I see Kate Hamilton and I love her but something has changed about the office staff/management somewhere. Being on hold an hour to make an appointment. This morning I woke up to $600 being taken from my bank account with no warning. I checked my insurance it wasnt billed and I haven't been billed either. I called the office and pushed "4" to reach billing. After holding and being disconnected twice I finally spoke with a lady that said they no longer do their billing. I asked why the phone line still came to them and she had no answer. I called the office again and I was put through to recorders of people in billing. Paige who was the person i supposedly needed to speak to had her voicemail stating to leave her a message if i had questions on a surgery estimate but if i had questions on billing to call another number. I called back and was put on hold repeatedly. And a person named Kathy thinks she knows how to muffle a phone while she spoke to the office manager Melissa, making snarky remarks and mocking my request to speak to a live person until Melissa finally decided to take the call and "give me the call I'll tell her". I have left Kate a message. The office has gone to hell.

Although the doctors and physicians I have worked with are great, the office staff and phone operators are terrible. It's a stressful and painstakingly long process to try to get ahold of anyone, especially to schedule an appointment. What kind of business requires you to leave a message to schedule a procedure in the first place? Anyways, I've been trying for a week to schedule my next injections. I got a call a couple of days ago saying someone else would be calling me to schedule the appointment. Why?? What was the point in that call? Considering schedule with another orthopedic group to do my injections since Louisville OC doesn't seem to want to schedule my appointment. UPDATE: changed my review to a one star because it took almost 3 weeks to get my injections scheduled. Then they said I had to pay for them by calling Paije 24 hrs prior to my appt. My appt is Thursday and I have tried 7 times to pay and have left 6 messages over the last 2 weeks to pay. Apparently this place doesn't respect my time and doesn't want my money, so I'll find a new place to go.

UPDATE: Won’t be removing this or updating the stars until this office staff situation is fixed, however, talking with their office manager (Becky) and then Dr. Kuiper directly, this is obviously not how things should’ve gone. Dr. Kuiper is world class, and will always continue to recommend him! Dr. Kuiper did a great job on my surgery, however, the offices (both New Albany and Louisville) are run by a bunch of buffoons. According to the office and call in staff, before you make your appointment, ensure that you have an indeterminate amount of time available after that appointment. “They are orthopedic surgeons, it takes time.” Was in their waiting room close to an hour in NA and hadn’t been called back. I kid you not, I was told it was unreasonable that 1) I expected the appointment to be on time (they had been open 70 whole minutes) and 2) It was unreasonable I would schedule myself to be anywhere within 1.5 hours of my appointment time. Further, when rescheduling, a week out for an appointment 10 minutes after they opened, I asked if I could make an 1100 appointment after it - “we can’t guarantee that.” Absolutely great doctor, utterly horrendously run business and support staff. Unless you just have an affinity for the doctor you want to see, go see anyone else.

Rating the office staff - not the doctor. I just spent 30 minutes making one appointment and the receptionist hung up on me. Very unprofessional. I was put on hold 5 times and had to talk with 3 individuals. I am a returning patient but was told I couldn't make an appointment until I had medical records sent over from a previous surgery. When I made my first appointment, many months ago, I was told the same exact thing about medical records, which I sent so they should already be on file. The first receptionist I spoke with was very rude and didn't explain anything. I asked to speak with someone else, receptionist #2. Then, I spoke with a third person, who tried to tell me I couldn't make the appointment and basically repeated the same thing the other two had communicated. Once I was transferred back to the first receptionist, she hung up on me before I could ask her to repeat the date and time of my appointment. "Changes to the office protocol and training" were given as the reason for the long process of simply making an appointment. Wow. It's rare that one experiences customer service THIS bad!! I just called back to verify the appointment in case the initial receptionist was angry enough to wipe out my information. It's a shame that the level of professionalism held by the office staff can reflect so negatively on an otherwise stellar group of doctors.

My husband has received a series of steroidal epidural shots for sciatica pain. His first two shots went well and were very beneficial. The third has been a nightmare and I must say the after care and staff response to our calls of concern has been atrocious. Primary care physician also unable to speak to anyone of help. No previous complaints with doctors care but tremendously upset with how staff dealt with patients concern/pain.

I have been a long time patient of Louisville orthopedics and pleased until recently when I saw Dr. Kuiper for a shoulder issue. MRI was done and I was informed I had a frozen shoulder. I declined a cortisone injection and was only mentioned of manipulation so on 6/7 that was performed. Went in for follow up today 6/17 for him to not even remember when my procedure was done(a week ago) and then he told me I needed surgery to repair but I refused which I did not and he argued about that with me. Said my range of motion was ok( its no better than it was before the procedure) and when my husband told him I'm in more pain, he just had a blank stare on his face and didn't respond. Why would I decline surgery when it wasn't even presented to me as an option. I do not appreciate being told I said something when in fact I didn't and why would I decline fixing my shoulder when I'm the one that went to the dr to begin with. I will not be returning to Louisville orthopedics again. I have an appt on 6/22 with a surgeon at a different practice to in fact get my shoulder fixed the proper way that should have been done in the first place and I will not recommend anyone waste your money or time at this facility that obviously doesn't care about their patients.

Dr Quill at this office is very hard to see. Showed up for appointment today, I had to schedule months out, to find out doctor is out and I need to reschedule. Such a huge inconvenience as I had to request off from work for this appointment. Very disappointed in accessibility to the provider. Now I will have to request more time off from work for which they just shrug their shoulders, not ok.

If you can avoid this place, avoid it. They see the phrase workmen's comp and they immediately act like you're faking. They tell you that your next step is surgery, but then say "oh surgery won't be good for you." They schedule you an appointment, for a cortisone shot you desperately need, that you tell them is the only day you can come in because it's literally the only weekday you have off, and then call you a couple days before and say "oh well, umm, he's got surgery that day" but he didn't have survey planned last week when i called to make the appointment? And when you tell them you can't make it any other time that day because you have 2 appointments that morning they try to schedule you for the times you literally just told th that you cannot be there for. If you like incompetence, this is the place for you!

Worst office staff ever! The billing department is ridiculous! They always say I owe bills from a year prior and can’t explain why then they won’t see me until it’s paid. I paid a past due balance and a lady who said her name was Jennifer double charged me and even had entered the wrong coin amount (I paid over the phone) told me the first payment didn’t go through. Well it charged me twice. I kept calling asking for a refund on the second charge and they kept saying they will send it “up to the manager” I never heard back. I had to dispute the charge At my bank, get a new debit card # and everything . Then they sent me to collections over the same charge they duplicated ! I have shown statements and proof of payment and now am having to fight with the collection agency to show proof! I switched doctors . I never seen the actual MD anyways even when I was going to schedule surgery they never let me see MY DOCTOR line they used to! I highly recommend Dr Brandon McClure and his staff At Baptist Health! They are very professional and a much better doctor, I actually pay to see the MD not the PA! EDIT:::I have emailed you. My name is Ashley Sanders DOB 6/22/1989 and no one has ever emailed me back or got back with me

They're crooks!!! If insurance doesn't pay, they'll give you the "private pay" option on the phone, so there's no official doucmentation, then try to bill you an ADDITIONAL $600 months after the procedure. This is what I am dealing with. I have paid the original amount as stated by Paije, and have a receipt, yet now they have debt collectors harassing me. I have tried calling the billing department multiple times and they refuse to answer or return my call. Either someone calls me back, or I'll be taking this to my lawyer. And don't try commenting back that you have no record of me or this situation. This company is not getting a dime more from me.

I was very pleased with my appointment. The wait time was acceptable. The person doing my X-rays was very nice & professional, as was the nurse that came in & took the information about my visit. Amanda was very good at explaining the procedure of giving me a shot in my toe and what it would be like if I had surgery. Over all it was a good visit. The only complaint would be that it was too cold in the rooms.

Amanda Allison was very personable. She thoroughly explained the MRI results, and even though I'm not a fan of needles, she assured me it wouldn't be that bad. She was understanding and kindly talked me through the procedure.

My fiance made an appointment and told them he needs an MRI. While being worked up, he had to show the triage person how to push the choose the correct option in her EMR. Then he goes into the exam lane and the room was not cleaned up from the previous exam. Finally a NP comes in and gave him less than a 30 second exam, telling him he needs an MRI. After scheduling the MRI, they called and left a voicemail canceling the appointment for the ER. So after all this, he schedules an appointment with another ortho to try and get an MRI. HOWEVER because Louisville Ortho had already gotten a prior auth for the MRI, the insurance company wouldn't give a new one to the new practice. So he called to reschedule with Louisville Ortho. 5 days later, he hadn't heard back so he called them back only to be told that they refused to do it because he went to a second practice. So, after speaking with the insurance company, they refused to release the prior auth. Now, he still cannot get anyone to respond to him from Louisville Ortho. Its been weeks and now he is concerned that his calf muscle is beginning to atrophy. And still cannot get a call back from anyone at this practice. As someone who works in Healthcare, this is shameful. Hopefully this review forces them to actually take care of him.

Dr. Yakkanti is the best doctor I have ever seen. If you need surgery you will be in excellent hands with Dr. Yakkanti. He is skilled, yes, but he also listens to what you have to say and so easy to talk to. I am so blessed that he was my surgeon for my knee replacements.

Amanda Allison and staff are amazing! Knowledgeable and patient when explaining my injury and helping me with the resolution without pressuring or pushing me in any way. The open MRI process was quick and painless! And the front desk staff were so efficient and friendly, which honestly is not easy to find anymore!! They are truly the “chic-fil-a” service of the ortho world with amazing personalities!!! Thank you for turning a tough situation into a great experience and a better life in the long run!

Oh my from the receptionist to the one who takes you to your room & the one who takes X-rays & then to your dr. All very professional & very friendly & sweet. Dr Richard Sweet even though he’s retired now he & Kate Hamilton made the best team. Kate Hamilton & Richard Sweet they are the very Best !!! So Grateful for both of them for all they did to make everything go smoothly. I had both knees replaced five wks apart & so glad I came here. Because I feel great from having them done. I went back for my 5 yr check up & everything was good . I would highly recommend them over & over again.

Originally, I posted a review and as usual I should have waited. Then I could have really seen how excellent the staff is at Louisville orthopedic. These guys do more than just broken bones they do arthritis and a plethora of things that I definitely needed. The staff here is so knowledgeable and so friendly that I love calling the doctor's office and that's the first time in years. I had some issues I sent Dr Eads a text. He called me the next day we had a conversation he set my mind at ease. I would recommend Louisville orthopedic to anyone suffering from any of the problems that these guys take care of. And the ladies that work here and answer the phone and deal with the patients are so kind and humble that I will be happy to go to the doctor. Thank you

Amanda was very thorough in explaining the problem I was having with my foot/ankle. After making sure I completely understood she presented me with my options. Choosing what I believed would be best for me Amanda began getting the scheduling process in motion. I'm completely satisfied with my visit.

Came to Louisville Orthopedic as a referral from a friend and I would refer everyone here. John Lewis & Amanda Allison have been the greatest as I navigated my first surgery. From explaining my problem to helping me get recovered from my Achillies surgery.

Remy Lamphere, PA, was excellent. She really took the time to help me understand the scans. I’m in a lot pain and I left feeling optimistic.

Tore my Achilles Tendon and called LOC the next morning. Amanda Allison, MSN, APRN with Dr. Lewis, immediately called me back and saw me in the office same day. She was very polite, professional, and knowledgable about the injury. She set up a Surgery for me the next week to have the injury repaired. Could not have asked for a better experience with LOC. Definitely would recommend to see Amanda Allison, if you need care with foot and ankle injury!!

Amanda Allison was absolutely phenomenal as well as the rest of the staff. She was very informative of my condition and took her time to answer any and all the questions I had. I did not have to wait for a long time in the waiting room like a lot of specialist offices. I would highly recommend Louisville Orthopedic Clinic and Amanda Allison!

As a healthcare professional myself, I found the practice poorly ran, communication was limited, and timely appointment expectation not met.

Have seen 2 different doctors, have had 2 different surgeries. Have not received the proper post operative care after surgery. Answers to post operative question are non existent. Will not do authorization for medication even though doctor prescribed it.

I had an mri scheduled this morning at 9am. I drove over an hour to get there and be told it wasn't approved by my insurance. I ask why I wasn't called and was told my info was given to a lady to call me that wasnt at work yesterday.Once I contacted my insurance I was told no one had even called to get an approval.. Not a good way to treat a new patient. Waste of my time and gas.
