Beautiful waterfall, one of the many in Iceland. If you're traveling this way and Klifbrekku is on your way, than make sure you stop and make a look. Otherwise I don't recommend a visit because it's a long drive here and you can lose precious time. Waterfall can be seen from the road and it's not well known by tourists, so it isn't crowded and the roads are almost completely empty. If you want to enjoy a waterfall on your own, this is the right choice.

The gravel road for 16km was NOT fun! Don’t go if you don’t have appropriate vehicle. It’s steep in come parts and a little scary and not really wide enough for two way traffic. The fog set in on my return journey and I could only see 3 meters in front of me so made for a very nervous 40 min of driving. BUT the waterfall is spectacular and my favourite for all of Iceland and absolutely worth it.

Very nice spot, on a very pleasant road to drive. One stunning view after another driving here, and the falls are also fun. Small trail leads you up the falls from the right for more nice views

This is a very pretty waterfall with good scenic views of the valley below, and the falls above. A couple of important notes: 1. A full view of the waterfall is best accomplished in the parking lot as you approach the falls. Once you follow the marked path all the way, it leaves a little something to want since you cannot really see the upper falls. There is a clear make-shift path next to the falls for those brave enough to climb up, which I cannot recommend since I chickened out in climbing it (actual climbing required). 2. The actual road to get to the falls is a little treacherous in itself. Off the main road it is ~13km on a single-way dirt path without marked signage on speed. People FLEW down this path, we opted not to given we had a rental. The road climbs most of the way and goes down a series of switchbacks that are beautiful to view the valley as you descend. There are also some extra waterfalls you will see along the way, which made the whole trek worth it. If you’re taking a long tour of waterfalls, I’d say this one is skippable if it’s at the end of a long day. Good views of the main waterfall are probably best accomplished with a drone.

Didn't find it as fascinating as the other reviews say so. The waterfall was a 7 tier but the flow was ok, can't say it was very impressive. But the drive on the gravel road to the waterfall was really enjoyable. Some steep climbs and downhill sections and the scenery opposite Klifbrekku was very spectacular. Perhaps, if we hike to the top of the waterfall, could've made it a little more enjoyable. Its not easy as it sounds though.

beautiful dirt road to it, beautiful surroundings and there was still snow in the summer, the road itself is doable

Pictures can never do this place justice. Literally hundreds of little (and big) waterfalls everywhere. You have to go over a mountain pass to get there, so be sure to check the weather. The roads is dirt, and the path gets narrow, but the payoff is worth it. As you begin to descend, you're greeted with this insane view of the valley below. The mountains on either side are impossibly large and steep. As you go further, you're met with waterfalls right next to the road. Go a little further, and you'll see the main falls. And, just after that is the best picnic bench placing in possibly the entire world.

A fantastic experience, worth the effort to reach the waterfall. Just be aware that the road is very bad.

Happy to see it again. Waterfall in amazing surroundings of Mjóifjörður. It was our second trip to this place (this time beginning of July). Road to get there is gravel, but we saw worse in Iceland, so didn’t complain.

The waterfall and the entire of the 953 road are some of the best place i've seen in Iceland You can't miss this part of Iceland if you're in Iceland during the summer month (impassable in winter)

If weather is on your side and are able to go to this place, highly recommend going here. It’s not much about the fall but the journey towards the fall that’s breathtaking. Enjoy!!

Interesting valley with waterfalls. There are more than 10 of them. The mountains are quite unusual: up to a certain height they are green from moss, and above - white because of the glacier. As a pleasant bonus there are plenty of blueberry bushes around. There were quite damp when we were there in October. We had to drive through the mountains and occasionally enter the cloud. Visibility instantly drops to 10 meters. Icelandic roads are ready for this: reflective poles are everywhere, you can't leave the road.

Absolutely stunning valley with waterfall. About 17 km down a very steep, narrow and windy gravel road. It is not a F road and i don't know why. Recommend a car with 4wheel drive and higher ground clearance. You also have to drive back up.

Just the most beautiful place on earth. The waterfall is nice but the rest of the scenery is out of this world. The road there is quite rough and we lost cellular signal along the way but it's all worth it!

Second visit. Tied for my most favorite waterfall in all of Iceland.

Beautiful, off the beaten path, well worth stopping when you go visiting the shipwreck. The road is gravel and on some places in not the best shape.

This is the most beautiful place we have seen in Iceland. Do not miss this. You need a 4x4 car, but the drive is incredibly beautiful.

Amazing road… in my opinion the most beautiful and exciting road to drive on in Iceland. At this time of the year it felt like heaven with all the snow and clouds surrounding you on the top. We went with a two-wheel-drive and it was muddy and a bit slippery, but doable. You do need to be confident behind the wheel though.

👍 It's beautiful, but I recommend making sure you have good directions. Many people list it as a 20 minute walk, on an "in and out trail," but there are so many sheep trails that it was impossible for us to figure out the right one. We only scheduled in an hour for it, so we had to turn around after...

👍👍 Nice place to stay, little bit wet, no bats, better to have a helmet for your own safety. Sometimes low ceilings so nothing for claustrophobic people. Little tip: it's a Bad idea to watch movie "The Descent" before going to the mine applies to all mines/caves everywhere in the world.
