quiet beach, next to farm land so you'll get a strong smell of cow and horse manure but you soon get over it and you won't notice it if you go close to the water. Car parking is free but it's small, so you may struggle to park but you can park on the side or the main road and walk to the be...
