This
restaurant
discriminates.
We
strolled
downtown
through
this
fishing
community,
well
before
a
dinner
rush,
spotted
this
quaint
little
eatery,
saw
half
the
tables
full,
and
stepped
in
to
see
the
menu.
When
we
politely
asked
if
we
needed
to
be
seated
or
could
choose
our
own
table,
and
they
heard
our
American
accents,
the
young
ladies
looked
at
each
other,
smiled,
and
said
(in
very
clear
English
-
there
was
no
miscommunication)
that
they
had
a
quota
of
how
many
people
they
could
serve
in
the
restaurant,
due
to
their
limited
staff.
I
was
incredulous
when
they
suggested
we
would
be
better
off
ordering
a
pizza
from
a
restaurant
"up
the
hill."
We
were
tired
and
hungry
from
hiking
and
just
ordered
their
house
salad
and
pizza
to
go,
as
seafood
dishes
are
most
likely
not
going
to
be
packed
well
and
half
the
fun
is
the
ambiance.
When
we
returned
for
our
food,
every
table
in
the
restaurant
was
filled,
some
with
infants
and
young
children.
When
we
got
back
to
our
hotel
room
(never
a
place
you
want
to
"dine"
on
vacation),
we
saw
they
had
not
included
utensils,
so
I
needed
to
walk
back
to
the
restaurant
for
them
and
return
them
when
we
were
through.
This
was
the
only
time
I
felt
this
dual
treatment
while
we
were
in
Iceland,
but
it
was
disappointing.
We
were
showered,
nicely
dressed,
teeth
flossed,
money
in
hand,
but
our
accents
made
it
impossible
for
us
to
be
seated
and
served.
They
should
just
post
a
sign
that
says,
"We
do
not
like
Americans,
go
somewhere
else"
and
it
would
have
saved
us
the
time.
What
cracked
me
up
was
that
the
cliche
signs
on
the
walls
seemed
to
reflect
our
position
and
theirs.
