A beautiful and peaceful pond/lake in the city center that is relaxing and complements the charming city of Reykjavik. I am sure it is much more pretty in summer.

It is a small/medium lake in central Reykjavík. Feeding the birds on the lake shores is a so popular pastime that it has been referred to as "the biggest bread soup in the world". The lake was the setting for scenes in the 2010 film Gauragangur and in the 2014 film Life in a Fishbowl.

This lane was 95% frozen with 80 or so people skating or waking on ice. Only place not frozen - where the ducks & geese kept the water warm. Nice weather for skating!!!

A nice pond. I visited in the summer. The place is quiet and offers silence in the middle of the city. It is very clear that the Reykjavik City makes an effort keeping the place clean and the plants watered. It is very impressing.

Excellent birding spot, and right in the downtown area. Restaurants nearby, and within walking distance to other attractions.

Visit during December with a tour guide and it was lovely, there were many birds to watch and they enjoy the shore line because the local council has built in pipes that disburse warm water (to melt the ice during winter) so the birds can swim and feed. I'd recommend spend a few minutes here and enjoy the scenery (extra points if you get a warm drink to enjoy while you're at it)

This lake is a very peaceful respite and place to walk when you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist crowds, which aren’t really that bad. It’s very quiet and calm. There are swans and mallards and seagulls and beautiful flowers. We walked here several days during our week stay in the capital. They are also geocaches around the lake so it’s great fun.

It's a beautiful small lake in the middle of Reykjavik. Lots of ducks, swans and water birds around. It's peaceful, you can just sit at the lake shore staring at the city skyline all day!

Very relaxing part of the city because the lake is surrounded by nice gardens with lots of benches where to take a sit.

Visit was in December 2019 just before Christmas. Only been to one location and had enough beautiful landscape scenes just from one spot. Next time will try to explore around it.

So nice and so cold here, walking distance going to the bus stop, church and hospital, make sure to bring food for the swans and ducks
