Huge and well maintained palace. Vintage car collection is too good. You need a minimum of one and a half hours to see it and 2 hours to enjoy it. Lawn is relaxing especially during evening with soothing breeze. Chandeliers are breathtaking. For Indian citizens entry fee is Rs100.

Another must-visit place in Hyderabad which used to be Nizam’s palace is way beautiful and beyond words. This palace is located a few meters away from the very famous Charminar. The entry ticket to this place is 100₹, no UPI payment is accepted but you can do it by using a credit or debit card. The palace is extremely beautiful, and the main drawing hall is full of big chandeliers that look very royal and show how rich our history is. On the upper floor, there is a small museum and a floor where you can get the best view of the hall, OMG it is mesmerizing. The palace offers small exhibitions related to the Nizam. You can get to see the vintage car collection as well. The palace area is very big and well-maintained. Indeed a must-visit place.

Worth visiting if are interested in Nizam Family and History who have contributed lot in development of Hyderabad. It is nicely maintained and clean place. The openness of the palace / large garden and ponds add to the beauty The artwork on ceiling of palace is par excellence Worth visiting once

I always love Historical places & everytime I visit such places in different cities which has some historical museums. It really reflects our past life & lifestyle at that time. This palace shows the royal lifestyle of Nizam's family tree. From the collection of vintage cars, lights, swords n kitchen items. The delicate teapots n cups. Their beautiful ethnic wear n curtains n guns collection many more. It's very clean n tidy with maintained washrooms for male n female. It's very spacious n every part of this palace is awesome. It's really interesting n helps our present generation to see the beautiful collections. I really loved it. Ticket cost :100/- Timings: 10am to 5pm Try to go with children because it's really interesting n knowledgeable for historic life details in deeply. We visited on Wednesday it's very less rush & had very good time to watch all the monuments nicely.

One of the must visit places in Hyderabad is the Chowmahalla Palace. It's the palace of the Nizams. Its well maintained. Requires about 3 hours to peacefully and admire the whole palace and its layout. They have everything right from the clothes to crockery & cutlery to artillery and even vehicles on display. The entire palace is beautifully designed and picturesque.

*Chowmahalla Palace* An extraordinary place to visit in Hyderabad, contains 4 palaces just as described in the name. There’s a canteen available with limited food options, separate washrooms for men & women. Better to visit in weekdays (heavy crowds on weekends). Couldn’t find any tour guide for an explanation but there’s lot of information available next to the item/place/antiques. As there’s lot of walking around, better to carry water bottles. .

A massive eighteenth century palace of Nizams of Hyderabad spread in 12 acres was well maintained & conserved. Large courtyards & ceremonial halls were impressive. Belgian chandeliers & beautiful marbles were amazing. We took picture in Royal dress, it was wonderful. A good collection of vintage cars was outstanding. Cleanliness of the palace was noteworthy.

Time: 1.5 hrs. Visited in evening (better in evening as a good place to sit in the open grounds) Entry ticket: ₹100 per person. UPI doesn't work, but cards and cash allowed. No charge for mobile photography. Parking: Available for bike (₹10 charges, you can UPI the parking charges to the guy). Limited space for car parking, there was a long line outside as the card parking was full. Washroom: Available at the entrance and maybe 1-2 more. Clean. Drinking water: Available at the entrance (not sure if it is filtered). I encourage to please carry non-plastic water bottles. Review: • May visit once. Can avoid if limited time • Clean place, open parks to sit. Good place to chill/rest but nothing much to see here (Please keep in mind I have been to a lot of museums hence my review) • Swords/historical war equipment on display, good for children • Photogenic place, can have good photos for Instagram ;) • Vintage car display - a quick 5 min tour • Chandeliers are a beauty though, loved the touch • Still under-construction, 2-3 properties are still closed • At the entrance they have a place where you can try the shahi outfits for some charge

This palace belonged to the Nizams and was opened to the public as a museum in the early 2000s. It is surrounded by narrow crowded roads and encroached by modern houses all around. The place has the main palace, a garden and courtyard kind of thing in the front, a clock tower and smaller mahals around it. The main palace has the darbar with beautiful chandeliers, rooms with the description of the history of Hyderabad and the Nizam Lineage. Also, there are rooms with old currency, seals, crockery, royal arms, army attires, etc. There is a beautiful garden at the back also with a small fountain/pond. Some of the mahals were closed or under renovation. Was disappointed as I couldn't see the Vintage cars. Overall, it is a good place to spend a couple of hours. Entry is 100rs per person, and you also have to pay 50rs if you want to click photos on the phone(but no one checks this). Beware of the parking lot supervisor. They try to extract more parking fees than the actual.

Rich, Elegant, Detailed, Royal, Stunning. It is a great place to spend time in the city. The entry fee is Rs.100 per person, but it is worth the spend. There is a museum shop where you could buy silk clothes, books etc. You could also take Royal pictures of yourself (Costumes provided) at the palace for Rs.100. There is ample parking space, place to sit and relax. The design of the palace was so detailed and intricate. The Royal belongings were well preserved and a treat to the eyes as the observer could see the entire life and imagine it.

This one's a must visit for History enthusiasts. The museum is entirely well marked with information and display. It would easily take 3-4 hours for someone to go through it all in detail. Well maintained palace, pathways. Clean and functioning toilets from the look of it. A canteen with snacks and beverages. Enough parking inside the compound.

A well maintained place with a parking lot. This place is peaceful and you can sit on the stairs for a while to experience solitude. ✨ You can roam around the place and enjoy every bit of it. They also have a vintage car exhibition part 🏎️ People might mislead you saying that the place is closed for the tourists, but it is not. Visit the place and have fun 🥳✨

It's great place to visit. The architecture was wonderful, the narrow passages are amazing. When I visited there it was under maintenance. They charged us Rs.20, but for foreigners prices are different. You will find lot of shops around that from old shops to new. Key to shopping is bargaining. Street food there is bliss. Try to visit at night also you will definitely enjoy the view.

Charminar the land mark of Hyderabad, lad bazar is famous here, best suited for ladies because the market is dedicated to ladies products 😉 men can only roam their with their partner handbags and shopping bags. For single men or boys it will hardly take 20 minutes for site seeing of Charminar from inside and outside. But for couples even the whole day is insufficient due to market...enjoy...

This historical place is now opened to Visitors with an adult ticket price of 100 rs/- You can complete the whole visit almost in 2 hours. Some of the architecture design are are inspired from Turkey. Chandeliers, Vintage Cars are good. It also displays Nizam's Crockery, Dresses, Sofa ,Chairs, Weapons used by soldiers . Few Mahals are still under restoring and hope we can see more historical things in future. I felt the maintenance could be more better. Nevertheless, the government is trying to restore few structures within the palace. Note that camera is not allowed but you can take pictures in mobile. Sad thing is most of the people are busy with taking pictures but only few are appreciating the architecture and beauty of the palace 😏.

This is a residence converted to Museum by the Nizams of the Hyderabad State. The place is good one time visit to see our history. The chandeliers are beauty to eyes, Back side of the palace is green and fine picnic spot. Vintage cars are the must to see. Overall good place to hang out with friends and family. For tickets: keep cash handy. Parking : we went in weekend and it was fully packed inside for parking. No parking spot outside. You might have to spend some time here to park.

Extremely beautiful place to visit. Historical. Ticket prices are expensive. Beautiful place. Toilets are clean. Kids will also love it. The area is extremely congested. A bit difficult to visit with own car. A nice, clean and beautiful heritage place. Usually an hour or so will suffice to roam around.

They also have a vintage cars collection along with motorcycles. The armory is also impressive and also has some old currency and soldier's uniform and one can get much knowledge about the history. Amazing and huge palace with lots of exhibits, even including a few vintage cars on display. Everything is maintained very well. It takes at least 1.5-2 hours to finish the entire tour at a leisurely pace. They also have a small stall where you can wear special outfits and take photos for a fee.

Must visit place. You can view the royalty of the king and a bit of history. Must go before 2 pm because it will get closed by 5 pm. It will take at least 3 hours of time to visit end to end. Can spend sometime in the garden if there are kids. Overall it’s a kind of peaceful place in the amidst of city. The entrance ticket price for adult is 100 rupees. There is small canteen and small store too. Loved the architecture and the place. Looks like the maintenance is also good. Enjoyed by looking at the vintage cars and war weapons. I’ve attached the photos please go through them. At the end you’ll love this place. ❤️

Felt the entry fees are not worth paying as most of the part of the property was closed and the one which is open was felt poorly maintained. The main Mahal is the most spectacular place while the others were either closed or didn't even have adequate light within. Such magnificent properties should have been maintained properly.

Charminar is located in middle of street surrounded with markets and very crowded street. A verifiable landmark to visit on the off chance that you are in Hyderabad. You get a decent perspective of the territory from the highest point of the monument. The advertise close charminar is constantly energetic, particularly the bangles showcase. It’s smarter to contract a taxi and visit this place as opposed to taking your own four wheeler. Parking facilities isn’t that incredible. Hyderabad wont be completed without Charminar. The place with an enriched history built around it

Nice place for visitors. The ancient architecture here. People generally visit here. This place has the tombs in which the kings were buried. The place had it's own thing. People come here for photography or for a relief. The King who founded the land of Hyderabad is buried here in the tombs. There are several small small musjids in this place for the prayers to be performed. The place has a pool in which the kings used to bath or swim or for the Ablution. The place has greenery in environment which makes the mind fresh and cool. The place has a big Mosque where 50 to 100 people can pray at a time.

Chowmahalla Palace is located at a walkable distance from Charminar at around 500 meters. It is built on a vast area covering monuments and gardens. This palace was served as a seat of Nizam when they ruled Hyderabad. Currently, all the things which they used (articraft, antiques etc) during that time are preserved and stored and are available for public view. Vintage car collections of that period are also stored. This place has an ample place for parking for visitors. Entry fees for Indians is 60 for adults.

Beautiful as always. One can buy almost anything under the sun at Charminar for cheap price. The shops are fully opened only by 11 a.m. before and closes late in the night. Price varies from one shop to the other but it's best to bargain, although there are some shops which have fixed rate. Come prepared to negotiate.

Very beautiful and underrated. Visited for the first time and was pretty impressed with the grandeur and architecture style. Understanding the history gives a glimpse of what we are looking at. Unfortunately, the direction signages weren't enough and we don't know where to start, where to end and what we are looking at. A printed handbook/pamphlet would have been helpful and appropriate signs on buildings with history will be helpful too. Visitors were randomly going from building to building without any clear direction. The main durbar hall with the exquisitely crafted chandeliers were a main attraction. And the palace view from the top was so grand. The vintage cars were a major attraction too. Please carry water as there is a lot of walking and climbing involved. Too crowded during the holiday season. Some buildings are locked with dust and cobwebs. Overall, Maintenance needs to be improved. But, must visit to understand our own history and marvel the architecture.

The most beautiful palace I have ever seen. As you walk here, you will wonder what it must have been like for those who lived here in the past. Life of all the important people who lived here are detailed in pictures. The palace has a good collection of vintage cars, crockery used by inmates, kings and queens dresses, soldiers guns, knives, swords, shields, etc. It is the vintage car collection that attract the visitors attention the most. Green carpeted lawns double the beauty of this place. It is very difficult to get car parking on busy days. Even then, it is a must visit place if you are coming to Hyderabad. Situated very close to the Charminar, people cannot miss this place.

Every corner is a perfect frame, capturing the elegance and grandeur of this historical masterpiece. Don't miss the chance to explore its magnificent halls and courtyards.

Another not frequented place to visit in Hyderabad. Its very underrated, but we totally loved it. Chowmahalla means of 4 palaces. The building is an aggregate of 4 smaller palaces all well maintained. The building also house a well kept museum, while we really liked. The place is very insta friendly, and has some awesome clicks to offer.

Absolutely beautiful place. One of the most good looking palaces I've been to and so well maintained inside. The staff from the lady handling the washroom to the security guards around, everyone is so courteous and warm. The area has lots of palaces and places to see around. The car collection is also a must see because its absolutely fascinating how there are cars more than 100 years old. Must visit in hydrebad!!

Beautiful and calm palace close to hustle bustle of charminar... Its one of the must visit place in Hyderabad and it lives up to the hype.... I visited this place in the evening and it was pleasant.... Lot of ground to cover as it is museum and the palace which needs to be covered. 4 different palaces and not to be missed are the vintage cars.... If you are even carrying cameras or action cams with no intention of shooting then u have to submit ur gear to security. Entry ticket - 100 rs per person Parking - Available Drinking Water - available Toilets - available #enqframes @enqframes

Must visit place when in Hyderabad. Friday it’s closed so plan accordingly. Once you visit this palace no need to visit other palace or museums in Hyderabad. Rest all are almost same with small difference. Very nicely decorated or arranged all items for display. Specially the armory. Chandlers are from Belgium and very beautiful. Vintage cars was a cherry on the cake. Major part of palace is closed for public however whatever is open to see will take 1-2 hours to see. If you go in depth of everything then 3-4 hours will be required.

Experience Nizam's luxurious lifestyle in this palace. This is a must visit place when you are in Hyderabad. This place is a Palace as well as a museum. It is a large well maintained place, and requires around 2 hours to cover this place. The durbar hall is stunning 😍. This place is nearby to the famous Charminar so you can plan this along with Charminar. You can also make your trip memorable by clicking your pictures in Nizami costumes and posing as Nizam 😀. For each picture they charge Rs. 100/-. Also you can see the vintage car collection of the Nizams. Entry fee is Rs. 100/- per head. Paid Parking is available outside the palace at Rs. 50/-.

My visit to the palace was a captivating experience filled with awe and wonder. The grandeur of the architecture, intricate detailing, and historical significance left a lasting impression on me. As I wandered through the opulent halls and rooms, each telling its own story, I couldn't help but marvel at the artistry and craftsmanship of a bygone era. The palace grounds, adorned with lush gardens and majestic courtyards, added to the overall splendor. Exploring the rich history within those walls transported me to a different time, making the visit truly memorable.

The construction of Chowmahalla Palace was mainly completed between 1857 to 1869 during the rule of fifth Nizam, Afzar-ud-Daulah, Asaf Jav V. However, its building is mostly credited to Nizam Salabat Jang in 1790. The Palace originally covered 45 acres which extended from the Laad Bazaar on the north to the Aspan Chowk Road on the south. Now, the total remained area of the palace is close to 12 acres. The palace was restored by the Government and was opened to the public in the year of 2005. One can visit the palace throughout the week except on Friday and national holidays.

The word chār or chahār, and its variation chow, means "four" and the word mahal means "palace" in Urdu, Hindi and Persian.[5] All ceremonial functions including the accession of the Nizams and receptions for the Governor-General were held at this palace. The UNESCO Asia Pacific Merit award for cultural heritage conservation was presented to Chowmahalla Palace on 15 March 2010. UNESCO representative Takahiko Makino formally handed over the plaque and certificate to Princess Esra, former wife and GPA holder of Prince Mukarram Jah Bahadur.[6][7]

There are exhibits of crockery, antique clothes, furniture, weapons, bags etc used by the kings and paintings of them. You can dress up as Nawab or Begum and get your pictures clicked too. Worth visiting this palace. There is also display of vintage cars at back side of the palace. There are wonderful spots where we can get outstanding pictures if you are fascinated of it.

This place has 4 palaces, as the name suggests. They have a collection of artefacts of the Royal family, weapons, clothing, Vintage Cars. The experience was satisfactory. It will take around 2 hours to take the whole tour. There is no access to lawns and some other parts of the property which is sad. Water is available at the entrance. Great to visit during monsoon July-sept.

Chowmahalla palace I never heard before, untill i visited today. All the vintage items and apparels which they wore at that time and beautiful garden. Vintage cars. Of course the swords and armor and sheild which were used in the battle field. Entry fee 60₹ and camera (photography extra 60₹) it is almost 1.5 kms from charminar so whenever you plan for charminar try to cover this place too. I could say, this place is like a art gallery or collection of all vintage items. So one Hall you could see all the dinner set and furniture set and in another mahal you could see theri dress and footwear including their children's.. Overall it is nice place and it takes almost 1 to 2 hrs of time to cover entire mahal.

Well maintained and clean, the coronation hall is stunning with huge chandeliers and beautifully done up interiors! There are elaborate history charts adorning the walls of this Palace and the first floor has quaint furniture/ clothes, paintings and crockery of that era! The complex also houses the famous 1912 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost of the erstwhile Nizam

Absolutely worth visiting. Well maintained and almost every corner is beautiful. The staff is really friendly and it's overall really affordable. You can buy very pretty authentic jewellery, bags, paintings, post cards, etc. The different mahals inside act as museums for antique clothes, armoury, utensils, paintings, cars, etc too! The washrooms are clean and basic snacks are available. You can dress up as a nawab or begum and get your pictures clicked too! It's a fun experience, irrespective of whether you are going alone, or with your partner, or with your whole family.

Its was really an amazing experience to know about such rich Nizam history. It was really a great day to be there and feel our past time living experience. I appreciate you guys to come and enjoy here. You can see here : Historical stamps. Cutlery and crockery used by Nizam. Weapons and maps used is that era. Sculpture and Townhall. vintage car and buggy.

Beautiful palace and good place to learn about the better years Hyderabad had witnessed. I hope the Main Gate and its maintenance is done quickly. Locals have made it open urinal and the illegal construction on the compound wall makes the place a mess. Wish to see them all removed and make it a better parking for the visitors.

Beautiful from inside and outside.. neatly maintained..There is photo studio at the entrance where you can get photo clicked wearing nizam style dresses.. They charge 100 rupees for one hard copy ,but if you have haggling skills, he will give you 3 hard copies for 200 rupees.. They have quran gallery where photography is not allowed, otherwise 60 rupees charge for using camera. There is section displaying vintage cars too.. Overall worth visiting place, especially if you like visiting historical places .. If you read the details of each item on display, then you need 2-3 hours to complete the palace tour.. otherwise 1.5 hours will be sufficient..

Beautiful Monument, Pride of Hyderabad! A must visit place for tourists who come to Hyderabad. The charminar and its surrounding area truly showcases the culture and people of Hyderabad. We visited it in Aug 2020 and entry was restricted inside it due to lockdown situation. Although markets and everything surround it was open! A man will take just 20min cover the entire monument and its surrounding but a lady will take more than entire day because of the market out there #clothes #bangles #necklace #everything One cam get A-Z items in charminar market. Some rules needs to be made to restrict street vendors to sit near monument. Overall i can say #Hyderabad aaye aur charminar nahi dekha to kuch nahi dekha 💁‍♂️

The construction of Chowmahalla Palace was mainly completed between 1857 to 1869 during the rule of fifth Nizam, Afzar-ud-Daulah, Asaf Jav V. However, its building is mostly credited to Nizam Salabat Jang in 1790. Various galleries in the Palace with each presenting an interesting display of crockery, clothes, furniture, coins and currency notes, pictures from the Nizam era.

Only the palace durbar hall is maintained very well and has some great exhibits. However the remainder of the buildings have fallen into disrepair. There's parking in the complex. If you want to spend some quality time looking at the exhibits and enjoy the history, go on weekdays. If not, then first thing in the morning on weekends. Once the screaming kids and loud adults pour in, it's just another tourist attraction.

Worth a visit to this palace which gives information about Nizam family, their lifestyle. Well maintained palace and lawns and fountains inside. Good parking for approximately 30-40 cars. Entry Ticket costs 60 per person indian citizen. You have canteen as well as washroom inside.

  • 4/5 Couchflyr W. 2 years ago on Google
Mahals for visitors, Mahals for the royals, spacious gardens with water features, cannons still in place, it reverberates with an air belonging to past glorious days. The main Darbar hall is resplendent with regal collection of chandeliers, light from which probably once reflected in perfect glory off the shining marble floors. Not much is left though elsewhere, barring the collection of vintage Rolls Royce, Buick and few such others that will surely appeal to the connoisseurs.

  • 5/5 SIGNA J. 2 years ago on Google
The palace throne room is so beautiful and intact. There are displays of various artifacts used by Nizam VI, VII, VIII which includes dress, vintage cars, sword, guns and other weapons, cutlery, earthenware and other items used in kitchen, Different types of Quran used at that time, tables and cupboards etc. Visit to this palace is a must for museum lovers. There's canteen and washrooms inside. Ticket rate is 60 Rs for indian and 300 Rs for foreign nationals. Also we can take photo by wearing traditional dress.

Tucked in the heart of old Hyderabad city, the palace is a good visit if you like history. Visit the palace with time bandwidth of 1-2 hours to relish the historical facts and architecture. Good part is that visit to palace can be combined with visit to Charminar as it is hardly 5 minutes from it. Park your vehicle in the palace parking area, and you can go walking or take auto rickshaw to go to charminar.

Came to know about this place recently. It is a good place to visit. Worth spending time in Hyderabad. You can cover in 1 hr. It is equally good and even better than Mysore palace. It has good antique things to display compared to Mysore palace. Antique Clothing of Nawabs and their ladies. Their weapons and armour. Awesome vintage cars and bikes ranging from 1907.

The place is average, it gives a refreshing vibe, but it is not well maintained, the antiques are well kept and the history is detailed !

At walking distance from Charminar, it is a very good tourist attraction. Very historic. Very big. Entry fee and mobile photography fee are a bit high. ( 100 each). It is well maintained. Beautiful artifacts and palatial structure. Many small museums inside it. Vintage cars, weapons, cloths, crockery etc. Time well spent. It takes time if viewed properly and in essence.

Last weak I visited the Chowmahlla Palace. This palace took away my tiredness of the whole day. The palace is unique for its style and elegance. Construction of the palace began in the late 18th century and over the decades a synthesis of many architectural styles and influences emerged. If you travel to Hyderabad, must visit this palace.

Located in the heart of the city, it is one of the most epic places to visit. The palace is just amazingly beautiful. The vintage car collection is mind blowing. Must visit places in Hyderabad. Ceilings are beautifully carved. Huge windows, and the way they've arranged the weapons on the wall.... was a lovely experience...everything is worth it.

The palace is a beautiful place with interesting insight into the life of the Nizams. Intricate architecture, fascinating weapons and art and the beautiful vintage cars of a time that probably is lost to our modern ways of life. Time required: 1 to 3 hours(quick walk through vs detailed reading of facts given) I visited on a weekend around 11am so there was very little crowd. Toilets are near entrance. ₹100 for adults ₹40 for kids ₹400 for foreigners

A nice archeological site to experience the culture and life of Nizam's of Hyderabad. Although the site has significant importance to the history of Hyderabad, the palace is not very well maintained. The entry fee is Rs.100/- for adults and the parking is also available. Palace is just a 5mins walk from the iconic Charminar.

Amazing showcase of the Nizams lifestyle and their culture. Lots of artifacts from the nizam era. The only bugbear was that they only allow mobile cameras. They can ban tripods to discourage professional modelling photography. But encourage people from getting cameras to allow for better photos.

This is the must visit when you go to Hyderabad. You can't miss this by any chance. You can cover this place with Charminar as both are just 15min walk away. It literally gave me the feeling that it was a huge palace and a different era altogether. When you enter the main gate you'd feel a bit surprised since there's wall and then immediately you'd see the entrance. You'd not expect much but that's where you'll get a pleasant surprise. The palace is not recently renovated, repairs are still ongoing at many places. However, they have maintained this place's sanctity so well that even if I shouldn't compare.. I will say Chowmahalla palace over Mysore palace any day. You'll get what I'm saying when you see pictures. I'm still in awe and I went a month back in October'23 Entrance fees: Rs. 50-100 An amazing palace and the surrounding place. I really loved ittt!

Palace is good. There are many buildings in the vicinity and the palace is in the centre. Apart from the many chandeliers hanging from the roof, there isn't much to talk about. One can go to the first floor climbing the wooden stairs to get another view. One thing that is noteworthy to mention about the palace is the collection of vintage cars. Those cars are well maintained and kept in a glass enclosure.

If you're quite curious about historical places it'll feel good otherwise you'll take it as a boring place. You'll get to know about nizam's lifestyle. It's full of elegance and beauty from history, moto enthusiastic people will get to see vintage cars (it includes a V6 engine SUV from Nissan) and bikes. Overally it's a nice place and you should pay a visit for sure. You'll get many beautiful frames to capture yourself. (Pro tip - Don't pay extra to click pictures just grab your tickets and go inside capture yourself and the beauty of this heritage site.)

Best place in Hyderabad for clicking nice pics. The whole palace looks so royal and elegant. There are many antique pieces such as royal clothing, the vehicles used at that time and many more. The entry ticket is 100rs per person which I think is worth spending. But they say that for phone photography you have to pay 50 rs which is not at all required. So don't fall for it... It is a must visit place when you are nearby charminar as it is just 10 mins walk from there.
