This is without a doubt the best restaurant in Hafnarfjörður! The main courses on the menu only consist of a vegan, a meat and a fish option which means they know how to make these courses to perfection! Huge, huge compliments to the staff and the chef. Go there if you are nearby!

My girlfriend and I spent 9 days travelling Iceland and this was our last stop - and we saved the best for last. We were absolutely blown away. The menu is sophisticated but they pair the flavours perfectly in each dish. My girlfriend had the fish of the day (cod) in a cream sauce with white cabbage, celery root and red onions. I had the 3 course meal with ox cheek and rump as the main. Unbelievable - there is no other way to describe it. We will never forget this meal

Good local restaurant, not touristic, reasonable prices. Their choice of main courses was tempting, yet we were not that hungry and thetefore stayed with the chicken salad, which was excellent.

The food was great! Excellent fish of the day and savoury waffle. Service is great and very friendly. Ambience and environment lovely definitely recommend anyone to visit.

Excellent fish in Iceland is expected, but Von Mathus elevates fish and the dining experience to a higher level. Daily specials are cooked perfectly and paired with unique fresh vegetable and sauce combinations. Mushroom soup with seeds. Pan seared Ocean Perch with barley, marinated carrots, pickled onions, and burre blanc. Ling with sweds, apples, and burre blanc. The melody of flavors are orgasmic. Attentive & unpretentious staff, accessible chef, chic decor and wonderful atmosphere. Perfect home run.

It was a little pricey for us but the food was excellent. Super friendly staff. Great atmosphere and kid friendly. Kids portion is pretty big as is the adult plates. I would love to have enough time to try all menu options.

We are French so we can be picky about food and this restaurant is perfect! They put a lot of attention to the freshness of the ingredients, the quality and cleanliness of the restaurant which is really modern. A perfect place to eat and drink!

Best meal in town. Fresh fish, indredients chosen with experience and taste. Nice music, nice service, nice décoration. (Personally I found it far more yummy than the food served at blue lagoon restaurant). A must try in Iceland !

Just had a fabulous meal at Von, simple, fresh ingredients transformed into the most delicious dishes- the Cod with mash, cabbage and apple was sublime. The three of us all agreed it was the best meal we’ve had for a long time. Service was excellent, and it was great to watch the clearly talented chefs create with anticipation.

Probably the best restaurant in and around Reykjavik. A small but regularly changing menu. Best fish and vegetables. Been going there for a few years. Reasonable prices too. Highly recommendable.

Great food and decor! We tried reindeer parfait and mushroom soup and they were both tasty. Not to mention the bread and salted butter at the beginning! Everything was made even better by the nice and cosy atmosphere. Lovely place for a stop to warm up and have some great food!
