I did a 10 day Vipassana course here in March 2019. This was a life changing experience for me. I can go on an on about the Vipassana course which is free for all but I will stick to talking about the infrastructure and facilities here. The place is located in the serene hills of Sahyadris and hence the area is very peaceful and calm. The cleanliness of this area is top notch. The food quality is really good and the water supply, cleanliness of the toilets all are very well managed. This is a great place to spend some peaceful time and have a life changing experience.

Good peaceful place..it's within Myanmar gate..they adhere to the timings very strictly.. The guards are very rude and they literally shoo you away as the timings to close are up..there is some garden as well but didn't have enough time to visit it completely

It's a life changing experience. Everyone should take a 10 day course here. Plus it's absolutely free. No charges or fees are charged from the students wishing to learn Vipassana.

A experience which can change your life, give you the meaning of your life. It can't be explained you must experience it for yourself. Appy online to get a seat for a Vipassana course on VIA.com. If you are going in rainy season make sure to always carry your umbrella. The weather is extremely beautiful and pure. If get a chance don't miss it.

Did here my 3rd course. The center is beautiful, seeing the pagoda and goenka's residence. But I would not recommend for foreign people to do their first course here, because the facilities are not the best (e.g. shower from a bucket)

Dhamma Giri, meaing 'Hill of Dhamma' is one of the world's largest Vipassana meditation centres. It is co-located with the Vipassana Research Institute at Igatpuri in Maharastra, approximately three hours drive from Mumbai. The center offered its first course in 1976.  Today tens of thousands of students study here every year.  The centre's pagoda has over 400 cells for individual meditation.

Dhamma Giri Vipassana International Academy truly offers a transformative and serene experience. The nature surrounded academy provides a peaceful and the best atmosphere for introspection and meditation. The "Assistant Teachers" and well structured courses, with the help of "Dhamma-Sevak" offer help on this journey of self discovery. Truly a life changing and enriching retreat. Highly recommend for those who seek inner-peace and mindfullness. Pro tip: Be serious and disciplined throughout for your own utmost benefit...

Been here for a 10 day Course in October 2022, The facility is awesome and comfortable in every way. It is for sure the best vipassana center in India in terms of the facilities. Accommodation : It was my first course but I was given a separate room with attached toilet and there will be hot water facility for around an hour or two in the morning . Meditation Cells: For old Students the pagodas / meditation cells will be allotted on Day 1, where are for new students we were allotted pagodas on Day 4. Property : The property is very close to nature and have some great views and very peaceful to walk during the breaks. There is also the residence of S.N. Goenka ji / Guruji and on the last day we have a short tour to the main Pagoda and can also see the meditation cell of Guruji. The meditation halls are very big and can accommodate around 160-180 students . A great location to begin my Vipassana experience , The Dhamma Sevaks are very friendly and will assist you to their best.

The very first Vipassana centre which brought the technique of Vipassana meditation by concentrating in your breath (in the present) back to India and further to the west. This is located pretty close to Mumbai Pune and Nashik, situated in the valley near Fog city Igatpuri, this location boasts of scenic views and staying here for the meditation course indeed brings in the much needed peace clarity and calmness in your thoughts and life at large. One can always come down for a quick visit, And one can register for a 10day course and enjoy the luxury of living here. The course is free of cost (you can always donate per your wish at the end of course though). The food and amenities are basic and every requirements is being taken care of.. There are multiple levels of course one can enroll and do and further can also volunteer for service. I went for a 10 day course and my experience was amazing.. I would suggest everyone should register and do the course at least once, it will benefit you.

This is one of the main highlights of the city and offers meditation courses to all the people across the globe. If one intends to learn guided meditation as well as have a clean a surreal experience then this is the place to be. As it is located away from the noisy cities this particular location is very close to the nature and helps in relaxing and meditating in peace.

Immersive experience at Dhammagiri meditation centre , Igatpuri that can't be experienced in words. If you give in to what the instructors ask for and if u comply to discipline, one gets the best. Initially the two days of newly grueling meditation sessions are bit different and seem difficult but eventually body picks it up. Work is done on physical as well as mental (प्रवचन)level This place is an experience. Its in isolation hence gives great vibes.

Awesome place to learn meditation. People coming here for Vipashana meditation course will be pleased with the peaceful, clean, disciplined atmosphere. Everything is in a good place. People working here are very humble and extremely co-operative. They take care of you as if you are their family member. I am grateful for all the things I have experienced here.

This best place for nature lover. I visited this place for 10 days course. They have nice arrangements in terms of stay, you can reach this place by local train from Mumbai to Kasara and then take bus from Kasara to igatpuri. Other options to reach the place is take express train from Kalyan to igatpuri station and from station take auto to the centre

Rooms are shared between 2 or more people. There is no option. Experience depends on the other people sharing with you. This time, my roommate was sick and snoring loudly the whole night. It was the worst experience. I would not recommend anyone to take the risk. Better to check in advance if there is a single separate room or shared room and then decide to go or not The organising old ladies are not understanding nor cooperative. They don't care for your problem. I haven't faced this problem in my earlier visits. But this time I did. I would rate it as 0 star ⭐ if I could. Go at our own risk. Better to take all precautions

It also has a nearby residential campus of old meditators called Sayagi U Ba Khin nagar, honouring Goenkaji's teacher U Ba Khin. Vipassana meditation 10 day course - A life changing experience. (Translated by Google) Vipassana means to know the thing as it really is. It is the practice of self-purification by going through the depths of the inner self. Bead starts with the inspection of your natural breath for concentration. The sharp reflex observes one's own body and the changing nature of the mind and experiences global truths such as impermanence, sorrow and egoism. This direct experience of the true experience is a process of purity. The complete path (Dhamma) is a global solution to global problems And it has nothing to do with any organized religion or sect. Therefore, it can be practiced freely at any time by anyone, irrespective of caste, lineage or religion, and will prove equally beneficial for all.
