Well, this was such a glorious spot to stop after a morning of adventure and hiking. It's situated in such an incredible location with stunning views all around. The staff were super smiley and friendly, which made us feel very welcome. They were attentive and explained the options for all you can eat cake and savories with coffee or hot chocolate from the buffet. This is an AMAZING deal for your money and there was a lovely variety to choose from. I opted to have lunch from their menu, choosing a fish soup, which was exactly what I was craving after a long hike. It was a beautiful creamy soup, a large portion and I wouldn't hesitate in ordering again (it was that nice!) All in all, a lovely place to visit (it's also a museum) with friendly staff and plenty of space for large groups. We'd definitely come back again 👍😊☕🍻🍰

We tried the Deserts Buffet (which starts @ 3pm during summer) and simply loved everything about this place. The location is amazing, you are sitting right in front of the beautiful open plains in a warm and cozy environment. The owners are perfect in guiding you through the cakes and sweets available, making you feel at home. A particular note to the young girl welcoming the guests, who was really friendly but still professional, speaking fluently Italian, Spanish and (of course, since we're in Iceland) English All cakes were hand made and tasted great, with very different kinds to choose from, + Tea, coffee and chocolate included in the price. GREAT!

Amazingly delicate and authentic small-batch lunch buffet and cakes. I’ve no idea about prices as it was included in a tour but the service (in great English) and quality of the food was tremendous, not to mention the quiet and the views.

A delightful experience. For 3499 ISK you can enjoy homemade Icelandic food in a buffet. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Food was always renewed and warm, and it was truly delicious. Some cakes was also included, as well as water, coffee and tea. I definitely recommend this place for a cheap and easy way to try some traditional and delicious food. 6 stars.

Very cosy cafe with private rooms and outdoor dining area. The lunch buffet spread was quite good and reasonable price 3500isk per person. The chocolate cake is yummy.

Very nice and cozy place, great interior with polite staff. Only a few minutes away (by car) from Hengifoss. We had lunch buffet (various dishes and soups, cakes, coffee, tea, water) for the price of 3900 ISK (25 EUR) per person. Very cool restaurant for lunch!

Probably the best food I've been able to try while in Iceland. The lunch buffet from 12 to 2 is great and features so many different dishes, each with their own characteristic taste. At 4490 isk it's totally worth it for an all you can eat.

Perfect place! Really nice and tasty dishes. We ate lamb tenderloin - the meet was soft and tender. There are vegan options too. And large selection of cakes.

Great little place below the museum. We had the cake buffet (6-7 varieties of cakes, plus some savory items, and tea/coffee). Everything was delicious! Easy drive from Hengifoss. Wish I could say what my favorite cake was but they were all so good!

A beautiful, quaint spot run by amazing people. We ordered the cake buffet for about $22 a piece and enjoyed some of the most delicious homemade cake. The owner is so friendly and made us feel right at home. I would definitely recommend.

Excellent options and all prepared with care. They have lamb, fish and many other exotic local stuff, everything tasted so good. Several desert options to choose from as well. Lots of vegetables. I love this place.

I am lucky I don't live in Iceland, otherwise I'd spend my entire salary eating here. This was for sure the highlight surprise of our trip. The food is authentic hand made and simply delicious within a reasonable price. I told the waitress on my way out that this was the best restaurant in Iceland, but even now I don't think that makes justice. If you are going to visit Hengifoss, save this one for after your hike. It will be a nice reward after a good physical activity

Best food in all of Iceland. We happened to taste the cake buffet on our first day, managed to come back for the lunch buffet the next day. Totally worth it! Kind people, greetings to our part-time-austrian guide at the museum.

Absolutely loved our quick lunch stop here after a hike up to Hengifoss! The lunch buffet was delicious and wonderfully presented and the staff were very welcoming. On top of that, the location is incredibly picturesque. Definitely stop in and try their tasty assortment of traditional and exotic dishes (plus yummy cakes)!

My wife and I were extremely impressed with the experience and food offered at Klausturkaffi. The menu states the owner intended to provide a sampling of local foods, and the result is a resounding, and supremely filling, success. Well worth the drive and the cost. Staff were quite friendly!
