The appetizer trio was all delicious and amazing flavors. Our main meals that included lamb and fresh fish were excellent including food presentation. We’ll be sure to return.

Amazing city. Have travelled to many countries but this one is one of my faves. Very clean, friendly and crisp! Wrap up and use the bus service as it’s cheap and easy to get about. Breathtaking scenery and views.

Overall underwhelming, underseasoned and overhyped. Very disappointing experience. After seeing the reviews and listings as a fine dining restaurant in Reykjavik this was high up on our places to visit on our trip. Unfortunately we both had the tasting menu with wine pairing and were left underwhelmed I'm going to focus mainly on the food here but strongly suggest DO NOT GET THE WINE PAIRING but you can scroll to the end if you want more information on this. The staff, friendly and charismatic, were very unprepared and had a lack of knowledge about any of the dishes served which was worrying from the start. Then the food starting coming and we were delivered "this is beef" which was a very tasty Steak Tartare. We like to understand what ingredients have been put together and if possible a bit of back story from the dish but as I said the staff only said "this is beef" and left. The next course came as 2 seperate starters together of which we had to ask what we were presented with "salmon and tempura" - the descriptions were less than what we could have guessed already from the visible protein. Again both dishes were delicious with the salmon starter being saved by the yellow beetroot crisps and use of apple. Then the mains... The first main was "salmon" where my wifes was cooked perfectly mine was underdone - both were underseasoned and flavourless. The second main was again "beef" which was tough and also underseasoned. There were no exciting or challenging flavours from either main, both being very bland and boring as well as far too big a portion size for a 6 course meal. By this point we were stuffed even though we did not finish either main course. The desserts were great. Sweet and flavourful with a Yuzu sorbet being the star of the show. Presentation was all fantastic but having such underwhelming dishes with none being memorable to the palate means we would not recommend this restaurant - atleast not for the tasting menu! If perhaps all the reviews are warranted due to key items on their menu then the owners should remove the tasting menu all together. It did not feeling like an experience, journey or a good meal! Now for the wine, the wine pairing served with the tasting menu is all very low grade cheap alcohol with again no explanation of which is which more than "this is a chardonnay". You would be better off saving your money and sourcing one very good bottle to enjoy with your dinner over having any of these wines. They were all very cheap and uninspired and I would be unhappy to drink them anywhere let alone somewhere described as fine dining. Big let down there. Again I would reiterate the staff were very friendly and welcoming but maybe its an issue with understaffed or lack of training. In my opinion having tried many tasting menus this place just should not have one! There are many restaurants in Reykjavik alone that provide better tasting food at better value with a greater experience.

Must visit restaurant in Reykjavik. Recommend getting reservations ahead of time. Best place to try Icelandic cuisine. Food is simple and so delicious. Service is fast and attentive. Lots of conversations all around us. Good for a night out with friends or a romantic date. Their vegan dishes are outstanding.

Amazing fine dining experience for a special occasion. Expect to pay a lot but it is worth it. The salmon was exquisite, I recommend you take the 3 starter suggestions and the 3 desert suggestions for more variety. Our waiter was very helpful and all of our food was adapted for someone with a nut allergy without an issue so that they could try all of the food.

Taster menu was a top experience! The food was amazing in both taste and substance, much more than artistic-looking dishes. The chef's choices for the set were outstanding 👏 👏👏

The restaurant space is beautifully appointed with Tom Dixon light fixtures. The colors are earth toned throughout and perfectly placed tables make the room inviting and just big enough not feel as if the next table is encroaching on your space. The tasting menu is the way to go to get the best of just about everything. It was inventive and tasty. Some dishes fell flat while others (i.e duck tacos) made me want to lick the plate it was served. Good food, good service and overall a wonderful experience.

Stopped in for a cocktail and appetizer. It was early so getting a bar seat was not a problem. If you want a table especially on weekends, make a reservation. We knew this and didn't want more than what we did so no issues. Decor is clean and modern, lighting perfect, service and food on point. We had the Basil Spritz and Gift of the Gods (tequila drink) spritz was as you would imagine but the Gods drink was straight up in a silver chalice. It was too syrupy sweet for this girl but add club soda and ice, you have yourself a tasty cocktail. Food wise we ordered the burrata, holy cow look out Italy there's a new cow in town. All around good experience.

Absolutely mind blowing food. We went all out and did the taster menu with wine pairing. It's the fanciest meal we've ever had and it absolutely floored us. The staff were brilliant and knowledgeable, the pairings were perfect. Highly recommended.

Reservations recommended. Beautiful decor. Beautiful food. We took three appetizers and dessert. All delicious and amazing. Wonderful combinations. Scallops. Rosemary beef. Lobster bisque. Brownie. Licorice ice cream. All fresh. Wonderful non alcoholic drink options.

Really nice place! We had super tasty lunch, especially tacos and fish of the day were great (also during lunch fish I’d the day comes with the soup of the day). Each plate was so nicely served and tastes were unique. Our recommendation :)

This restaurant is clearly outstanding, boasting modern Icelandic cuisine. The festive Christmas decorations added a warm, inviting touch to the already impressive ambiance. The bar area was a highlight, with an good selection of drinks. The food was a delightful journey, with each dish demonstrating culinary expertise. However, given the restaurant's high acclaim and price point, our expectations were sky-high. While the overall experience was undoubtedly excellent, it aligned with rather than surpassed our expectations. This was especially noticeable in the vegetarian options and the desserts – pleasant and well-prepared, but not quite mesmerizing. Overall, the visit was very enjoyable, but it fell just short of the extraordinary culinary experience we had anticipated.

Reindeer fillet is definitely recommended. It's a lifetime experience that is served with potato, oyster mushrooms, blueberries, and roasted hazelnuts. Just as yummy as you can expect and maybe way more! Also, I tried the white chocolate and skyr, which is just a bite of deliciousness!

Made reservations for my wife’s 40th birthday. The chefs tasting menu did not disappoint! 5 courses of some of the best and most fresh food in Iceland.

This amazing restaurant is just a couple minutes walk from the church. Upon arrival are friendly and welcoming staff, a warm and relaxed atmosphere and delicious food. The chefs here really know what they are doing. If your in the city- don’t miss out. Highly recommend the reindeer steak!

The fish of the day was a complete disappointment. You really need to stop adding bucket of this weird tahini sauce and ruining your fish with it. Drinks were really good and decent service. But not coming back for food for sure.

Exceptional. It is a great good experience, Icelandic cuisine and international. The dishes are sophisticated, with a flavor explosion. I had lobster soup that was prepared on the table. And the best fish I had so far. Better than seabass, cod, or halibut (not sure of the name, it was the catch of the day, and she mentioned the local name). The place is beautiful, and the drinks menu is very interesting. Highly recommend for a dinner.

Great restaurant, highly recommend and easy to find. Food was excellent, with a slight twist on traditional dishes. Recommend the tacos. But everything was really good, we ordered multiple small plates, which all arrived at once. Ask for things to be staggered if you dont want 5 fishes at the same time. Try and sit upstairs if possible, slight better atmosphere.

What else can I say except perfect and mind blowing. Compliments to the chef and the team, they created a taste explosion that deserves a Michelin. Thank you for this perfect new years eve dinner.

Managed to get seated right away without reservations. My friend and I both got the Christmas fixed menu and it took about two hours for everything to be served (it was a 4-5 item tasting menu). Got to try many new kinds of food, such as reindeer. It was extremely good, the staff were very friendly and attentive, and bathrooms were very clean! Overall a wonderful experience to commemorate my first trip to Europe :)

Kol had delicious flavors so please do not be deterred by my lower star rating. I think that since I am at the end of my trip, I might be jaded since I have enjoyed various other places around the country and their simplistic recipes that highlight the wonderful tastes of lamb, root vegetables, and fish. Kol, while very tasty, became slightly over complicated with all the flavor profiles covering the real stars of the plates. Was the lamb good? yes. Was it the best lamb I've had in Iceland? not even close. The cocktails here are rather delicious. I would recommend also trying the Kol Lemonade (non-alcoholic) as it was very refreshing.

This place was lovely. Went with a mate. The risotto was really well done, the lamb was perfectly cooked. The only critique is the dessert portion. We ordered the “tiramisu waffle” which was delicious, but it was 1/4 of a waffle at best, you could see the cut line, so it gave the feeling of, “we didn’t get our full dessert” would have been 5/5 otherwise.
