Cool waterfall and not too hard to reach but very steep around 30 mins hike. We didn’t make it all the way to Hengifoss.

Boy this is a hike. Take a lot of breaks to make sure you don't start sweating. It's about 1000ft up so the air can feel a bit thin. Make sure you close the gates behind you so the sheep that roam the moutain don't get loose. Bring water as well. The hike is well worth the views you will see. (4km there and back)

This a lovely waterfall tumbling over basalt columns making for a dramatic scene. It's about midway on the trail to Hengifoss, and easier to access than most other basalt waterfalls, which are uncommon. I recommend taking the trail up one side and down the other, which is another unusual feature of these falls. There's a WC in the parking lot, and stray sheep if you're lucky. The food truck was closed (Oct), and the eastside trail is undergoing improvements. Tackle this one early in the day before the clouds roll in if you're visiting in autumn.

It's a beautiful waterfall with basalt columns, you can't miss it on the hike up to Hengifoss. You can get a better view (in my opinion) if you take the trail leading up from behind the food truck, rather than the trail that starts directly at the Hengifoss car park.

I am giving 4 stars, because everything was in the clouds. However, it was beautiful. It is located on the way to Hengifoss, but is best visible from the left side of the canyon.

The falls were pretty. The hike was HARD. It was very very steep! The wind was sharp and bitter. So walking straight up a mountain with wind trying to blow you off the side made for a less pleasant experience. The 4 stars is because the hike being straight up is hard and not very scenic.

Amazing place, there are two trails, one in each side, you can go tô one side and then Cross the bridge in the end of the trail and come back by the other side. The watterfall ia astonishing, but we couldn't reach the Very bottom of It because of a rock slide and ice in the rocks. Still was super worth It. Took us about 45 minutes to get there
