This is my happy place and definitely my cup of tea ;). My SIL introduced us to this place & just wow. Everything about this place is amazing. Crystals, salt lamps, books, tarot and oracle cards, jewelry, blankets and so much more!!! It is quite spacious and full of so many great finds. I'm obsessed!!

I genuinely enjoyed a lot of the employees here but certain people seem to be rather patronizing and rude. I purchased a pair or pants and a beautiful ring from here. Too bad both of them were cheaply made and extremely overpriced. The pants have ripped in three different spots already and the band of the ring broke almost immediately. Because of their terrible return policy (especially with jewelry) there’s not much a can do about this. I spent over $100 on two items both of which have broke within one week. I know the owner responds to most reviews so before you say something snarky like you do to others about how I should have been more careful or something along those lines, you do not know me or how I treat my belongings. I treat the things I own with extreme care because I can’t afford not to. Extremely disappointed.

The place is always peaceful and clean etc. I've not had many interactions with staff that left the best impression and a lit of the items could be ordered on wish but it's a nice little excursion. I've had 2 readings there and neither blew me away. A good place to look and touch and spend an hour of your day. Lots of product.

Okay my visit was last fall but this store is so beautiful and I wish I lived closer to explore more often. Their COVID practices were so comforting and you can tell everyone that works there cared. It’s still fresh on my mind, this store is impressive. Last year I got a reading from Meghan and I loved it. She gave me sincere advice and was spot on. I felt actually seen. She told me to save a picture of the reading with notes to reflect on and gave me journal questions to work with. She gave me the idea to save everything in my calendar for right before September so I have a future date to reflect on (today). September was the month she said there was a big time stamp of everything changes as a result of my work. Next week I am signing the lease to a new apartment in a new city to start my new job. I also have a new legal name so this feels surreal. A year ago I didn’t think I could be this happy as I am today.

I give this place three stars because it’s a nice atmosphere with a lot to look at. Some stuff can be overpriced and the cheaper stuff is “you pay for what you get”. I usually come here for readings but not too often since my last experience was not good. Then recently I decided to give it another try with a reader I was told was “popular” and I thought I would connect with her. I am in a hard place in life and although the reader was nice, I walked out feeling worse with no clarity and upset of wasted money. The reader asked a lot of questions which made me feel that’s how they got to be able to “read me”. I’m mad that I never voiced how I felt because I figured I’d get the I’m sorry speech and no refund or trying to save an upset customer which is probably what it is. After leaving it always made me feel worse than when I walked in. I feel like I’ve wasted so much money here and prior at the old location trying to give it a try or with someone new in hopes of the clarity I need in my heart. I don’t know what’s real anymore, what’s the truth and what isn’t based on these readings I’ve gotten and everyone telling me something different! It’s like is it true? One person tells me something and another readers tell me the opposite. Talked about confused when you are already struggling. What I also disliked more than no clarity, is wasted money. Makes me skeptical if these readers really can do what they are “equipped to do”. I’m just disappointed, upset, and giving this place one last chance and then I just don’t see the point in coming back because if I keep going in and walking out feeling WORSE, something about it..the people just is not for me.

Came in here on my birthday this my wife and then you would be pleasantness. The energy was very positive and our cashier was professional very friendly. She was very knowledgeable and helpful with us looking for particular books. Also the bathroom was the cleanest I've ever been in. Overall a very pleasant experience and will be back again

Always have loved this place the people! Been going here for years even the older location before hand! I moved north haven't been in quite sometime but next time I'm down Def stopping in. To get some new goodies! Highly recommend.

Going in I knew I just wanted to look around. There is a LOT going for this place. It seems to be divided up into different areas. The 1st space looked like it was dedicated to stones with books on the side shelves. And if you are wanting a variety of stones this IS your place. The 2nd area was a lot more books and jewelry and candles (my favorite) and cards. I didn't even make to the tea area but I know I won't be disappointed. I will be going back for sure! Also the staff who helped was so kind and helpful.

It has a nice set up, but the people that work there are just that, they are not healers, or witches or even psychic they do not know anything about anything really other than prices, where as at other shops like this you have true people who are in touch with magic and energies and knowledgeable on so much other than what can I sell you on. The energy was so off for me when I went here with in 5 minutes I wanted to leave. I won't be coming back here negative vibes, lame staff. #thankyounext

The tea room bookstore in ann arbor closed.. But we found the Boston tea room in Ferndale and it's better..

The sound bath events are great. I went to one while it was raining pretty heavily outside and it was a great, refreshing, and restful experience. I've gone back since and had a similar experience though I think I'll remember the one with the epic rain addition for a long time to come. .... planning with the weather in mind can really hard in advance but it is a good idea to plan ahead as the start time is pretty solid. ***** Our most recent visit was not as pleasant but this was due to another customer who was there despite being sick 😷 without a face mask and kept touching their face. So no star reduction. *****

Pleasant workers. Reader Charise was excellent. From beginning to end, initially she hit everything. Without input from me. Small cup of Herb tea, while I waited, was very good. Tons of minerals & crystals. Nice jewelry selection too.

One of the most impressive metaphysical shops I ever visited! A vast array of crystals, stones, cards, jewelry, etc etc. And readers as well. Next time around I will definitely check out their reading talents! If you are in the Ferndale area stop by, you won't be disappointed.😁

I love coming here. Their entire selection is massive and you can spend a long time just browsing through everything they have in their shop. I’ve gotten crystals, books, and a bracelet before. Seemed fairly price, wasn’t too expensive. I had a reading before and it was great. I’ve also taken a few of Charise’s classes and she does a great job. I always feel much more knowledgeable on the classes topics once it is over. Everyone is always very nice and willing to answer any questions I may have. I highly recommend going there. Also, make sure you do your research on each person before scheduling a reading. Make sure you read their bios because it helps you get a better understanding of who might be the best fit for you if you have certain questions or topics you want to go over in your reading. I think too many of the people leaving negative reviews just schedule with someone before reading up on them beforehand, and then when they end up not being the best match, they feel cheated.

This is such a cool store! I always find an interesting book, or some other thing to purchase. They have lots of crystals, jewelry, candles, and tarot/oracle decks. And of course they have all kinds of tea! Whether you are interested in this store for spiritual reasons, or because you appreciate the aesthetic, it's a fun place to visit. Plus, all of the staff I've met has been so friendly and welcoming!

John was so sweet and kind to me helping with starting my journey into spirituality and manifestation!!! I highly recommend going here, the staff are so helpful and the energy in the building is so uplifting and nice. If I lived closer I’d come here every week. I’ll definitely be back for group meditation next week!!!!

When I need to just be and clear my head this is my sanctuary. I can spend easily 2 hours in this cozy place. I always have a cup of tea and I'll work, rest, just.be and tap into my magic which always heightens when my feet hits BTR. My favorite reader is V who is always on time with the tough love, empowerment and business advice. I am a fan, a customer and a supporter. PS. The decor and visuals are impeccable!!!

I’ve been coming to the Boston Tea Room for probably 8 years for readings and highly recommend the readers. They all have their own style and tools they use, so you need to find who you vibe with. I’ve had one negative experience in 8 years with a reading that I felt was totally off, spoke to the management afterwards and was credited. I really appreciated how they handled it (to my knowledge, that reader is not on staff any longer). I’ve also purchased a variety of tarot decks, books and jewelry and have found the retail staff to be kind and helpful. We are very lucky to have this store in Metro Detroit. Check ‘em out!

I've been shopping here for years and have been unable to shop since their move. The location is more difficult to get to and I feel like their pricies continue to sky rocket and become more and more unaccessible as it was in the past. Being the fact it's one of the only metaphysical shops available I understand the crazy high pricing. However, because of the pricing of the items, this store has turned into more of my guilty pleasure/treat then it is my goto store to restock on my necessities. I've also been unable to visit or shop since their hours were cut down, they're only open when I'm at work! And they removed alot of their extras such as their weekend meditations :( They have great variety and atmosphere. I wouldn't use this as your place to restock on consistently used items, but it's great for gifts and a place to treat yourself to something special.

My friend got kicked out for talking shop. Apparently if you read for fun you can’t tell others in the store that because they have store readers. A lot of assumption on the owners part and ultimately hostility when my friend was trying to communicate that they felt the owner was making a whole lot of unnecessary assumptions. Store is nice. Prices are nice. But ultimately, not worth it for me now that my friend is being discriminated against.

Plan on allowing plenty of time to visit this store. There are lots of amazing things to look at. You easily lose track of time browsing! You can book an appointment for a reading or just come in and look at the amazing things to purchase. Don't forget to go up to the tea shop before you go home and get a nice cup of tea. You can also purchase tea accessories and tea.

The crystals, the beauty, the shopping, the jewelry, ….it’s like walking into heaven. Pictures won’t do it justice. They never do! The intuitives and mediums are the real deal. Charisse read me like a book and I hear Kelly is amazing as well. Remember to try their beautiful teas too. Between the hospital management and having met the owner this place is sincere in its quest to offer us the best on every level <3

Visited for the first time the other night. Staff was warm and inviting, as was the atmosphere. Endless information, crystals, candles, books, and more. I haven't had one yet, but I'll be back for a reading <3
