Had the falafel wrap and soup of the day (butternut squash). Everything was so fresh, tasty and delicious! Really nice people working there as well. Highly recommend!!

Whosoever goes there with Google maps help , this restaurant has no sign or hoarding, but it’s next to Kronan, we were right there but kept going back n forth to trace it . Once found , its a cute little restaurant, very artistically done and very clean , it’s operated by a group of friends all vegan . We ordered the spicy falafel wraps, it didn’t taste traditional but was yummy enough and none of us could finish the other half . It was so filling but came handy for later day . Maria was very pleasant to talk to …. Wish them all the best.

GOD the falafel is SO GOOD 🤤 this is the best falafel I've ever had. Its so crispy, and the pita is so flavorful, the salad is crunchy and fresh and the hummus tastes just like homemade. 12/10 would go back any day.

I’m not a vegetarian/ vegan but I really appreciate them making delicious food! I had a seasonal pita wrap with something like a tomato cake, olive, and greens. It was great.. I usually don’t eat whole olives but when you bite into this wrap, them tasted good as a part of it. (And used a lot!) ☕️Their cappuccino can be one of the top 3 in Reykjavik seriously. I had almost 10 cups so far.. creamy enough!

Chickpea is one of my favorite restaurants in Reykjavik! The guys in the shop are very chill, friendly, and happy to answer any questions you may have. The portion sizes of the main wraps, which come in either in flatbread or pita, are quite large (which is why I recommend the flatbread so it all stays together)! The price is unbelievably affordable for Icelandic prices. Finally, the taste of each item is rich, fresh, and feels healthy! Definitely stop in while you’re in town for some good mood food at a steal of a price.

This is a small vegetarian restaurant, and although I'm not a vegetarian, I still found food that I liked. The staff here are so friendly.

My wife and I wanted to come here for a healthy meal. I had the Spicy Falafel and she had the traditional Falafel. Both were fantastic with great flavor and great texture. Highly recommend.

I’ll start by saying I am not a fan of vegan food. I’m very cynical when it comes to trying it. My wife loves it so she wanted to go. It was incredible! Amazing textures and seasonings. All the ingredients felt so fresh and the staff was so nice!

If you are looking for amazing food, quick service and a fun vibe, you should definitely check this place out. It’s the best falafel I’ve ever had. It’s a vegetarian restaurant - but if you eat meat, don’t worry, the food will still hit the spot.

Great place for healthy, vegetarian lunch/dinner in Reykjavik! Super friendly staff, very helpful. And the food’s just great! Love their fallafels and trying new “dish of the week” every time when i’m there!

I went on vacation to several European countries a few months ago, and I am STILL thinking about Chickpea's delicious falafel. These were some of the best falafel I've ever had, and I haven't found anything this good in the States so far. Hopefully I can go to Iceland again someday. 5/5!

Amazing food! Very small menu which means food does not take long and the give the food all the attention it deserves. There is no clear signs outside so keep a lookout for the shop. It seems to be more of a locals lunch spot. The paprika soup was unique and delicious! The falafel wraps were quite filling. Unfortunately there are no proper tables to sit at, only high, shared, cafeteria like seating. There is also no washroom. I would highly recommend getting a meal here.

Excellent falafel! They have weekly new variants, which I tried. Full of flavours and large portion size. Not plenty of space to sit, but also not crowded when I went there at 6pm. All of the falafels are vegan.

I bought the beetroot falafel version in a flatbread to take with me on my flight and I couldn’t have made a better choice! The portion was extremely generous and filling, the flavour combination was divine and I would literally go back to Reykjavik to have another one of those!

Update: amended rating to 4 star’s following response from the owner Great food in a location just away from the main busy shopping road ( about 50 meters back) friendly staff. Menu completely in Icelandic .. but then again it is in Iceland after all! * English menu available if you don’t see them ask * The only reasons it’s not 5 stars is the limited seating and the big one .. no toilets

I had the spicy falafel just before going on a whale watching tour and it was the perfect food! Really tasty and the kimchi was great in it as well as the falafel! Got the vegan option as well so if you‘re looking for a tasty small place with nice staff I can fully recommend going here!

If you’re looking for a completely satisfying and hearty meal in a laid back restaurant, check out Chickpea. The food is well-balanced— the textures and the flavors all merge extremely well together to create a delicious, balanced bite. We ended up going back to this restaurant during our trip because it was just that good. It may be a bit difficult to find if you’re not familiar with the area and/or if you’re using Google Maps. It’s right next to the Kronan grocery store. Don’t skip out on going here if you can’t find it. Just walk around the side of the building. Highly recommend!

I don’t post reviews but this place made me do it. We are vegetarians and finding delicious vegetarian food in Iceland is a struggle and Chickpea is a rare vegan restaurant we found on Google. The menu is small but all the offerings are delicious, I loved that they made pita in front of us and it was a sourdough pita. So yumm.. the wrap, coffee and hot chocolate were all on point. Owners were very patient and warm and welcomed us with a smile. The wrap is filling and kept us full for the entire day. If you are in downtown Reykjavik want a good vegetarian meal please consider going here. Please know that the place is small and doesn’t have dining tables but they have bar stools if you want to sit and eat there. There are no restrooms which isn’t a big deal for me. Overall I would recommend this place to everyone.

Tasty, quick food and high quality coffee. Really kick-started my day! I had a vegan seitan pitta and oat flat white. As others have mentioned, great place for vegans as all options seem to be adaptable to be plant based.

Excellent food! I had the spicy falafel wrap and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The Apple mint kombucha was also spot on! I would highly recommend.

Top 3 places in Reykjavík for lunch. Tried the spicy falafel and it was super good, fresh, and spicy level was perfect!
