What's not to love about this Wagner Farm?! After visiting other farms in the north/ northwestern suburbs, Wagner's farm feels so much more organic to m e. While Zebras, Camels and Giraffes are awesome to see up close, and pony rides are fun for the kids, these added attractions can also make the farm-to-table experience feel more like a trip to Kiddie Land (If you know what that is, you're showing your age, just like I did, ha). Visiting Wagner Farm felt like I was visiting the family farm of an old friend. I fell in love with two of the most beautiful horses I have ever seen. They weren't in stalls, they weren't chained to an oscillating horsey merry-go-round. They were unsaddled and grazing freely along the pasture side. The chicken house was authentic as was seeing the cows roam freely through the grassy knoll (if you don't see the cows along the trail, you might find them grazing along the perimeter of the farm). Granted, Wagner Farm is in the middle of a residential area so the pastures don't stretch on for acres and acres. But it is a functioning farm that provides farm-to-table produce for those in the community. Seeing a stretch of tilled soil reminded me that taking care of the earth was all of our responsibility and that farming was as close to our purpose as one could get. A key bonus is that the farm is open to the public and free of charge. You get the experience of farm life at a price that seems to good to be true. Whether you're in the burbs or the City, do yourself and the children in your life a huge favor- visit Wagner Farm as soon as possible. And don't worry about missing the warm season. They'll save you a seat on the next hayride out!!!

Experience the last working farm in cook county as part of the Glenview Park District at Wagner Farm. In the spring summer and fall, enjoy seeing multiple animals living on the farm. Watch cows being milked in the milk parlor at specified times or see them in the barn or field, chickens, pigs, sheep, horses, and check out the vintage tractors for a cool picture. Make sure to check out the inside of the buildings as well to take a peak into what life was like on the farm a century or more ago, as well as the history behind the Wagner Farm. Taste some yummy ice cream on the weekends too. In the summer check out the inside of the historical Wagner house to see a day in the life inside the home on a farm; bread being baked and kneaded on an old fashioned stove. Great educational and learning experience for the entire family! Highly recommend! Myself and my children love visiting the Wagner farm.

Built in 1850’s, the farm is currently managed by Glenview Park District and the farm is still functional. There is a huge parking lot opposite the farm( need to cross the road). They sell fresh eggs here. Lovely place to spend time, and enjoying the farm life.

We love it here. We stroll to the farm on a daily basis in the summer. Our son love seeing the hens, cows and horses. Occasionally he gets to touch them and it’s very neat to see his reactions to animals. The farm and park destroys have tons of events going on. The fresh market during warm months is also a delight. Addition: some animals are there all year round: cows, hens and horses. The pigs and sheep are there for the summer.

I used to go here with my family and I always enjoyed going here. I became a regular visitor. They always keep the barn clean, and full of activities. They even used to have an ice cream parlor! They also have a gift shop for any requested necessities. They also have a bee farm, cow farm, horse farm, and in the fall, they sell perfect pumpkins. This place has always been a part of my life.

This place was so much fun. I recommend taking the private tour. You get to help with the daily chores. You get to collect eggs, milk a cow, feed the cows, and feed the pigs. Was an awesome experience for my four girls.

This place is awesome for kids who love farm animals/tractors. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed everything from the animals to the park and their indoor area which includes a store, a playstore, picking "eggs" from hens, and drawing on a chalk cow. Haha. Definitely can spend a decent amount of time here, and keep the kiddos entertained.

Its really nice experience to visit Wagner farm. Other than farm animals I was surprised to see that they made small kids park there to engage kids, which is an impressive point for me when kids are with you. Eggs were sold outthat day, but we enjoyed icecream in farm's outlet. Overall its really fun visiting farm.

It was not what I expected. I took my granddaughter she was disappointed. There were no cows to be seen, the two horses which were out went onto the stables. Chicken too didn't see much of them. The play area was the only fun thing.

A fully operating small farm with horses cows sheep and chickens, run by Glenview Park District. Open during the day. Evening program with local performers one day a month, currently the last Friday of every month. Also has a community garden and a farmers market, check their website for the current schedule.

The Wagner Farm is right here in Cook County and only 5 miles from northwest Chicago. It's an actually working farm and love to visit the animals. The host a great farmer's market during the summer. I bought evergreen roping and wreaths for the holidays today. Make sure to support your local small business this weekend as well as the other 52 weeks of the year. πŸ„β›„οΈπŸŽ„πŸŽπŸšœ

    Nice place..Not much farm animals

Disappointed, there's not much to do here. The farm does not have many animals, only a cow and chickens. Playground ok for smaller children. We bought two tickets for the wagon ride, we couldn't use it because my son is terrified of horses, and the money was not returned to us. Told the young boy that unfortunately there is no such option because my son is afraid, he only told me that they cannot issue a refund. Really? What card machine doesn't allow refunds? πŸ™ˆ

So much to love about this farm - the history, the animals, the playground, the farmers market on Saturdays, the hayrides and birthday parties - the list goes on! It’s a weekend favorite and highly requested by my toddler (did I mention there’s ice cream πŸ˜…)

Came here for a quick farm fix. It was decent for a small farm. They had plenty of tractors to sit on. There was a cut historical building where we learned lots of cool things. They also had a farmers market that ended at 12 but luckily some were still there after that time. They also had some cows and one horse. The parking was also easy to find and not overly crowded.

Cool lil spot, I do have to say, reminded me of a place you'd go to in school.for.a field trip, and sure enough, there was a group of kids like 5 years old there on a field trip πŸ˜†

We've loved Wagner Farm through the years with kids, but today as empty nesters we visited the Farmhouse for a special Festive Farmhouse activity. Kids would love it, but as adults we had a great time touring and hearing stories about the historic home, drinking hot chocolate, making Cruller cookies on the wood-burning stove, and sewing cute felt ornaments! Suzannah and Tarah were lovely and knowledgeable guides who make the event extra fun and memorable. We'll be looking for other activities at the farmhouse-- both guides are hosting small events there. Highly recommended!

Recent playground addition is so engaging for the kiddos. I wish I could put 6 stars as growing up in rural Indiana it’s difficult to show kids anything different then house after house in the suburbs. Farmers market hosted here on Sat mornings is solid.

The ice cream shop at Wagner farm was amazing. The server Daphne was very kind and gave me and my friends gummy bears. She was very welcoming and gave us a little tour. Overall a wonderful experience! Would go back again

Our go-to walking destination when visiting the kids. As a luxury realtor in the North Shore, a great resource for the neighborhood.

Amazing place for young & mature adults. Historic Wagner Farm is the ONLY remaining dairy farm in all of cook county & only 17 miles from the city of Chicago. They have an old fashioned ice cream shop, playground, chickens, pigs & of course lots of cows!!

Amazing piece of Glenview's history. Educational but a very fun new addition for kids. Don't expect more than a few animals but that's not what they're about. Highly recommend for kids for a short day trip
