A great day trip from Osaka. Takes a bit of effort to change trains and stations but was definitely worth it. I recommend to take an early trip there around 7am so it doesn’t get too hot when you reach the peak. The park itself was beautiful and well maintained!

Excellent trail for a relaxing easy stroll through the forest to a waterfall. It's a paved path and has options to go hiking off a paved path as well. Good for stroller and wheelchairs too. Free! Bring yen for goodies and snacks. Has food stalls, shopping and cafes alone the path. Has toilets on site. Signs in English and Japanese.

Lovely Falls Trail, park overall very pretty even though I visited during the summer. I travelled more than an hour to get there, wasn't a hint of rain near my hotel, but the air in Minoh Park was very heavy with moisture. I would advise wearing clothes you wouldn't mind getting a few drops of rain on. It wasn't too hot once on the trail. It took about 15 minutes of walking to get to the start of the trail, and from there, Falls Trail took an hour to complete one way (to the waterfall, including stops for photos). If you're into exploring nature, and are visiting Osaka, I would absolutely recommend!

Beautiful park away from the city. I came here in January and still saw some fantastic views. I was amazed how little tourism was there. I practically had the whole waterfall to myself. This seems like a hidden gem that more people should see! It is a decent walk from the station but well worth the effort. The path leading to the waterfall can be a little steep at times but totally manageable. I even saw some wild deer in my travels to the waterfall. I highly recommend you making time to see this place ❤️

(Translated by Google) There are almost no maple leaves scattered around my feet, You can still enjoy the autumn leaves. From Minoo Station to Minoo Otaki Take a photo and relax for an hour. Many people came, but I don't feel so dense along the way. Social distance is difficult in front of Otaki, Everyone can take a quick shot and give it to another person The bench in front of the waterfall sits openly, The area around the bench is also crowded, so I didn't feel like eating or drinking or staying long. The photos of Otaki have been uploaded, so Here is a photo of the rainbow over the waterfall. If you go up a little stairs on the way I found a small cute statue of Curious. If you are interested, the landmark is the red bridge. So beautiful, will definitely go back again in another season. Short easy hike with waterfall at the end and rest stops along the way. They sell food near the water fall. Lots of small waterfalls. Spent 2+ hours walking and chilling there.

Minoo falls is very beautiful, peaceful, and picturesque. There is a parking lot on the mountain from which you can walk ~10-15 minutes down to the waterfall or you can hike ~2km from the bottom which is a very easy, beautiful hike. Plenty of restrooms along the way and restaurants, food stands, shops. You may see a couple cute cats running around! Don't forget to pick up Minoo beer! Brewed locally! There was a shop at the bottom of one of the hiking trails, but you can find it many places here.

A great place to escape the concrete jungle and immerse yourself into nature! Such a wonderful place if you’re tired of city life. It is best to visit in autumn, but the view is absolutely breathtaking even in summer.

Minoo Park (箕面公園, Minō Kōen, also spelled Mino or Minoh) is a forested valley on the outskirts of Osaka, just north of the urban sprawl. During the fall, it is one of the best places in the Kansai Region to see the autumn colors in a natural setting, as opposed to the attractive fall foliage found at temples and gardens. The colors are usually best in the second half of November. Similar to Tokyo's Mount Takao, Minoo Park is the closest spot to the busy metropolis of Osaka to find a spacious natural recreation area. The park can be reached in less than 30 minutes from the downtown Umeda area. Another similarity, Takao and Minoo were both given quasi-national park status in 1967 to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the Meiji Period (1867-1912). Among the few temple buildings along the hiking trail, Ryuanji Temple is the most impressive. Located at about the midpoint between the train station and the waterfall, the temple is part of the Shugendo mountain worship religious sect and has a number of interesting buildings. During the fall season the shops alongside the path sell an interesting snack called momiji tempura: maple leaves deep fried in batter. The park also has a small insectarium and more extensive hiking trails, some of which lead to observation points and into the hills beyond the waterfall.

A must see if you want to see some nature near Osaka. If planned right, it can be perfectly timed with visiting the CUPNOODLES museum! After a three hour hike, we got to see Minoh Falls and hiked further up the mountain to see the sunset. A stunning sight.

Beautiful walk from the falls down to the station. There is also a parking area up above the falls that you can walk down to the falls from. 1,000 yen for 5 hours. Lots of vending machines, places to stop, temples, toilets along the way to the station. It was about a 3 km walk from the falls to the station while wandering around and exploring along the way. Lovely to feel the fresh air and hearing the water bubbling and the birds singing, great for the soul.

The thirty-minute train ride from Namba station was totally worth it for the rejuvenating walk in nature. It was just a short 2-3km trek up to the waterfall with scenic views along the way. The path was easy to walk and there were small stalls along the way you can get some food as well. We packed some bentos to have on the way, and many seemed to have the same idea. The plentiful benches make good picnic spots! However, as with most places in japan, be prepared to carry your trash back with you for disposal.

If you're feeling sick of the city definitely you have to go Minoo park to refresh with the nature. It's better if you bring your own homemade food to enjoy it somewhere in the woods of Infront of the waterfall. Don't miss the momiji temperura and the craftbeer so delicious at the end of the hiking. There's also a beautiful book shop, the second floor is just dedicate to children books (English and Japanese).

Beautiful spot. If you’re planning to go for autumn leaves. Late October early November looks like it will be a good time to go!(2018) The track was easy to navigate and had handrails generally along the whole track. I’ve seen a few reviews say there are a lot of stairs. I didn’t think so. There are some of course, but very manageable. Saw signs to watch out for monkeys and be cautious of them, but no monkeys at all. We went on a public holiday, was a bit busy, but was good to see people out and enjoying nature with their families and friends! If you get a chance to go, do it! You won’t be disappointed. A packed lunch might be a good idea if you don’t want to pay too much for average food. If you want to eat at a restaurant riverside, it seems you need to make a booking at least one day in advance, so don’t rely on that. There are some walk in restaurants and stalls, but nothing too amazing.

Minoh Park in Osaka is a serene escape from the city's hustle and bustle, offering a picturesque natural retreat. The park's main attraction, the stunning Minoh Waterfall, is a sight to behold, especially during the vibrant autumn foliage season. The hiking trails are well-maintained and provide a refreshing trek through lush forests, making it a perfect getaway for nature lovers and hikers

The trail to Minoh no Taki (waterfall) is definitely one of the best weekend relaxing places Osaka can offer. You will not only enjoy the one hour walk besides all the way to the waterfall but also you will feel the sound, views and scent from the trees, birds, and the river. All paved, easy to walk. Also many small old restaurants, public chairs restrooms along the way.

Relaxing river walk with local small shops selling trinkets and the local specialty of fried maple leaf. The river walk has multiple waterfalls and paths with the most impressive at the end of the walk. The standard path is a low gradient walk to the falls.

A lovely walk to the waterfall. It was cold and raining a bit when I went but it was still worth it. There’s a dozen places that sell the tempura maple leaves on the street leading up to the walk from the train station so don’t fall for the trap of just buying from the first one - they all have their own style.

On December 12th the autumn leaves were still present though subdued. Strolling here on a weekday instead of the weekend sees a moderate number of visitors but not crowded at all. Some shops were closed but most at the start of the trail and at the falls were open. No monkey sighted including in the picnic area. Plenty of restrooms along the way. Very easy trail.

Beautiful walk. Take the train to Minoo Station, and there is signage from there. Approximately 2.5kms to the Falls. It's steep, so takes about 45-50 mins. Went on a Monday, and not much was open along the trail. But the path was lovely and quiet. Lots of toilets and drink vending machines.

Date of visit: 2023/11/25 Really nice hike, spent 2-3 hours hiking this area. The end point for most is the waterfall, which is beautiful with fall colours. The path is well marked and most of the trail is on road-y surfaces (you can get a guide pamphlet at the start, near the metro station). There are many shops selling snacks and meals on the way as well. It can get a little crowded, but it's a good day trip option out of Osaka, as the metro's only 30min away from Osaka station.

  • 5/5 Wilson Y. 4 years ago on Google
Nice place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The track to the falls is paved so no need for hiking footwear. There are also toilets and other facilities dotted across the track. The walk to and from the falls back to the station is around 6kms. The station at the base has a number of restaurants etc. Entry is free.

Great experience! One can choose more difficult routes or the main road if one just wants to see the waterfall. Highly recommend also visiting the insect museum with the butterfly garden! If you're in for some exercise, take a right turn at the shrine and climb the stairs to the view point (about 300m altitude).

(Translated by Google) It's getting hot, but there are lots of places where there is plenty of shade and it feels cool. There are many souvenir shops from the station to Minoh Onsen. Along the way, there is also a trail that climbs the mountain in addition to the waterfall trail. (It doesn't make any sense to go around to return to the waterfall, but it's perfect for refreshing if you're coming multiple times.) A stamp rally is held every Saturday near the insect museum. You can get 2 stamps per person by transmitting the keyword near the waterfall, and you can get 30 can batches depicting Yuzuru-kun and Japanese loose chara. New ones are produced regularly. There are some off-limits areas up to Takido due to the effects of past typhoons, but there are many famous places. There are some plain things, so you should be able to discover fresh things even if you try multiple times. The waterfall near the waterfall is a mist shower of nature, sometimes with fine water spray. Minoo Park is indeed one of the best spots to visit during maple season. The main attraction is the Minoo Falls at the end of the trails, about 1-hour walk from the Minoo Station. It takes about 35 minutes from Osaka/Umeda Station to Minoo Station via Hankyu Railway, making it the most easily accessible maple-appreciation spot around the Osaka area. The trail starts from the station and all the way up to the falls with a flat road. On the way, there are multiple attractions for you to stop by, including insect museum, the statue of Noguchi Hideyo, Ryuanji Temple, Rock blocking parts of the way, and some restaurants along the river. There are multiple restrooms along the way so there is no need to worry about it. Minoo Falls is magnificent and beautiful, and there are benches and resting areas there for you to appreciate both the maples and falls at the same time, tasting some Japanese snacks like grilled fish or fried chicken. Be sure to try some deep-fried maple leaves on your way back. It's sweet, crunchy, and quite enjoyable. There is one complimentary foot spa for you to relax for a while before getting on the train back to Osaka.

Somewhat scenic walk with a pretty waterfall at the end. We went on a really hot day. By the time we got there, we didn't really feel it was worth the walk in the heat.

There is an insect museum and Hideyo Noguchi statue on the way to the waterfall, and you can walk a total of 3 km from the station to the waterfall, but you can enjoy it. However, the road was closed on the way, and it was hard to get to the waterfall.

This is a hiking park. You need to walk around 5 km to reach the beautiful minoo waterfall. The main trail is wide enough, and in the sides there are food stalls selling Japanese traditional foods such as Oden, Udon, Ramen and my favorite is momiji-leaves deep fried. The momiji leave is the Japanese version of maple leaves. The scenery is at its peak at autumn with the trail is covered with orange and red momiji trees. A lot of old people come here so don't worry if the trail path is hard. If they can do it, then you should be able to do it also. Actually if you take different trail paths, you may end up find other interesting places along the line. But unless you are a professional hikers, I suggest you not to do it. The paths (other than thr main path) are narrow and steep. The waterfall at the end of the hiking is not that magnificent but the experience to get there is. I saw some old temples, beautiful trees, interesting river stream, etc along the line. It relaxed your nerves and make you calm. Totally would come here if possible.

Heavenly! The park is enveloped with green splendor and a cute small creek that runs through it. The insect museum is small and delightful for any insect enthusiast. The waterfall was a thing of beauty and had plenty of sitting areas to enjoy the calming view. There were some vendors throughout the hike which just added to the Japanase aesthetic. This was such a charming place to hike and I plan to explore more it next time.

Beautiful view during autumn. About 90 mins hike from the subway station to the water fall inclusive stop by for photo taking. Hiking back will be faster as you will stop less for photo. There are toilets along the way. There are also stalls selling snacks at the water fall area. Many locals go there for picnic.

Had a great time walking through the park on the way to waterfall. The incline was gradual and nice easy pace for us since we were travelling with a young child. There are a few different attractions and sites dotted throughout the park including a small bug museum which was very interesting to my toddler. As well, a few stores and snack shops at the lower level. Be sure to purchase some of the momiji (maple leaf tempura) and eat it on the walk up. It tastes like a lightly sweet crunchy sweet sesame cookie.

Recommended spot for trekking with friends or family. The final destination might be the Minoh falls, around 2.4 km from the station, but you will not find it hard since the scenery and surroundings are awesome. It is better for you to bring some snacks and water just in case. Though there are various street snack stalls along the road.

The best trailer and/or hiking park. The best part we were able to take a classic tram to the station and walk a short distance to the entrance. Along the way there many small vendors and like a farmer market. Many fresh fruits and essential house items. We stop by a cozy restaurant and ate a small meal before heading into the park. I think, around 11am weekdays and people already there snapping photos of the colorful maple leaves trees. And we continued to walk and little hiking here and there.

Easy stroll and serene scenic calm walk at a nice slow pace to the sounds of gentle flowing streams and chirping birds. Nice get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Can be a romantic experience for couples too. Minoh is a Small town where you can’t possibly get lost. It has a visitor Center near the train station. You can ask them for food recommendations. I recommend the tonkatsu restaurant which is around 10 mins walk away. There wasn’t much to eat along the way. The maple leave snack was novel but nothing special. We stopped by a restaurant mid way to have a sandwich and coffee for breakfast. Ambience was nice with a olden European feel and they used nice silverware but we were the only ones there in a huge restaurant. Sandwich was better than i expected. At the falls area, we bought an ice cream. We were very hungry by the end of the walk. Just in time for lunch.

Japan really has everything a traveler is looking for. This is Minoh Falls in Minoh Park. A short train ride away from Osaka. If you're looking for a nature trek away from the bustling Dotonbori and Namba, Minoo is the nearest place instead of taking a trip to Nara or Kyoto. Minoo Park is great during Autumn, as they sell local delights made out of Maple leaves - Maple ice cream, okonomiyaki, and Maple beer!

Hike to waterfall took about an hour at a comfortable pace. A relaxing walk with great natural scenery during autumn season, ending with a great waterfall.

It is a short trip (~ 1.5 hrs) away from downtown Osaka that provides a serene escape from the bustle of the city. It is accessible by public transportation with a train station right at the base. The pathways are well-maintained and the stroll to the top, where you will be greeted by the majestic waterfall, offers a scenic landscape. There are several stores/cafes/restaurants along the way however some were closed probably because it was past the peak of the foliage when we went and there were not a lot of people visiting. The friendly and laid-back atmosphere added to the charm of the place. Be wary of passing cars though, it is also a residential area and the roads/pathways are tight. You will have to pile in a line so that a car can go through. They are generally considerate and go slowly by but there was one SUV that passed by us a little too fast for comfort. I highly recommend that you add this to your itinerary when you visit Osaka.
