Old style hotel serving good quality vegetarian food. We had South Indian Thali from there. There were a variety of dishes, including yummy thick curd and dessert. It gets usually crowded during lunch time. So it would be better to reach there early. The staff is professional and helpful. A must visit if you like authentic vegetarian food.

Great food , Decent ambience , Okayish service !!! Had to show this place to my friends from Chennai because it serves authentic South Indian food. And they did like this place☺️ Food - Fell in love for their breakfast. Cant specifically mention one item to try because almost all their items we tried were good to taste.👌🏼 Service - Here comes the worse part. Despite having people flow in large numbers their service was not upto the mark. May be they can improve on this part👬 Ambience - A bright ambience with large seating 💺 Thumbs up for their food 👍🏼

What a place it is!!!! Just the authenticity of their love for customers and quality got them till now. It's been a great history down the years and they do carry it till date. Breakfast is 😋 yum. Believe me I'm a proper non-vegetarian and I can never imagine to go to a pure restaurant and have food. But i just love the food here and you'll enjoy those historical architecture around you.

The main reason for selecting this hotel was the parking space as we drove from Chennai. The hotel had a large spacious parking lot. The location of the hotel is the icing on the cake. Invariably, Hyderabad has minimal choices of restaurants for vegetarians but Hotel Taj Mahal, Abids is an exception. They have a wonderful restaurant inhouse., Should accept that the restaurant is pretty expensive, given the choices of food and the quality, it is lucrative. The rooms are small but maintained well. The receptionist and the room service executives are very courteous and service-oriented. The room tariffs are very nominal. The restaurant room service, especially for beverages, is quick,. Breakfast, and buffet (Chargeable) had a decent spread and taste. The only negative I could find in the hotel is the parking security. They did not direct us properly for parking however were interested in taking the tips only. Otherwise, I won't think twice about staying at the Taj Mahal Abids the next time.

One of the best vegetarian places for food conniseours. Excellent taste added with numerous varieties. Meticulously clean, No disturbances but unfortunately lesser staff from local state. Food served though by choice had more of North Indian flavours.

It's beautifully constructed and maintained the rooms were very nice and big. The buildings are quite nice and carry heritage. The banquet halls were beautiful and lavish. The room service, though, is very slow. It took almost 45 minutes for them to bring me 2 cups of coffee. The food was quite good, though. Overall i think it's a very good value for money hotel

Has an old world charm, food I good, the place is frequented by tourists aswell ad the locals and is over crowded therefore poses a potential threat of contracting a covid like diseases as one has to do away with the mask in order to eat & there's isn't much space to maintain social distancing. Additionally it is under staffed & they keep you waiting for a long time - good if u want to pass your time, bad if you are really hungry. Waiters lack manners, they stack the plates with food one above the other while delivering at tables. Certain foods on the menu card are made available only at specific times & there's a huge parking problem.

Outdated in all respects. Rooms need renovations. Booked Heritage rooms but provided executive. They don’t know how to treat their guests at reception. No news channels were broadcasting.. on complain, temporarily charged for few channels. Rooms are big with mismatched infrastructure.. limited breakfast options. overall a very bad experience.

I had booked a suite, and they gave me a standard room which was pretty damp due to water leaking and ongoing construction. After continuous follow up, they gave me a better room in a new building, but not a suite. The location wise it's the centre of the city. Very good connectivity to all main markets and sites that visitors do visit.

We went to eat meals since plate meals were not available in main section ,where ambience was excellent , we were told to go to adjesant building. Here came the surprisingly low quality of plate meals and services, though charge was 150/ plate, higher than in tajmahal secunderabad. No AC. Ordinary table and chair. Management must either improve it or rather not serve at that portion. Though main portion may have a different experience.

This is an oldest hotel in the heart of the first city. The place is very popular, well maintained and situated in midst of Abids shopping centre’s. Recommended for family and friends. Breakfast is good

I am so glad to have found this lovely abode during our visit (me with my wife) to this city. It is located in a very prime area and 10min from the Hyd Deccan railway Terminus. The place is simply cozy and aptly comfortable. The hotel staff is cooperative and thoroughly service oriented. They also have a restaurant which serves great vegetarian food. A full 10/10 for making my visit memorable 💐

Room was clean. Service was good. Average food. But would not recommend having tea as part of room service. Cost of 1 tea was 84₹. Just to compare cost of 1 curd rice was 173₹.

I am going to this hotel since my childhood along with my father. Now I go with my children & grand children. It is one of the few hotels of Hyderabad which is maintaining the taste of the food, quality, neatness consistently & the staff is very courteous. They serve you with a smile.

Came here for breakfast on a busy Sunday morning. Food is good however the wait staff forgets they have placed and order and doesn't follow up with the customers. We ended up waiting for our second order over 20 m even though it was placed together. Multiple times waived to the staff to catch their attention but they are busy n didn't really bother to look at tables. Only reason food is standard.

Very good hotel in the heart of the city. Old is Gold. Tasty & hot food served here. Beautiful banquet hall is their & resently it has been renovated. South Indian, North Indian, Chinese & Continental Food are available here. Parking place is their & Valet parking is available. Please do visit it is very good place for families. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

On the whole it's a good experience to have dined today in the afternoon on the auspicious occasion Ugadi, the Telugu New Year. This is not the first time we ate here. We had food here many a time before prior to onset of covid. The food served was tasty. The staff were very cooperative. You get the starters at yr seat. I wanted in fact to accord 5 star grading but not done because I want this hotel to show improvement by way of incorporating better n more varieties of sweets n ice creams n also curries especially andhra or north or both which are traditional n not this kind of mirchisalan kind of curries which are not stomach friendly. I feel that food shouldn't only be tasty but also soft kn stomach. Hope this suggestion is weighed by the hotel n make requisite changes/improvement which I'm looking forward to see in my next visit

Hotel is good. Food is nice. However as this is a old hotel. Needs renovation. Sofas are old and sponge in the sofas are uneven and not comfortable to sit. Washbasins needs urgent repair. Apart from that all good.

The hotel is in the Abids area, near to the bus stand and railway station and almost one hour away from the airport. The rooms are okay kinds ( no ventilation ). The service was good otherwise. The breakfast was good.

Poori was good and idly was good. Vegetable cutlet was hard and boring. Parking could be an issue for cars, however that’s the best option anyway if you are in that vicinity. Food hygiene is good, however the seating hygiene could have been better

The prices are really high . But the buffet service is really amazing and the taste is also good. The residency that is the hotel rooms are also very neat , nice and clean. The service provided is also magnificent💫!

I would have given 10 stars out of 5 if there is an option. Had south Indian thali today and it was amazing. The service I got (don’t remember his name) from one of the waiters was over the moon. Servicing was unlimited and taste was too good. I stay very far from this restaurant but will definitely visit again.

Definitely worth the money. Stay, room service and every other aspect was satisfactory. I shall definitely come back to this place if I were to come to Hyderabad again! And yes, shall recommend this place to others too.

One of the best hotels earlier COVID now lost that touch and passion. Quality and quantity is drastically decreased and waiters asking tips with no reasons. I don't recommend this hotel any more and i removed from my favourite list. It is going to be shut down soon

This is a very old time hotel with a touch of legacy. Pure vegetarian and taste is okay, though not great. It's simple taste at moderate pricing. Good to go with family and friends. Good atmosphere and caring servers.

This place is iconic, hasn’t changed much in taste for the 2 decades I’m coming here. We had the North Indian and the South Indian thali for dinner. The food is absolutely delicious especially the South Indian and is a lot and neither of us could finish it. Best to forego spoons ans forks and dive in.

Visited the Taj Mahal restaurant after many years. It is the same after many years. But the parking situation seems to have improved a lot. It is a cosy place with an old day charm in the food, the seating and the waiting staff. I ordered a South Indian thali ( if a thali is available, i rarely order anything else). The others ordered dosas. The service is super quick. The thali was great with pooris, dal, aloo, other curries, curd and raita. Add the fried butter milk chillies and papad. It came with an interesting beetroot halwa which i avoided to start off, but then i was served a bowl of mango ice cream. I rarely eat the desserts but one taste of that ice cream and i was hooked. Just ate the whole thing and no guilt. I am going to go back just for the ice cream someday.

I have been visiting here since the last 40 years... Ambience is still maintained but food quality is not the same as it was earlier... Upma was their MUST HAVE earlier.... But not now ... Had poori and it was OK...not great

I happened to visit their restaurant which is close to 70 years and the crowd and items on their menu was huge.The owner's have amalgamated the Udupi Style to suit the foodie Hyderabadi taste without compromising on the taste. It was a pleasure to visit and saviour the south Indian breakfast in leisure. I would highly recommend to all visiting Hyderabad whether on business or pleasure to enjoy the food items here. I haven't stayed to write about the rooms and their facilities they definitely must be good as they are pretty old establishment which is centrally located in Hyderabad.

I love Taj Mahal's food. The taste is still the same from many years but they need to work on their interior. Being such a popular hotel the interiors don't match especially the A/C section.

This is more of a restaurant and function hall rather than a hotel to stay. It serves top quality vegetarian mainly south Indian food along with some Punjabi food. There is always a crowd and one may have to wait though they have a lot of seats, most are occupied. Excellent place to visit for meals too. There ample parking at the site. Most visitors may think it's part of Taj Mahal mumbai. There is mo relationship between the two.

Worst experience of dining. We waited for more than 30 mins to just give the order. Post never received it until reminded twice. The waiters just keep roaming and never care to serve customers. Been in hyd over 25 years but never faced such issue with any renowned hotels. Pure waste of time and money

We were visiting hyd from Canada. Wasn't too happy with the service. Giving 2 stars for the food as it was delicious. They took long to seat us even though tables were empty. The manager was rude and had to be asked for everything. They didn't even have disposable glasses and were just given water bottles to drink from directly. I'm surprised at the service as its a well known place .FYI this was the AC section that seats families. They should have a separate bathroom for men and woman. Not happy

Food quality is good. Wait time during peak hours is little annoying but worth waiting for delicious food. Car parking is also enough for patrons. Gulab Jamun and ice cream with fruits is very good. Overall I am a happy laughing customer.

I stayed in Taj Mahal Abids for a day while commuting through Hyderabad. It's situated in the center of the city and there are a lot of shopping places and restaurants around. The hotel is an old heritage hotel and is maintained well. The rooms were big and we didn't face any issues. There is ample parking space however the road to the hotel is quite crowded due to the market.

I did love the hotel. They are renovating the rooms. I have stayed in other hotels in Hyderabad but here the toilet bowl was squeaky clean and white compared to other ones which had brown stains. The staff is very courteous and caring. They went out of their way to assist me with printouts. Sharath at the reception was helpful and Amjad from housekeeping. Even the room service was prompt and they were courteous. I had a comfortable stay here. The staff are real open to feedback and take action.

Felt nostalgic for visiting the place after a long time. Good seating arrangement and decent food. They don't serve water. One has to buy water bottle. When I asked the floor manager he said 'due to Covid norms we are not serving water'! 😯 Is there such a norm in Hyderabad? I haven't seen others following.

I found it quite cozy, comfortable and reasonable. It has a great ambiance and the environment is quite soothing. The food was great bonus points for being reasonable. Didn't really enjoy the tea though. Hopefully they can look into it and make the tea more flavourful. It was kinda bland to be honest. Overall it was a good experience and I enjoyed it.

This review is specifically for the tmh special thali . We ordered the special meal expecting really tasty food but it was a complete opposite scenario . Sorry to say but the sambar tasted bad and the curry was tasteless the naan was really rubbery even the sweet was not good at all . We have had much better experience with this hotel but this time they couldn’t meet our expectations.
