Amazing Canyon worth seeing, even under rain! The waterfall is really beautiful, but the most stunning part for me was the canyon really deep into the ground. Which is quite surprising considering how flat the surroundings are. If you are coming on a rainy day, get ready for a mud bath as the road and the path can be quite muddy.

Absolutely stunning waterfall and canyon! We were one of a few people there and got to witness this beauty. Definitely worth it even if rainy and chilly. The gravel road up wasn’t too bad and the canyon and waterfall are right next to the car park.

A short distance off Hwy 1, this waterfall should be a stop. Ample free parking, easy view of a beautiful, strong yet "troll" size waterfall is nestled among beautiful hills and Iceland horse & sheep pastures. It's fortunate that it doesn't get more press as it is nestled among local farms and pastures. Respect the speed limit and privacy of the locals. Easy access to view. No WC

This is definitely a hidden gem in Iceland. We were alone here when we arrived and the scenery is stunning. The drive to the parking is also fairly easy. Go check it out and take some pictures not many Iceland tourists will have.

This place was fantastic. We were here in March and it was mostly frozen. You can hear the power of the falls from the bridge. It's a very short easy walk from the parking lot to many different viewpoints. The canyons are really cool and pretty deep. I'd definitely recommend taking the drive off the main rd to come and see this spot.

Two parking places on either side of the bridge. The first is bigger. You can walk around on both sides of the canyon and explore. Lots of look out points. Beautiful place.

Easy pit-stop well worth the gravel road drive. You would not expect these views when evaluating the scenery from the paved road. Go and enjoy. Hopefully with better weather than us, although in rain and wind there wasn't many others. The parking lot is small but on the other side of the bridge is a bit more room.

Visited this place in December, full winter weather,-12*,was totally worth it.The crevasses were oddly shaped and the waterfall was struggling to shape a stream between the rocks. If you go winter time put extra clothes because it’s in the middle of nowhere and if you really enjoy the view a cup of hot cocoa (out of a thermos of course 😅)will go perfect with the place.

Easy 6km drive on gravel road to get here but was worth it. We stopped and had a coffee here and was blown away from the canyon and the power of the water. Well worth the stop

Lovely canyon with waterfalls. There is limited parking and huge tour buses coming which seems a bit excessive. Be careful as some of the best angles are quite dangerous and precarious on slippy spots near drops.

Short distance off the Ring Road with free parking on both sides. The Canyon is an easy view and easy exploring to get many different and amazing looks at the canyon and with a beautiful powerful waterfall. There is also a bridge that you can walk across where you can get an amazing view at it’s depth. I would recommend this as a stop if you are traveling the Ring Road. There were not a lot of tourists when we stopped here compared to other stops. I would say that this is a hidden gem in Iceland.

Post rain made this a very muddy drive into the area! The parking is free, but small, on either side of a one lane bridge. This is a low effort, high reward type attraction! Once you park you can see Kolugljufur canyon immediately. Optional hiking around the canyon where you can walk along the canyon or towards the waterfall. Some areas were slippery and there were some steeper steps, but nothing too challenging. Of course everyone should exert caution when exploring since there aren’t really roped off areas or anything! No bathroom facilities on premise, but you can definitely drive out 10-15mins to a local cafe or gas station! We spent about an hour there because we did a lot of exploring!

We came here in June. We had a lot of fun exploring this canyon and climbing around, which allowed us to get different angles of inside the canyon and the waterfall. It wasn't overly crowded with tourists when we came. Recommend making a pitstop here if you are driving the Ring Road.

Parking available right next the waterfall. Area is abit muddy and slippery after rain or snow. Good for a short visit if you are around the area. Can take a short walk around the canyon but some road might be muddy and slippery. Both sides of the canyon are accessible by crossing the bridge. Hidden gem.

Free place to visit. Easy to get to on dirt road. You can walk to either side of the falls and get down by the bottom. Not very many people either.

Stunning natural wonder. Charactised by its tranquility and unique charm. Turquoise coloured water. Could be a little slippery if wet. Just walk with precaution. Free parking lot next to the canyon.

👍 This place does not well marked parking place. Finding parking is tricky. Don't follow Google map, it will take you to a different location. Take left just before the N1 petrol pump. Drive on the gravel road till the bridge and park anywhere on the field. Follow the hiking path. There are 3 waterfal...
