Nicks is our #1 stop every time we visit our family in Brookings. If we’re lucky we can have Nicks 2-3 times on a trip. I love just ketchup on my single burger, the bun melts in your mouth, it’s basic, flavorful and perfection! I also like their relish on a single. The mix of mustard and dill pickle is so good. My order is usually one of each, ketchup and relish or two with ketchup one with relish. My whole family loves the burgers here. I remember going to Nick’s as a kid and having a chocolate milk with my burger. I just wish there was a Nick’s in AZ!

Great little place built in 1929. Sitting at the bar and having hamburgers plopped right on a piece of wax paper in front of you. Doesn't get any more authentic than that! The strawberry shake was awesome, and the strawberry Rhubarb pie was as good as my Mom's

Probably THE best hamburger bun I've ever had in my entire life. Truly remarkable. No matter where I find myself this Earth in my travels, I can now confidently state that Nick's Hamburger Shop in Brookings SD is the best bun left on this Earth. The burgers are delicious (and you'll likely order more than one 😁). Friendly people, delicious burgers. This little hamburger shop has kept some of the old ways of doing things intact - and that makes this a real gem of a burger shop.

The kid that took our order was hands down the best! He knew everything on menu off the top of his hand explained everything super well. The staff was very friendly. Even tords the last minute stop ins. They are a rock star place, and perfect sized burgers for people with small tummies. Thank you everyone who works there, and everything you guys do! Keep up the great work kid I can see you going places!

Great family business. Very popular. Could use more seating but the old fashioned atmosphere makes up for it. Fits the town well and would go here over Mc Donald's or burger King any day.

Admittedly, I was not super impressed with the burger. They use mustard in the relish. I didn’t know that. But, they still earn five stars. Really neat place. Check it out. I will be back next year to try the burger without the relish.

Good burgers but not very filling. Good for a quick bite to eat but not dinner unless u buy like 4 burgers. 12 bucks for a pop and 2 burgers ( a single and double with cheese)

Absolutely delicious hamburger joint. Very simple and made to order. Hard to fix something not broken, but I would prefer diced onions and steam buns (just my preference). My brother in law also loved his burger. They wrote the book on customer service, especially in Brookings I'll be a repeat customer any time I visit Brookings for a sack of 12

Great little hamburger joint. Been around for a very long time. Very friendly staff!! Super clean place. Their shakes are super thick and delicious!! I always enjoy coming here for a few burgers. Yes a little on the higher side for price...but the burgers are real berf and fresh made as you wait for them! Highly recommend stopping in for a coupke sliders! Totally forgot to take a few pictures of my meal. Guess I'll need to stopnin again very soon, to snap a couple pictures of my food.

My 80 year old boss has told me about this place for years. I finally made it and tried the burger with relish. Never have I ever had a better burger. Rumor has it they use the whole cow and tallow and it just tastes delicious. The malt was exactly what I needed to enjoy the burger even more. Great service. Loved the old school stool at the counter experience. Definitely a place to detour off the interstate for.

Burgers were amazing, make sure you get the double as they are not real big but the flavor makes up for it. The malts were also one of the best I've ever had. Reasonably priced and good seating outside.

The hamburgers are always cooked thoroughly and delicious...as they have been for many years and decades. I ordered 3 at the time of the Arts Festival and they were particularly tasty after my 55 mile bike ride to Brookings.

Time warp back to the simple glory days of diner eating. Great burgers. Attentive and friendly staff. Good pricing.
