I really wanted to help out the nice manager/owner with a decent review as his friendliness was refreshing. The lobby was in decent shape (not like photos, though). And the price was lower than other hotels near by, which is a plus. However... I'll start with the electrical. I noticed problems with the lamps in my room as soon as I arrived. They posed a real risk of electrocution, possibly fire risk. They were metal lamp bases with electrical outlets in the base hanging loose, exposing the wiring to the metal base. A wrong touch and zap. I informed the manager, stating I didn't need new ones, but they needed to be thrown out immediately. We left for dinner and when we returned, someone had gone up and plugged them back in! So they didn't even seem to understand. There were so many fire code violations in our "newly renovated" room. I've attached photos of some of the electrical problems, these are only a few, the most serious, of what I observed in our room. The microwave had to be unplugged to stop running, so we were afraid to use that. The back of the toilet was loose. There was no working fan in the bathroom, though there was a mystery light switch that didn't do anything. On a related note, curious black splotches were on the walls of the bathroom (mold?). The floating PVC flooring was nice & new, though not correctly installed (either the subfloor wasn't leveled or it was put in too tight and was bowing). Some skylights were broken with duct tape over the holes. There were ants all over the room. The safety of the guests seems to be completely disregarded in other areas, as well. We went to use the pool the day before we were scheduled to check out and there was broken glass. Obviously, this isn't the hotel's fault. I reported the glass to the manager/owner. He swept up the glass near the pool and said his maintenance guy had already vacuumed the pool, so it was safe. However, clearly visible on the top step of the pool was a chunk of glass. I pointed it out, and he insisted it was completely safe. If you know anything about broken glass in pools, you know how hard it is to fix the problem. It is most definitely NOT safe to swim with glass shards. We had finished the reason for our stay in Hutchinson, so we just went ahead and packed up to leave a day earlier than planned. When I took the room key to check out, there was a family headed toward the pool. I stated again, there is glass in the pool, you need to close the pool (usually 2 hours, unless local code expressly states you have to empty it & dry it completely). Or at the very least warn people! I absolutely could not believe he was allowing people to swim with broken glass. I really hope no one got hurt. We reserved 6 nights in June '22, stayed 5 of them. We paid eighty-five/night (including taxes). I really think it's only a matter of time before someone staying at this hotel is seriously injured or worse. Please stay somewhere else!!!

What a waste!!! The hotel appeared to be run by hoarders. No one was around the counter to get checked in. They had the music turned up loud when I walked in. The public restroom was blocked off. The room appeared to have a cigarette butt on the floor in a "clean non-smoking" room. The rooms are dark and tiny (the pictures are deceiving). I asked for an upgrade based on my Wyndham points status and was told all of the rooms are the same. I used a reward night so I couldn't get my points back, but I still didn't stay. Instead I went down the block to the comfort inn and paid for it. It was worth paying for a different hotel instead of staying at the super 8 for free.

Really run down. Needs maintenance. The furniture was old and torn up. Hole in the wall could easily be patched. No pride obviously. The bed was ok. Not horrible. Breakfast was cereal, waffles, bakery goods. No yogurt. Cigarette butts everywhere outside. Sad.

There might be signs of reconstruction in the parking lot but don't let that discourage you. The refreshed rooms are really nice and the breakfast area is very warm and inviting. Also had a very restful quiet night's sleep here.

I wouldn’t even give it one star!! Was given room 204 the place smelled horrible and going through the halls was even worse Smelled of weed and cigarettes through out the building. Room was dirty and had nasty mattresses. There was a incasement on bed that showed obvious sign of bed bugs. Was in the room less then 5 min and demanded a refund. This is the worst super 8 I’ve ever stepped into. Would not recommend to anyone!!

The room was clean, but the internet was spotty at best. We would get.on the wifi, and get kicked off of it like 10 times in and hours time. Check out is at 11,they start bugging you at 10.When I told them we would be checking out by 11,I was then asked will it be right at 11or sooner. If I had not already made reservations we would have stayed somewhere else.

Rooms were never cleaned or restocked. Staff not friendly, seemed irritated we were inconveniencing them when we repeatedly had to go get clean towels from them every night. Had to ask for coffee/hot water almost every day of the 5 we stayed. One of our rooms had such a sticky floor you didn’t want walk on it without shoes. The beds were ok but the air conditioning unit was extremely loud and came on/off all night. The rooms were also very humid. We will not be staying at this hotel again. We were there for our sons wedding and of the 5 rooms we had none of them were acceptable

I chose to stay here because it was super 8. This one however.... no go elsewhere turn around don't look at it.. the front desk guy was very rude. The hallway on the second floor absolutely disgusting. The room smelt like mildew. Our bath towels were all stained. I'm glad it was for only one night.. but never again

Breakfast was limited. Not the usual Super 8 nice breakfast. Room was fine.

Below average. Clean sheets. Filthy bathroom ceiling (mold). Hot water was hot. Comfy enough bed. Thin quilt; I like more bulk. Pool is in disrepair and not filled with water. Pool tiles falling off wall. Breakfast was ok, but limited. The people above my room must be 400 pounds as the floor above "thumps" when they walk, and my room shakes as a result. Entryway was not cooled in the evening, so it's hot. All the security doors I used were not functioning securely, and had duct tape covering the latches so outsiders could simply pull/push open the doors without having to use a key card! Pleasant receptionist, and the staff seems to be helpful, but this hotel needs refurbishment.

Must go up or down half a flight of stairs. There is a ramp to one level, but it is long and steep. Room is clean.

Staff was super friendly. Easy in and out. Furniture did have some chew marks from dogs but didn’t bother me as I had a few with me. Price suits the hotel. If you want a perfect 5 star hotel go down the road and pay double.

In just the 30 min was there I had a group of drunk people eyeball me up-and-down every time I went to my car and to my room. They made me feel super uncomfortable and made several racial slurs towards me. I left 30 min after checking in. It sucks because I didn't get my money back and they were really nice rooms.

Air conditioner didn’t work. Either too hot or too cold. Fan in bathroom didn’t work. Water leaking in bathroom on floor. Ice machine didn’t work. There were five air conditioners stacked in lobby. I Had to clean toilet as it was dirty. I’m not picky or demanding but this place totally failed. Couldn’t sleep because of room temperature.
