This is a lovely boutique hotel close to an array of DC attractions. We went for a long weekend and were delighted by the excellent location, the efficient and attentive staff, and the beautiful accommodations. 24-hour coffee machines on the 2nd floor were actually way better than any other hotel's small coffeemaker in the room. The downstairs restaurant served great food and was convenient for dinner and drinks. We wished that our bathroom had had an exhaust fan, but overall the room felt modern and spacious. We will definitely stay here again and will highly recommend it.

Had a fantastic 4 night stay here. The location is incredible- steps from bus, metro, and the Postal Museum as well. Getting around DC from this point is super easy. The staff were very friendly and check in/out was fast. Room was very comfortable. Coffee and tea available 24 hours was a big plus coming back from the cold! I will definitely stay here again.

Letā€™s start with the fact that thereā€™s 24/7 free coffee ā˜•ļø. Itā€™s a great Irish inspired hotel, central to all the DC attractions making it a great spot if youā€™re up for a day of walking. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and well kept. Possibly the best part is the attached pub that reminds me of the pubs I visited in Ireland a few months prior. Youā€™ll get a good pint of Guinness and it even has the same scent as the pubs in Ireland. A great choice for a weekend in DC. Canā€™t forget about the speedy valet service as well! Highly recommended.

This was a beautiful hotel. Absolutely loved the rooms. Beds were comfortable, beautiful wood floors with an area rug, awesome shower and bathroom, iron, minifridge and robes in rooms. The free coffee machine may have been the highlight of our stay. We would meet in the morning for lattes and in the evening for a delicious vanilla milk (or hot chocolate). Wish every hotel had these machines! Also a water cooler and microwave in the same area. Convenient having a restaurant attached as well. Great location, walkable to lots and lots. The capitol building is a block away. About 15 minutes walk to the capitol visitor center but about as close as you can get to it. Front desk staff pleasant and helpful. Would absolutely stay in this beautiful hotel again. GREAT value!

Truly enjoyed this hotel! While a bit smaller in scale, it still has many amenities to help your stay be comfortable. The working space with the coffee and tea setup was fantastic and having the Dubliner restaurant within the building was handy when weather wasn't so great and we couldn't get out into the city. Although the area and location can be quite busy and loud, the hotel itself was quiet and relaxing. Friendly service!

Small but cute rooms. The staff here is AMAZING šŸ¤©. They are ALL wonderful and helpful and double and triple check things to make sure things are correct and in order and I greatly appreciated it. The beds and pillows were AMAZINGLY comfortable. Pillows are down in case of allergies. Coffee and hot beverages on the second fl. WiFi and cable. The Dublin is a restaurant/bar located in the hotel.

Really cool hotel in a perfect location! We took amtrak to DC, so the location right next to union Station and nearby the national mall couldn't have been better. It's in a neat historical building with modern feeling, clean rooms. The Irish pub attached to it was really neat as well and we wish we'd been there more nights to enjoy it more! Will definitely stay here again next time we're in DC

My wife and I came here with our baby for a weekend trip. The staff was really nice and friendly. The initial room we stayed in had problems with the heater and they quickly helped us move our things into another room(Fernando and another gentlemen) The location is great, its affordable compared to other hotels in the area and the attached Dubliner had some great food and really good Irish restaurant.

Walking distance to the Capital Building and Union station! Great historic building and hotel! The beds were comfortable, shower was nice, and had a restaurant built into the hotel. Unfortunately, the walls were very thin and we heard the entire conversation with the people in the room next door until 10:30pm as well as when people came in around 1:30am down the hallway being obnoxious! Also not having a continental breakfast with kids is a little annoying, breakfast should be included in our opinion. Overall though, the room itself was nice! You also donā€™t have to pay the $59 valet if you would rather self park for $20 overnight in the same lot!

It has been a pleasure staying here for the week. The room has been left immaculate by the housekeeping services every day. No problems at all sleeping during the night in the comfortable bed. This hotel is so centrally located in this city, I didn't need a car at all. My stay could not have been better. I will keep my eye out for sales, so I can book a room again in the future. Thank you.

We've photographed a couple of brides getting ready for their weddings at Phoenix Park Hotel and would enthusiastically recommend the venue to any couple looking for a good place to get prepared for a DC wedding. The rooms and suites are spacious and light -- two ingredients for killer photos of you getting ready! As an added bonus, many of them have great views of the city from their balconies. The best background for wedding portraits, though, is actually on the ground floor. Because Phoenix Park Hotel sits on North Capitol Street, you get one of the most perfect views of the US Capitol as soon as you step out the front door. That makes the hotel an ideal choice for any couple looking to mix a bit of DC and national history into their wedding celebrations!

I was able to book a same day room Monday night due to my best friend and my train being cancelled because of the weather. First of all it's conveniently located right near the train station and other attractions within walking distance. The staff helped us out immediately and we're so kind,The lobby is immaculate and so well kept and quiet. The pricing was far more fair than I anticipated it to be. The room was gorgeous I was particularly fond of the shower and how comfortable the bed was as well as the view from my window. There is a pub on the first floor that I unfortunately did not get to enjoy but will definitely go back and enjoy next time because it looked like so much fun. There is a laundry room that was stocked with what I needed and complimentary which was so helpful for me because being stuck unexpectedly I didn't have change of clothes with me so I had to quickly purchase something and being able to wash what I brought was great. The only downside to the stay was there are many homeless people right outside the hotel begging for money and just harassing people. Now that should not affect the hotel as it is not their fault and they do lock the doors after 10pm which made us feel safer.Despite that one thing I will stay there again and look forward to our next trip there. Thank you so much to all the kind staff for making us being stuck there easier.

Place was awesome. Originally reserved a normal room for 2. Got there and it had been taken. To our absolute surprise, we were upgraded to a suite free of charge. I must say it felt luxurious and was incredibly spacious. The suite was definitely a treat and surprise. Would highly recommend! Everything felt fresh and new and well taken care of

The Hotel is beautiful but the customer service is so bad!! I just experienced a racist customer service!!! Today at 6am I went to one of the hotels I usually come to stay, but today I had 12 hours shift and the closest hotel was this one. I asked if I can please use the bathroom but the attitude I received was bad and they didnā€™t even let me to use it even though I said it was urgent. Instead he said ā€œthe cleaners are cleaningā€ and I said ā€œcan I use one thatā€™s clean pleaseā€ then he said ā€œyou asking too much favorā€ and closed the door on me??! What if that was your daughter that happened to her or your family member????

This is a lovely hotel in a central location (across the street from the National Guard building and US Postal Service museum and right around the corner from the Capitol Building) with really reasonable pricing. The lobby is gorgeous and the rooms are spacious and modern. Everything was spotlessly clean! There's a cute Irish Pub off the lobby with good food at reasonable prices - I recommend the shepherd's pie!! Hotel staff was professional and welcoming. Valet service (for a fee) was a huge weight off my mind since DC parking is always hit or miss. I'll definitely book here again!

You can not beat the location of this hotel. Close to all the sights and an absolute first class Irish Pub basically downstairs. Very close to Union Station. Rooms weren't huge but well appointed. Did not hear anyone until my last night there. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here by accident when we missed train. Amtrak provided hotel accommodations and couldn't have been happier! Great room, very convenient location and staff were very friendly and helpful, especially given the stress we were in having travel plans changed. Definitely recommend!!

near metro and many sites walkable if you are used to the distances of DC attractions. comfortable and fairly quiet rooms with restaurant and bar downstairs. there is valet parking but with a little effort finding nearby self parking for less is doable.

Great location, just 3 minute walk to Union Station and around 10 minute walk to the Capital Building. Service was WONDERFUL! All staff were friendly and responded to our needs immediately (extra blankets, towels), one housekeeper actually stopped what she was doing to open our room door for us because she noticed our hands were full! Special shout-outs to Darren for always greeting us with a warm smile and Brenda for her professionalism and ability to answer our questions. The rooms are on the smaller side, but the location, cleanliness and complimentary coffee and tea station made up for that. Nice upgrades in the room as well; marble bathroom tile and laminate wood flooring in the bedroom. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend you give this hotel a try, you won't be disappointed in the high quality service and proximity to metro and National Mall!

A really beautiful hotel, we enjoyed our stay here. 24/7 reception and a coffee, tea and hot chocolate station available all the time for guests on the second floor. The rooms were spacious, clean, functional and quite modern. It was nice to have some extra room for our suitcases and to organise ourselves after travel time. We arrived early after an interstate train trip and the team were lovely enough to allow us to access check-in early as a room was ready. They also happily manage bag storage if the room isnā€™t ready or youā€™re departing after check-out. There was a fair bit of noise you can hear at night (well you could from our room in the 3rd floor) from the bar downstairs (I am sure one of the nights mustā€™ve been karaoke night)! They donā€™t offer any breakfast but the Irish pub does offer a la carte options, we didnā€™t dine there though as Iā€™m coeliac and they werenā€™t able to accommodate a complete gluten free need, the menu looked nice though otherwise for people who donā€™t have that same restriction

This is my favorite DC hotel! My family stays here each year. The location is perfect - steps away from Union Station and the US Capitol. The staff are wonderful and always kind and helpful. The Dubliner restaurant inside the hotel has great food and live Irish music every night. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. We highly recommend the Phoenix Park Hotel for your trip to DC!

This was a perfect place for us to stay for 2 night to see the sights in D.C. Close to Union Station and bus stops which made getting around easy. Restaurant on site, rooms are clean and the free coffee bar was great. Would stay here again.

This stay was great. It all started with the exceptionally helpful bellman who carried our luggage in while it was raining. He followed us to our room and unloaded it for us. The front desk was lovely. They are friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful. Our bathroom was absolutely huge with a glass walled shower and rain shower head. So relaxing! The windows were big and bright. The honking at the intersection outside was obnoxious but thatā€™s no fault of the hotel. They offer earplugs in the bathroom. We visited the Dubliner a few times during our stay. It was nice to have onsite. The location is great! Union Station is only steps away.

This was our second stay this year at Phoenix Park. It will be where I stay the next time I am in DC. Itā€™s the best place I have found for the price. The hotel clean and well maintained. The location is perfect if you are taking the train into town, super close to Union station. The employees are super friendly and the service is great.

They checked us in earlier than normal which was great however the room we got and was a corner room facing the main street so it was very loud we couldn't even sleep. The rooms were nice and clean has a coffee area which is nice and clean as well. Very close to times square and Union station and we were able to take lyft everywhere else

Stayed here on a work trip. Beautiful!!! Friendly staff. Super clean. Pricy but to be expected in DC I guess. $4.50 for a water bottle! The connecting door was a bit creepy because you could jiggle the lock a bit but it didnā€™t open. The bed was super comfortable.

Our first visit to the Phoenix House was to move one of our kids to DC. The location is fantastic! Right on Capitol Hill, steps from Union Station and only a few more steps to the Capitol Complex. It makes a great starting point to walk the best parts of DC. As a boutique hotel, it is small but not tiny. Rooms are spacious, well appointed with comfortable beds and updated fixtures and furniture. Our view was Mass Ave so interesting and bustling until after 10pm. The staff were excellent and the building impeccably maintained. We will use it as our base for upcoming visits to Washington.

Great location, great service, and great rooms! The rooms are a little on the smaller side, but unless youā€™re in the room the whole stay itā€™s totally fine. The bed was super comfortable too with the softest pillows. The pub attached to it is also really good! A little pricey but thatā€™s a little expected for the area. I thought the overall hotel look was unique - itā€™s modern but had cool little historical elements.

Great hotel, with a Irish pub. The capital and union station is in walking distance. Rooms are updated and modern. The area has moderate traffic. There's construction going on close to the hotel. If you're planning to stay during the day, where noise could be an issue. You might want to consider some alternative options. Noise level at night is low to moderate.

We had our wedding reception at the Phoenix Park three years ago and now we love to go back for our anniversary each year. We have never been disappointed and itā€™s a just a very special place for us. The service is always amazing - the staff members go above and beyond to make you feel like more than just a hotel guest. The rooms are comfortable and have a nice aestheticā€¦some are small, but we usually get the King Deluxe which has plenty of space. Itā€™s just a really nice family-owned hotel. I canā€™t say enough good thingsā€¦we just love it there. Highly recommend!

Great location for a great price. Just a few blocks away from the Capitol, which makes for a glorious sight at night. Superb service at the front desk. Rooms are beautiful, modern, well-appointed and squeaky clean. The character of this building is what makes it truly special. Each floor features amazing art pieces and furniture in the elevator lobbies and hallways, like staying in a museum! There is also a cool pub attached, and we were each given a voucher for a free Guinness there. Can't beat that! I wish the proprietors of this lovely place many years of prosperity, but I hope they can keep the attractive price point because it really is one of the best values in town.

After being on Amtrak for 3days. Amtrak put me up in Phoenix Park hotel for that night when I finally reach DC... The hotel was very clean. The staff very professional... the room was on the small size, but the bed was like a huge marshmallow that hugged you when you laid down. Very peaceful restful night.

  • 5/5 Ukvayat H. 1 year ago on Google
Complimentary hot chocolate... need I say more? Yes, they have coffee too! The rooms were perfect. Don't expect the roomy spaces in a new hotel. All the fixtures were well maintained and brand name. I slept the best here of any hotel I have stayed at. Comfort of the bed was 9/10 (only home gets a 10/10). The AC kept the temperature consistent throughout my entire stay. I also enjoyed the catering. And I mean ENJOYED. WOW! Only suggestion - provide a door tag that says something like "I'm helping the environment, no house cleaning required".

The hotel is modern with the some historic charm. I felt safe during our stay. The rooms were not large, but what you expect at a boutique hotel. The bathroom was spacious and clean. Every member of staff we came in contact with were friendly and most helpful. The batteries in my AC control went out and I informed the front desk at about 8 p.m. The batteries were replaced within the hour.

Good location for vacation (near capitol hill) and many other attractions. Nice view. Room is clean. Near to transportation (train) union station. Reasonable price. The ladies servicing the room are excellent. 24hrs coffee machine another 2nd floor is outstanding. We are happy Canadians Eh!

  • 4/5 Jacob G. 1 year ago on Google
The location of this place is both a pro and a con. Love how short of a walk it is to the Union station metro. The con is unless you're used to city traffic and sirens at all hours, you'll definitely need earplugs to sleep (which were provided complementarily). The hotel staff were all very nice and professional! The rooms were decorated nicely and had a clean feel to them. We especially enjoyed the complementary coffee/cappuccino/espresso machine they had on site. Would stay there again for a discounted way to be in a relatively convenient location.

  • 4/5 Jessica F. 1 year ago on Google
From start to finish the entire hotel staff was wonderful. The person who checked us in kindly upgraded us after hearing about our awful stay in Delaware. The complimentary coffee is really good. Like, not good for hotel coffee good but good coffee. Which is appreciated because every coffee place nearby is trash. That with Chick Fil A from Union Station and you've got an affordable (for DC) breakfast. It's much appreciated because, again, nearby breakfast spots aren't very good. That's really the biggest drawback of this place. There aren't really good places nearby for food. The Irish pub in the hotel is good but not great. Any decent place for food is at least a half mile away. But there are all the food delivery services available. Reheating food options is the communal microwave on the second floor. As far as attractions, the Capital Hill is down the street. Union Station isn't far. The Postal Museum is a lot more fun than expected. Everything else would require a vehicle or expect at least a mile walk. Expect to shell out some money for parking. I'm not talking about the valet parking either. Overall, we loved our stay!

Very clean, great staff, good bar, nice rooms, but there was a lot of noise from outside (sounded like air conditioning, not sure). If you're very sensitive to noise, ask if you can get a quiet room before booking. The location is excellent too, although it's pretty dead after 10pm (not sure if that's different to the rest of the city though, so can't hold it against them).

My friend and I stayed here when we were going to be in DC for a concert. The room was small, but perfect for what we needed. The room was clean and the bathroom was gorgeous. Staff at all times were friendly and helpful. It was about a 15 minute walk to Capital One Arena and you were so close to the Capital Building you could see it! Very enjoyable stay, I would come back. They even have a super cool latte machine that can be used for free as a guest!

Great location, super friendly staff. While the room was on the small side, it made efficient use of space and was very well-appointed (better than several 4-star hotels Iā€™ve stayed at in DC). Very comfortable pillows, great AC, Mini fridge, vending and ice on guest floors, full bathtub, full-length mirror and GREAT bathroom lighting (could actually see to do my makeup!). Fun Irish pub/restaurant on-site, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Free wifi

This is a GREAT hotel to stay in if you are visiting Washington DC. Itā€™s small enough to give you very personal service. The bellmen hailed cabs quickly and cheerfully. The housekeeping service was daily! They worked around our schedule with no problem. One night, we had noisy neighbors. When we called, the staff took care of it immediately. We were there six nights. The breakfast a la cart was very reasonable. $7 for made to order eggs and bacon. Great French Toast! The Dubliner, connected to the hotel, was great if you wanted dinner quickly. Great location not far from the sites and close to union station. We would definitely stay again.

Stayed here for a belated birthday weekend in D.C.. The entire staff was so kind and helpful. Beds were amazing and the rooms were very clean. Views from our room were really pretty, and the complimentary coffee/espresso bar was extremely convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel. The only downside is the surrounding location is a little bit sketchy. Lots of homeless people at night, some seemed to be clearly mentally ill. This is no fault of the hotel though.

  • 4/5 Carla B. 1 year ago on Google
Very convenient location to the Capitol and all monuments. The room was clean, nice bathroom soaps etc. Bed was comfortable. The room was very small - only big enough for one. And walls are very thin. Great spot for a single person to call home base while in DC. I would suggest a small table in the bathroom as there is no where to put makeup etc when getting ready.

  • 4/5 Cora J. 2 years ago on Google
My stay there was very nice. The rooms were modern, clean and well maintained and close to the train station. Good deal on pricing. The quilt was lumpy. most of the filling had formed into lumps. That comes from constant washes.. I would consider staying there again in the future. I enjoyed the food I bought from Irish restaurant located within hotel.

First thing first this place was cute and inviting. The staff always said good morning and good evening. The bed was super comfy the pillows were like sleeping on clouds. The water was super hot like which was a relief from the cold as we went in January. The dubliner restaurant had delicious breakfast and late night dinner. I would go back again.
