A very good dinner. Try the local scallops caught be a diver next village. Both salmon and curred cod were great. Rhubarb dessert was delicious with homemade icecream. Red wine a bit cold. Very friendly staff. Only open on evenings

The food is simply sensational! When you are nearby, within 1hour drive away I would highly recommend to cone here and enjoy the great dishes they serve. We tried mainly the fish dishes and everything was fabulous. The lobster soup as starter is poetry in your mouth and and also the halibut was quite a benchmark for a brilliant composition with capers, mashed potatoes and beetroot. Too bad I had no space left for dessert... The price is a bit higher than average but more than appropriate for the quality you get. Also wine prices are OK. Whenever I will come back to Iceland I will come here again. Highly recommended!

Easily the best meal we’ve have in Iceland so far. Beautifully prepared food, high quality ingredients and kind and attentive service. We had the lobster soup and the scallops to start alongside homemade sourdough, with the smoked cod and char as mains. Finished off with two delicious desserts of skyr white chocolate ganache and an incredibly decadent chocolate cake. A flawless meal! Now we need a nap…

Extraordinary! We made an unplanned stop here for dinner last night, and were so pleased with our decision. Everything was cooked perfectly (lobster soup, roast beef, mutton, smoked cod) and beautifully plated, and the homemade bread was sublime. Dessert (carrot cake, rhubarb crumble) was delicious as well. Highly recommended if you're looking for a truly gourmet experience in a warm and informal setting.

Great restaurant and definitely worth a visit! We went there spontaneously and loved it. The prices are a bit higher but the quality and taste made it a must visit. We had there the lobster soup as a starter, super fish and full of flavor. Also the portion is quite good and you als get fresh bread, salt and butter, loved it. As main I had the shrimp langustine... wow I never had so many big shrimp in a dish. The ingredients were very fresh and even when it looked like a kind plain and simple dish, the stock was so good and I was more than full after with this portion. This was one of the best shrimps I've ever had. My husbands fish was also super delicious and the ingredients really showed of their natural flavours, very nice.

Such a lovely, small restaurant with a very warm atmosphere. The service was wonderful and the lobster soup… omg the lobster soup. It‘s a dream! Best and most wholesome soup I ever had. Even the simpler things bread, butter and salt were so tasty. We can highly recommend it. Thank you Otto Matur & Drykkur and the team for the lovely experience.

It's the best restaurant in Iceland in my opinion. Ingredients were delicious, prepared exquisitely and Balance well. Chocolate cake was so pure and flavorful. Highly recommended!!

A lovely small restaurant, fresh local food cooked and presented very well. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about produce and ingredients on menu. Atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. Worth booking in advance or arriving early as restaurant does fill quickly during evening. Well worth popping in and trying if in the area.

We decided to have our dinner here while visiting Höfn. This was delicious! We ended up eating 3 courses. The homemade sourdough bread with the butter with skyr in is crazy! So tasty. All the food was great and the atmosphere and setting of the restaurant is very cozy! It’s so close to the harbor it feels as if the fish on your plate just jumped on it through the window, so fresh!

The food was delicious. We got lobster soup and grilled salmon and it was so good. They also provided homemade bread that was out of this world. The service was the most amazing thing. We asked so many questions about Icelandic culture and out waitress answered all of them and was very patient and kind. It’s a really nice place AND it is the very first built house in Hofn!! There’s so much history it’s so interesting. Thank you!!

The place is super cute. Lobster soup was amazing. The dessert was also good. Service wad friendly overall. However, the main dishes didn't feel too refined . While the cod itself was OK, the whole dish was not too nicely presented (the plate was too full) and the vegetables felt a bit bland, really nothing special. The service was OK but lacks etiquette, in example we got brought the bill without asking for it (even though we had starters, mains, and a bottle). Overall it was not bad but given the price, I am not convinced by the overall value and would not come again.

Delicious food! We had the char with asparagus and the smoked code. All was perfect, although rather pricy.
