I visited this Iceland cuisine restaurant for our lunch. There was very comfortable. All staffs were very kind. Of course, our ordered meals were also very good. If I have a chance to come to Reykjavik again, I look forward to visiting again. Thank you!

We stopped in for lunch after walking around the city. The fish and chips are very good (my wife ate all of it and she doesn't like fish 😉). The reindeer burger was moist and very well seasoned. The staff is friendly and happy to make recommendations and explain the items on the menu. For those visitors that only speak English the menus are dual language and easy to read.

Very happy with the food and service! Traditional Icelandic food is available here. Dishes we tried - Icelandic tomato soup and Lamb shank. Both are delicious. Really appreciate the staff. They were accommodating. I changed my order once and also requested for a Rúgbrauð (rye bread) in place of normal bread which is served with the soup, and they kindly accepted my request. I personally loved the butter given for the bread. I think I would come back just for this butter! ;) Make a prior reservation, which helps in getting you a seat without any waiting time.

A nice place where you can taste some traditional food from Iceland! The Lamb speciality I liked very much! The Whale thing I find personally impossible to eat, is not for me, but it worth a try! Bathroom 3/5. Atmosphere 5/5. Food 4/5! The sauce on chicken wings was the worst thing! Very nice presentation by soups, they are served in some small and nice bowls! The soups were delicious!

Absolutely fantastic place. The staff are kind and polite, the atmosphere and the vibe are very warm, and the menu has some unique options. We tried the Reindeer Burger and the Whale steak, which were really delicious. Try early evening around 17:30 to avoid the crowd. Cards are welcome.

Really nice authentic Icelandic food. We went for the grilled puffin, fin whale, reindeer burger and fermented shark. All were good. The puffin especially was delicious and the fin whale was also very nice, but be prepared for some extremely rare meat. The reindeer burger was just a normal burger, still tasty though. Lastly the fermented shark was the most interesting. They serve six small cubes in a sealed glass jar to keep the smell in. And it basically smells and tastes like ammonia, but surprisingly was actually quite nice. If you can get past the ammonia smell. Service was friendly if a bit slow. And overall a great value meal. We spend 10,000 ISK on 3 starters and 1 main course plus drinks which seems relatively affordable for Reykjavik.

Loved this place! We had the dogs, lobster and lamb, which were amazing, especially the lamb one. Very different and soft lamb. The chicken wings had an tasty sauce too. Highly recommend this place. It has a non stop kitchen and the waiters are very friendly too

I came from the Puffin tour hungry and was looking for a place that served traditional Icelandic meat soup (lamb) so I could warm up before my next tour. The place was easy to find and not too crowded at 3:30pm. I was greeted warmly by the host and seated almost immediately after I entered. He let me choose between table options which was also cool. The menu was brought quickly and the items were listed both in Icelandic and English with good descriptions. I placed my order and was able to tell them what which items to bring first. A few minutes later I was eating my soup. The food was awesome and the service was excellent. The music that was playing gave the place a nice ambiance. I would definitely eat there again.

One of the best meals we had in all of Iceland. This place gets busy so patience might be required, but the food is worth it! We had the slow cooked lamb shank, the whale steak, and surf and turf burger. Outstanding food with friendly service.

Came here twice during my stay, very satisfied. Got the traditional soup and a Viking beer the first time and liked it so much I came back on my last day and got the soup again. My friend got the lobster dog and liked it. Staff are really helpful but don't bother you too much. I think they may close the kitchen between lunch and dinner (maybe 2-4pm?) but I'm not sure about this. Definitely recommend!

The Icelandic meat soup tasted better than I feared 😉 and it was quite filling. Burger and fries were good too, pancakes did not live up to expectations. And they had a piano player in the restaurant that played super nicely!

The service was very good. The waiter got us all that we needed, helped with everything. Also he told us about a dish that wasn’t on the menu, that was prepared only in that day of the year for a local celebration.

Great food, great atmosphere, well worth a visit. We have been three times during our trip. Tried a number of different dishes and all were yummy. They treated my missus very kindly on her birthday meal. Very happy

Warm and cozy atmosphere and really friendly staff. I had the chance to try some exquisite palette the grilled whale fin and reindeer meat burger, both tasted amazing. The waffle fries were a fun touch and enjoyed the Viking beer as well. Overall great food that does not burn a hole in your wallet (restaurants can be very expensive in Iceland), totally recommend!

An amazing Icelandic meal! I would highly recomend the Christmas lamb if you are around at that time of the year, it melts in your mouth! The service was also very quick and the waitress was the friendliest in Iceland!

Great find. Not touristy. Local fish dishes, soups, salads, lamb, salmon, and lobster rolls ("hot dogs"), beef, reindeer or vegan burgers. The lamb is highly recommended, and my partner loved the grilled fin whale ("like beef"), trying what international treaties don't allow in most countries. I had the smoked lamb on Icelandic flat bread and it was enough for a light repast, and left room for the sweet "pancakes" dessert we split.

Our large group had an early dinner, at around 4pm, so right around the time they open. It wasn’t crowded at first but the restaurant quickly filled up. It’s a small dining area with a small bar and this place is very popular. So if you can, pre-book. It smells a little fishy when you walk in so that turned off a couple of non-fish eaters in our group. Just order a beer and the smell quickly goes away! I had the vegan burger (one of two vegan options in their very small menu) and husband decided on the Icelandic beef soup. Both were very good. Portions were a good size and filled us up so we didn’t order dessert. We also had their Gull beer and a gin & tonic. The atmosphere was lively and fun. The staff was friendly and really helpful and patient. They’re really good at their job. There was a line of people waiting when we left. We really enjoyed our dinner here and hope to visit again soon.

Wonderful restaurant! Call ahead (a few days in advance) to make a reservation during peak times. Although, if you come after 9pm there is no wait. They are open until 1am. The Seafood Soup and both Fin Whale dishes were wonderful. The Reindeer burger, the Braised Lamb Dog, and Lobster Dog are also very good. A highlight of our trip. Was so good I visited twice during the week I was there.

A very cosy place! As a solo traveler, I sometimes get nervous dining alone, but I didn't feel awkward at all here. The waitress who served me was lovely and she showed me how to eat the dishes in line with icelandic tradition. I had a ghost rider beer, dried cod, fermented shark and a reindeer beer. Every single thing I ate was delicious! It was a bit on the pricey side, but I'm still glad I went.

We were looking for some more authentic dining options and came across this place. My fiance ordered the fish pie, and I ordered fish of the day, which was a much larger serving than anticipated but very delicious. We shared the fish soup and the puffin. The puffin was definitely interesting as the crumpet it was served on was slightly sweet, as were the blueberries. That may seem out of place, but it definitely added to the dish. And if you aren't a fan of wild meat, it hides some of that gamey taste.

Appetizer smoked salmon with nice hint of lemon zest, which made it refreshing. Fish of the day oven baked Cod is really good, with a nice touch of vege. Fish pie also tasted very good. Viking lager helped the joy with delicious food!

Cute little pub restaurant. Our favourite was the Icelandic meat soup. The fin whales was also quite interesting - similar to gamey meat. We found the lamb a bit sweet for our liking.

Amazing and very special restaurant in Reykjavik. Perfect mix of traditional Icelandic and standard fare. We tried the Christmas lamb and platter, and went back twice afterwards. Book for supper, but not that busy over lunch. Good service as well. Loved the dunk-smoked salmon on Icelandic rye, like eating Lagavulin.

Very friendly staff and excellent food. Though we weren’t long in Reykjavik we wanted to find a nice place to eat some fish, luckily we found this one! The catch of the day was very good! The fish & chips were not our favorite, but there was definitely enough cod in there to enjoy it! The food came quickly and tasted good!

We had an excellent time here today. There is a wide selection of Icelandic foods at very fair prices. The food is delicious, the beer is also great, and the staff is friendly and very polite. We would definitely come back. Recommend if you would like to try some delicious local food!

Authentic experience! We tried a few things including the fermented shark and lamb. We had 3 different staff members really engaging in conversation, explaining the local knowledge that just added so much more to the meals. In terms of the meal the drinks and food variety was so good, and the food was so flavoursome - recommend to anyone who wants to learn and try icelandic food!

Wow. Beautifully cooked and served food accompanied by a very good range of craft beers. Service was exemplary and well matched by the food. We had a range of dishes all were superb. I will return!

Amazing burger and lobster dog. Decent size and quality food. A local sat next to us and said this is his go-to place. Service is quick and warm. The decoration inside is also lovely. Good location to go to high street and the harbour.

This is a must visit restaurant in Reykjavik in my opinion. The service is great. And the food is fresh and authentic. The lamb shank was delicious. But the fish of the day is the winner. It was baked Cod when I was there but one of the other customers said that they had another fish on a different day and even that was amazing. So it sounds like no matter what day, the fish will always be a catch!

Loved the food. It’s a pretty cool cafe/beer bar. We had lunch here on our second last day of the trip and it was amazing! I ordered vegetarian burger, and it was amazing. I could not finish it as it was too much! They serve fries with it, but you can ask them to replace sweet potato fries with regular ones! I also loved their waffle fries! My friend had rain deer burger and he found it okayish! Their tomato soup is pretty good. Crispy chicken burger is not bad as well! Highly recommend this place.

A native guide recommended us this place, and justly. Traditional meat soup was really authentic and warming after a walk in the cold. Lobster & cheese salad was amazing and fresh. I'm not sure, that I can feel the difference between the reindeer burger and any regular beef burger, but it was also delicious! :)
