We went down for my husband doctors appointment and decided to stay here last minute. I’m a very picky person when it comes to staying at hotels/motels. I look at reviews and all. The desk clerk Vanessa was so sweet and we loved her spirit. This lady needs a raise!!! You don’t find too many desk clerks like her ♥️ Our room was very cleaned and all the other staff memebers were great!!! We have another appointment next month and will be definitely staying there again!!!

The hotel seems great. First impressions..... The hot tub smells very MUSTY! Needs a heavy dose of chlorine, maybe fresh water, and filled full enough o actually recirculate. Shower definitely needs cleaning on ceiling and touch up paint around them from excess water. Breakfast was very adequate this morning!

Most of these Fairfield Inns are fairly basic. Unless something is egregious they generally either don’t get reviewed or get the 5 star treatment. (It’s a Fairfield, in the middle of nowhere not ever expecting to rate it against a St Regis). So unfortunately for this one the breakfast bar was so lacking that it really detracted from the overall experience. This was a CovID type layout instead of the bare minimum you expect from a breakfast layout. There is the advertised layout and what you actually got. BUT if all you’re looking at is to make a pit stop to spend the night and can eat somewhere else, again your very basic Fairfield Inn will not deviate from the formula. Also for the price If you’re headed towards Pratt (the next similarly sized town over) there are better options at similar prices.

Most common areas are clean, the issues are once you get in the room. There was a stain on literally every sheet & pillow case. Stains on the curtains of all places. I would not recommend using the closet space. I opened the door & got a whiff of mildew. Also, don’t waste your time with the breakfast — it’s basically the same microwaved breakfast you’d find at a public school. Overall, it was tolerable for the one night I stayed. I would however recommend bringing Lysol & Clorox wipes.

Blocks from the Cosmosphere and very reasonably priced. The bed, however, was ridiculous. It felt and sounded like we were sleeping on top of a gigantic styrofoam cooler. It was so hard that when i slept on either side, my hands went numb. The breakfast was very acceptable with waffle machine, sausage, cereal etc. There was a very small pool that would likely keep a couple of toddlers happy but my older boys were not amused. Small peeve, but there wasn't an ice machine on 2 of the three floors.

I stay here pretty frequently. It’s about the same as other Fairfield Inns I’ve stayed at over the years, except they need to replace their mattresses. The beds are lumpy and not as comfortable as other properties. The owner needs invest money back into things like replacing mattresses, fixing broken tiles, replacing stained carpet & furniture, repairing stains on the ceiling, and other general maintenance tasks. The staff are usually great. Edit: We haven’t stayed here for over a year because the last time a group of siblings stayed, our brother found a bed bug crawling on his pillow. He took pictures and notified the front desk. They moved him to another room, but we were all pretty uncomfortable at that point. They wouldn’t refund my brother’s room but promised him a free night the next time we stayed. In retrospect, we won’t take the chance on visiting again, because it’s not worth the risk. I see more recent reviews talking about bed bugs too, which makes me believe they haven’t resolved the problems more than a year later. We stay at Marriott hotels 45-60 nights per year and the ownership at this hotel doesn’t keep the hotel at the standards of other Marriott brands we’ve stayed at.

Dislike the prepackaged breakfast sandwich. Would love to see hot eggs a meat B&G. Waffles were ok even better when I added walnuts by the cereal.

Let me start by saying - above average hotel for the area. No issues except for no communication on guest services and room cleaning until we checked out. No room cleaning is preformed until the THIRD day of stay?? This means no towels!! Unacceptable for the price you pay.

Room was nice but smelled bad and did not get much better. Breakfast was not up to standard and they ran out of coffee in the morning more than once. Has been much better on past visits than this time.

Dirty sheets, pillows smelled like bad man sweat, the “hot buffet” and “continental breakfast” consisted of nothing but carbs and sugar. The hot buffet items were cooked in and laying in a hot warmer in plastic bags, not food safe. All of the staff, especially the cleaning staff were very unwelcoming, downright awkward and rude. Manager Shawn refused to talk to us. Save your money and go with another place.

Stayed for a week. The front desk lady was always super friendly and courteous. The pool and hot tub were my go to every night after a long day of work. The room was large and clean.

Nice hotel for traveling. The pool is on the small side and had some maintenance going on with the hot tub while we were there. There is a nice health center for working out though. The breakfast in the morning was great, lots of variety.

Service was great. Rooms are very clean. The only downside was the breakfast. On the day we stayed (a Friday night) there were microwaved breakfast sandwiches available. They did have a waffle iron - but only one, so be prepared to wait a bit on the weekends. Overall great.

We were in Hutch one night during Memorial Day week-end. Usually we stay at the Holiday Inn express but they had no vacancies. We then went and booked at room at Fairfield. Their prices are quite a bit more so I expected more! The room was clean and nice except when I got up to take a shower. The water in the shower was one temperature HOT. For some reason no matter where I turned the knob it was consistently very HOT. I usually like hot showers but this was scalding. I jumped out and was unable to shower. Asked at the desk about it and they said they would turn it in to maintenance. They thought that the hot water was odd because a different room said they had nothing but cold. Then I went to breakfast. Wish I hadn’t bothered !They had burritos in a microwave package that were nothing but soggy with refried beans. After I threw that away I tried a waffle in a microwave package. Really different and nasty… clumps of sugar stuck to the rubbery waffle. I then opted for the eggs… not real scrambled eggs, not sure what they were. After that I got an apple and left. ,

Everyone was very accommodating. I am in town while my wife is in the hospital. They went out of their way to make sure my stay was comfortable. The rooms were clean and at a great price point. Highly recommend.

BED BUG INFESTATION. I stayed here only 1 night & caught bed bugs because the room I stayed in was infested… meaning an extreme amount of HUGE bed bugs, so they’d been there a while & grown. Hotels need to be checking for this when they do routine cleaning, such as changing the sheets etc. Makes me think they just chose to neglect the issue or not properly training to notice signs of bed bugs. The hotel had very poor communication after the fact, even after confirming the room I stayed in was infested. Not very professional nor hospital in resolving the issue. Was extremely reluctant to take actionable responsibility in any way.

Staff are rude and rooms aren't as nice as they should be for the price. They allow homeless looking people to hang around outside and I was worried about my vehicle. I wouldn't stay here if you have kids with you.

Great stay for our event in Nickerson, KS. Clean hotel, great smell, great light in the rooms from windows and lamps. Appreciative of the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash mounted in the shower. Very clean bathroom. The only complaint which can differ from one person to another, is for me, the bed wasn't very comfortable and was very squeaky in our double queen bedroom. But the breakfast was amazing with a lot of healthy variety!

Our room was not clean when we got there after 4pm. They were going to get us another room while we went to eat supper and we went bv to that room but it was occupied by someone else. Thank God they werent in the room when we opened the door. By that time they had our room clean so we took it. Went to go get some ice in the ice area and found no ice machine to fix something cold to drink. Then we tried to relax and watch tv and it was stuck in hotel commercial mode and wouldnt change to anything else so we gave up and had a pretty disgusting night.

Service was awesome. Their system was down when I checked in, but the lady at the front desk took care of business. She should get a $50.00 gift card for the great services she provided. This Fairfield is not too bad for a small Kansas town!

The most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on. Had back pain the entire time we stayed there. It took me a week to recover!

Stayed on 2nd foor. Water pressure suckes. Hot water was all or nothing. Either scalding hot or cold as hell. The tiles in bathroom are all broken. Caulking in shower has mold and need replaces.

Front desk workers were nice. Room was clean but curtain had a huge rip, one TV wouldn't work (couldn't control volume & was very dim) bed was very hard, made our backs sore. Breakfast was ok.

Very nice clean quiet hotel. Reasonable priced. Great location in town. Close to a lot of eating place. Hotel has a nice breakfast. Would use this hotel when passing through town again.
