Nice store but some glaring issues, the first of which being the prices, there were many records I was planing on buying but immediately put down upon viewing the prices, the highest vinyl prices in Reykjavík I’ve seen by far. While sometimes there would be an occasional somewhat alright deal the majority of the records there are overpriced, some to such an extent it’s laughable, if you want a Sigur Ros Takk vinyl that’ll set you back around 10.000 Krona. My other, smaller, issue with the store is the fact that many genres such as hip-hop and jazz are only accessible by going down a quite steep spiral staircase and I can imagine it causing issues if you are trying to carry up a lot of vinyl you are purchasing. Overall the atmosphere was nice and welcoming and everyone was friendly just the prices lead to me not ending up purchasing any records.

Very nice vinyl shop and cafe. We expend long time talking to the owner about Iceland and its "underground" culture. The location is superb, the collection of vinyls also and the ambient is relaxing and confortable.

Great little record store in Reykjavik, comfortable chairs so you can listen to stuff, and an extra level down in the basement. We were visiting from Canada as part of Iceland Airwaves and saw Groa perform live there. Very cool experience to see the .band up close with so many other enthusiastic people, absolutely amazing atmosphere!

Really nice vinyl shop and bar, they have artisan beer. The service was really clean as well.

Cool spot. We showed up at 21:00 and there was a super fun bar scene going upstairs with a local DJ spinning a very fun eclectic music set. Beer was great and staff was friendly. Most the records were downstairs. It’s a pretty small selection but well curated. New vinyl is well organized. Used is a bit cluttered and a bit hard to navigate. Fair prices. No listening station I could find but there might be one up near the bar. Didn’t leave with any records as new repress vinyl isn’t my thing.

Great location with friendly staff. I was greeted and offered coffee upon simply walking in the door. The basement has a very unique vibe (see pictures) and was where I spent a good chunk of my time here as I sampled some records and enjoyed the atmosphere. If you are wanting to see classic Icelandic albums or are looking for popular international items this is the place to do it.

My wife and I first visited here at the start of our honeymoon and were happy to discover upon entering that Hekla was setting up for a performance. We were very happy to be able to grab a few drinks, peruse some of the records available and sit and watch this artist play. If we could live in this town, we'd frequent this spot often.

I found a paint of Sigur Ros album cover on the window. That's why I traveled Iceland from so far away Japan. I took a cup of chai that the nice guy put in. This record shop is so lovely place filled with music lovers. Takk.

A great little record shop with coffee and pints. The basement is very chilled, with sofas and a projector (we sat down to watch a football World Cup match with a pint of Peroni whilst here). A very nice place.

A dream for any friend of western classical music on vinyl. Such a broad assortment of used records at reasonable prices. Simply great.

Best place in the world to buy Icelandic music of all genres, or just to enjoy a beer and listen. The staff are very knowledgeable, and the selection extends way beyond only Icelandic artists.

Really nice record store. It’s compact but stylish. They have a nice selection (including a small section with Icelandic indie bands; it’s nice they support their own artists). They’ve got a separate section for Sigur Ros and Bjork records 😅.

Great collection of vinyl and CD. Has the reputation it has for a reason! Got a nice shirt from here too. Must check out if you’re in Reykjavík.

I had an amazing experience at 12 Tónar. I wanted records by Icelandic musicians and found a dedicated section in the basement. The staff assisted me by locating albums based on my tastes and I was able to listen to them on CD before making my purchase. I bought all but one of the albums. I can't thank them enough for introducing me to the Icelandic metal group "Sólstafir."
