The place is nice to learn about the heritage of Karnataka. The museum is informative and the life-size sculptures are nice too. Take atleast 3-4 hours to explore it completely and enjoy nature around

The Environment here is amazing! You will get to see and learn about our ancestors and how they used to live back in those days. The sculptures here are super realistic and life-like. The detailing around the huts and houses is beautiful. The Entry fee is 50/- for Adults and 25/- for Children. Best place to visit if one is planning on a long drive towards Ramnagara, and plan of chilling at someplace along the way. There are few shops at the entrance selling wooden Chinnapatna toys and antiques as well. Overall well maintained and clean place.

It's a huge place covering around 15 acres of land on the Bangalore-Mysore highway. A definite must visit place to know Karnataka's folk arts. It gives a very good knowledge on all the folk cultures at each location in Karnataka. During Sunday's, any one of the folk form artists perform at the front stage. The people at each museum are also knowledgeable to explain the background.

Experience will be great for the people who like and are interested about classical and historical events/things of Karnataka ( especially). A good amount of time (2 hrs) can be spent enjoying the arts and the models displayed (very realistic). They have demonstrated the village life style in a very beautiful manner. Kids play area, ponds, museum and many more. Parking can be a concern as we have to park the cars outside next to the Highway.. If you are not such kind of a person, then it doesn't make much sense driving far from the city to just visit and come back as there are no other exciting places nearby.

Pleasant place for a day out. We can see how our culture is/was here. There are many statues describing our culture, tradition and village life. Good place for kids too. You can easily spend couple of hours or more here, enjoy the atmosphere and take some good pics too. You can have a good breakfast or lunch in Kamat Lokaruchi just next to this place.

Nice place for people with cultural interests. Entry is charged 50/- for adults and 25/- for children. There is a play area for children. Also there is a videoscope show which is charged extra, 10/- per head. If you happen to stop by at Kamat Lokruchi for a quick break you can as well check this place.

The very first thing is you have to buy a ticket. To be frank the museum inside isn't good enough. Overall the place is good and you can spend a couple of hours clicking good photos. The best part is they have very realistic status and they have tried to showcase village culture by replicating the basic things. The intention is to tie you back to the roots of culture prevalent to the natives of Karnataka.

The place was good for a one day trip from Bengaluru. Your can easily find the place from the highway. They take 100 rs for ticket. I found the sculptures really astonishing. They look so real that you will really be amazed. Must see the dog sculptures. There was a washroom and drinking water facility available. Adding so many photos and videos. 😁

Wanna feel the experience of visiting a village? Then this is a must visit. The entire area has been well maintained. Especially the tribal village looks too good. Special thanks to the guards out there who take their time to explain every single detail regarding the village.

Good place for half day outing with entire family. Need better maintenance of artefacts and display pieces. Better have paid electric buggy for movement inside the facility as it is too bud to travel on foot especially during summer. No dedicated parking space. Kamat Lokaruchi hotel next door serves best food.

Nice place. Its a place where kids and adults both will enjoy. It makes you nostalgic of your past, and gives you the sense of simplicity of life we had. Nice effort by team to protect the rich heritage in folk arts, dance, music. You can buy wooden ecofriendly innovative toys, show pieces for your home decor. Keep 2-3 hours time for it.

Janapada Loka is a calm and beautiful place to visit. It displays the folk culture of rural Karnataka. Best place to educate school children about culture of Karnataka. The place is very spacious and takes around 2-3hrs to view museums and statues in it. There is a small play area for children. The place is well maintained. Recommended if you need a peaceful outing with family.

Entry fee for adults is 100 Rs. There is parking space available. No food available inside. We should eat outside. The place was not crowded. But try to avoid on sunny days. Basically they have different statues and huts etc. Children will like it. There were a few ducks also.

An exclusive folk museum of village folk arts of Karnataka. Has many artifacts to look at. A large area to cover by and beautifully designed it thoughtfully section wise at each stage. It has a village ambience with lots of green cover overhead. The entire area is divided into different segments and each segment displays a specific style. Artifacts belong to folk culture, instruments of music, agriculture and farming. This beautiful place is situated about 50kms from Bengaluru. The perfect destination for a weekend to chill out which is right next to an amazing restaurant Kamat Lokaruchi if looking out for a different kind of relaxation for a unique weekend. Not to miss the breathtaking sceneries and landscapes alongside the new Bengaluru Mysore Expressway.

The best experience you will get here is amazing Dollu kunitha and all traditional dances, which was played during my grandfather time, we can see here 1299 per head which includes breakfast. Lunch, tea, snacks is worth full. And the breakfast, lunch is mind blowing, so tastefully served in Banana leaf. Worth it #Thinni_Chennagiiri 😁

One can know about the different cultures and tribal types available in Karnataka (including the migrated culture). They have some historical and cultural collections from around KN. Kids will surely love this place. Some crafts and toys shops are present at this location which you can try. The location has facility for parking and also washrooms as you enter. Entry for adult is 100 rupees when I'm writing this review. If you are travelling between Bangalore and Mysore then I would suggest go by Channapatna route as there a few good places that you can visit, like this one and also Aprameya Krishna temple, Malur lake near the temple and also Sri Kengal Anjaneya Swamy. This location also has a small forest trial and it is good. Kamat hotel is just adjacent to this as you can stop by with your family to enjoy the ambience.

A good overview of folk heritage of Karnataka. But a place for proud Kannadigas and not for outsiders, because it is not maintained very clean and not too much of entertainment quotient. If you are proud of your culture and are interested in learning, you will have a great time. You can spend half to full day here.

  • 5/5 Girish R. 4 years ago on Google
Nice place and well maintained. Karnataka’s culture is well depicted using statues. Lot of old statues which dates backs to 1100BC. Greenery all along the place. Peaceful place to go along with your family and little ones.
