HOW DOES THIS PLACE HAVE ANY GOOD REVIEWS?! Horrible. Period. Yes they have a wide selection but almost all of their fish are sick. It’s clear they are overstocked and under staffed or something. They’re literally selling huge exotic fish covered in illness’. The front staff was seriously eating pizza pockets at the counter and sitting them next to the spot they keep fish for people on a paper plate. A lot of them are just chilling and doing nothing meanwhile all their tanks look awful. Their fish interbreed so a ton of the guppies they have have severe spine issues. They claim this is “common” but it is only common because you allow it and provide terrible water conditions. I was extremely disappointed and left feeling very depressed. Maybe this place was great at one point but they have fallen far from that.

Disease infested tanks. Bacteria infections, parasite, white spot diseases, blisters, and more. Most tanks are not maintained. They don't turn off the lights at night to let the fish rest. They are always turn to pale, or lose color after being there for a week. If you want to purchase here, quarantine and treat the fish before letting them in the main tanks. I made a mistake and half my tank 30+ died due to bacteria infection. Heavy antibiotic was used to save the remainning. I attached some photos of their fish in 1 tank so you can see. Check out other tanks, same issues. Healthy fish will be excited to see you everytime you walk by. Not here.

I've never seen so many tropical fish in one place. Every kind size and every color. I could have spent a full day of enjoyment just looking at all the availably of fish and supplies. All fish seemed to be healthy and employees were knowledgeable of their products. I don't see how anyone could go wrong shopping there.

Texas Aquatics was a friendly experience with tons of different kind of fish, used and new tanks, feeder fish, etc. I called about some plants and they had guppy grass where no other stores in the DFW area within my reach had, plus lots of other plants. I will say that I didn't properly quarantine or treat the plants as I didn't have time and ended up getting Bladder Snails in my tank, so be aware that you may get some freebies that you may or may not want.

Amazing staff and huge selections of fish and all freshwater needs. Good luck because you’ll be inside for hours looking at fish. I picked up three pea puffers and was given a small bag of snails for free. Excellent packing at no extra cost to survive a 22 hour trip to ny. I also picked up a plant and when I got it home it was the perfect plant for my tank set up.

Since this store has a similar name to another, I accidentally called the wrong store when looking for help. But actually they ended up being super helpful, probably moreso than the original store I was trying to contact would have been. I would definitely contact them again if I needed help. Their staff seem very knowledgeable. I can only imagine how good their actual store must be.

Recently purchased more than 25 tropical fish. All the fish survived a 5 hour road trip back to west Texas. Excellent service and attentiveness. This will be my store of for tropical fish in the future.

This has been my go-to for freshwater aquarium fish for over a year. Very knowledgeable staff and very patient with both customers and a new staff member. Even though busy, they will walk the entire store to find a certain fish if you forgot where it was. The prices are quite fair and it's not a super "pretty" store, but everything I've gotten from the pretty Dallas stores don't live their expectancy and the staff gives really bad advice, like telling me a crayfish (lobster) won't chase my exotic goldfish.. yeah.. the crayfish killed them. . I've not had any issues with TA. You won't please everyone who walks in your doors, but I've not had a bad experience here yet. My brother and his gf bought fish from them and drove all the way to Memphis, Tennessee and every fish made it to their new home alive and well.. after an 8 hour car trip. Great place to buy used aquarium set ups also.

Love this place and use it to stock all 7 of my aquariums. Great selection, something new every time I go (I go several times a month) and the staff are so helpful. Tori knew exactly what I was looking for and and fast and friendly at getting me checked out at my last visit.

I come here sometimes with my son. I am a huge Betta fish lover and I absolutely admire how they care for them (as well as the other fish they have there). The staff is always kind and knowledgeable and helpful. Love it

We just made another purchase at Texas Aquatics today. They had sold us our very first 20 gal tank (as well as all the beautiful fish and accoutrements) about a month ago. It was a birthday present for our son. Today's trip was for the bottom feeder fish (and Mystery Snail!) which completes our son's little ecosystem. I could go on and on about our good experiences here. They are obviously passionate about what they do ... as well as sharing what they know. They have a huge selection of fish and other needed items to make freshwater fish friendly homes. What's most notable is the staff: they are professional and courteous. We LOVED how patient and friendly Canton was with the hundreds of questions thrown at him by both us and our 2 (very excited) kids. He even let our lil savages net the brand new Panda fish from their tank. They had such a good time. Folks like Canton (as well as all the other staff) made these purchases fun and easy. Don't take my word for it. Go check this place out for yourself! We will be returning. :)

I’ve been to this fish store 2x now & each time I’ve gone has been great! They have a huge selection of fish each time from BIG to small. The help there is great and each of the ladies that helped me are amazing. 10 out of 10 recommend this place.

Decent selection of overpriced fish but they don’t offer any guarantee. I bought $60 of fish that did not make it 12 hours. The addition of fish to my tank from THIS store ended up killing $200 of additional fish already established for months in the tank. When contacted they said they would give “some” credit without elaborating, but then ceased contact. Buyer beware! Use caution when buying from a store that will not guarantee their fish. I will not buy anything from the store ever again and do not recommend this store.

This place is my favorite place to go to with my husband. We are both super invested in aquatics. Staff always happy to help and very knowledgeable. If you're looking for something specific they're willing to work with you and try to schedule a delivery. They also have a facebook page that helps you see what new fishes they got. Been going here for a year and got around 70 to 100 fish. 💯 recommend.

Great store! Way better than any chain stores for all your aquarium needs. And the staff was great! Tori and Canton were especially helpful with getting our tank set up.
