Hair by Newg and owner Gwyn are hidden gems. I did a consult first to talk about color and we came up with a plan that includes highlights, lowlights, and “fun color” - mermaid blue along with a cut...it was perfect! Gwyn’s artistry and knowledge of chemistry made for the perfect combination. No mater your hair type...Gwyn is your girl. Also shout out to Eddie who also works there...he has some mad barber skills! I was always impressed with my neighbors short natural hair. I asked her where she had it done and she gave me the information to this location and the stylist Gwen. I needed a big chop and treatment. Wonderful service and I felt welcomed and comfortable with the overall cleanliness and professionalism of my stylist and that of the other stylist as well. I was really thrilled with the deep cleansing shampoo, the steam treatment and the lovely cut I was given. Gwen treated me like I was her only client and left me feeling like I was cared for. She listened to what I wanted and did a wonderful job. She also had the products she used on my hair available for purchase. I will be going to her from now on for my natural hair care needs. Came in a Hot Mess and left out Blessed. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

I was disappointed with the quality of work. It was my first time there and needed a deep condition and roller set. I was placed under the steamer with no plastic cap on my head and my face caught everything from my head. After that was over I sat and waited for 20 mins with my wet head. At the end of it all my head was sprayed with enough hair spray for a year....nothing was placed on my scalp to keep it moisturized. I do not recommend it. The environment is professional but I won't pay 60 for what I received.

The stylists are all detailed oriented and is about hair care as well as style. They’re all friendly and personable. I just love getting my hair done here.

I was traveling from out of town and needed a quick trim. Gwen was flexible with her schedule; extremely friendly; and did a great job! She was all about customer service, and I love the cut!

Hair by Newg is simply the best and feels like home. Gwen has been taking care of my hair since I was in my late teens, early 20’s, and now I am in the 30 and over club. My hair is very healthy and I have no complaints.

Newg Hair Salon is the best kept secret. Gwen, the owner, is not allow a great hair stylist but she keeps your hair healthy and her cuts are the BOMB!! People stop me all the time to inquire about my hair and all I can say is you need to go see Gwen!! The salon is clean and inviting. The other stylists are great as well!!
