It is a place where spring water comes out, and it has a very mysterious atmosphere, probably because of the beautiful white Kansui stone. (^-^) However, please be careful as it is not drinking water.

    偕楽園内にあります。地形の高低差を利用し湧水が湧き出てるそうです。 2月に行きましたが、水温が温かったです。 飲料水ではないとかいてありました。

At the edge of Kairakuen. I think it would be closer if you go from the front gate. Since it was winter, I thought it would be cold, but when I put my hand over the flowing water, it felt surprisingly warm.

Visited on a hot day in August. After passing through the tree-lined path, there is a spring at the end. (New feature: 2 seconds video) I was drawn to the fact that a person running in my neighborhood seemed accustomed to drinking water in a plastic bottle, so I decided to give it a try as well. The water was cold and delicious. (Although they seem to have tested it, they don't seem to recommend drinking it, so it's at your own risk)

(Translated by Google) A bit shady description and stone color... but here it is. There are quite a few steep stairs, so be careful. [Visited in September 2018] (Original) ちょっと胡散臭い説明と石の色ですが… ここにあります。 急な階段が結構ある道なので、注意が必要です。 【2018年9月 訪問】

From the front gate, go through the Moso bamboo grove on the front gate route, go to the right at the fork, and a staircase will appear. As I descended the rather steep stairs, a white marble fountain caught my eye. I was captivated by the sight of the crystal clear spring water cascading down the pale marble. There was also a toll booth near Togyokusen that was only open during the plum blossom season.

[Marble spring, pipes added later] This is a place where there has been a lot of spring water since ancient times, and the water was said to be effective against eye diseases. When creating Kairakuen, the spring water was used for the tea ceremony in the tea room Karouan, and a white izutsu was installed in consideration of the landscaping. It is called Togyokusen because it is cold even in the summer and constantly spews clear, bead-like water. The Togyokusen, which is said to have been devised by Prince Nariaki, an expert on water conservancy, is constructed by burying a collection tank several meters away and directing the water through a pipe from there. It seems that the clear water has never dried up since the time of the landscaping.

It is located near the Togyokusen toll gate in Kairakuen, and Taro Cedar is also nearby. It's very artificial, just a piece of marble placed in a place with spring water.

Spring water comes out of a marble well. Apparently you can't drink tap water.
