Hidden gem only 45 minutes away from the city. Food and service was wonderful. Every meal plated was amazing. The array of wines on offer were great for the region. Highly recommend for a day trip. Definitely have a 3 course meal and have a designated driver with you!

Attended on the weekend for a family lunch, and was so impressed with everything from the venue, the food and beverages and mostly, the kind and accommodating staff. Our waiter, Jen was more than helpful offering to take photos of the kids menu ingredient list for allergies, and tasting the wine before purchasing. Jen went above and beyond to look after us. We then went and sat outside by the beautiful fire pits and took a family photo, when a staff member came out of nowhere offering to take a group shot for us. Super friendly! Meals were delicious and all 14 of us commented on how impressed we were. Definitely will be back! Thanks an Ocean View Estate!

My friends and I a group of 11 visited to celebrate one of our birthdays. We took a limo and we’re excited to have an awesome day. We arrived for our 1pm booking and were made to wait almost 40 minutes for our first round of drinks to come. The entree took nearly two hours and just as they arrived the decided we had had too much to drink and cut us off. I had had three mod strength beers in two hours. Our main meals didn’t come until nearly 4pm. The whole experience was really disappointing. If I could give zero stars I would. If I owned this venue I would be livid. Our table of 11 bill was only $1100 which is to say around $110 a head. We could have easily drank that much as a group of 11 40+ year olds. Terrible terrible terrible.

Came here for Mother’s Day lunch and had a lovely time. Food was excellent! Everything was cooked perfectly (especially the Duck) The only complaint I have for the food is the Cauliflower entrée. It was slightly too rich and the portion size was too large for a starter. Other than that, the food really was 5/5. The dessert was my favourite. Staff/service was just as good too. All matched with fresh air and a picturesque view of the vineyard and surrounding mountains. I’ll definitely make the 40+ minute journey again sometime and try something else from the menu.

An exceptional experience. The location is stunning, and we picked a fantastic day. The food is next level, and the meat was cooked to perfection. The staff were attentive, and the service was great. Can't fault it.

Our wedding at Ocean View Winery was everything we imagined and more. Kate and Andy did a beautiful job. From their assistance in preparations to the gorgeous venue, we had many compliments on the menu and delicious taste - it was sensational. Highly recommend for any wedding style. Renee & Lisa

The toilets were unkempt at 1pm. There were only 2 servers & I had a hard time gaining their attention. Overall though- the food was a let down. The wine itself is a pleasant experience however, I recommend ordering the tasters.

We had our wedding at Ocean view last year, and this is a welllll overdue review. (Sorry it took so long) Where to start!? If I could rate 10 stars instead of 5 for Kate, I would! She was an absolute Gem! From the moment we came to view the winery and venue, she made us feel like family. Nothing was too much for Kate. She answered all of my nervous bride questions leading up to our big day, and delivered 10 fold on the day for us. I don’t know what we would have done without her. Thank you so much Kate for making our dream wedding possible for us! We couldn’t have asked for more! Xx We chose to have our ceremony down on the lake under the gazebo (before the new roof had been erected). It was just beautiful. I loved the location and the outlook/backdrop. Made for some amazing photos and really special moments for us. I would certainly recommend to have your ceremony down here. Especially with the new roof they have built, that would stop the sun shining in your eyes in late afternoon (better for photos) and great for wet weather option. Kate was amazing enough to let us use the restaurant for our reception venue. As when I walked in it took my breath away and was exactly what I had I envisioned. They decorated the venue just beautifully for us too, was very romantic. We chose to do a cocktail style wedding and I am so glad we did. We had everyone mingling and dancing to the band, with tables and chairs dotted around for our guests to sit and chat should they wish. Or they could sit out by the fires or pot belly stove (we had a winter wedding) it was just magic. Then there was the food!!!! Oh my gosh the food was simply amazing! All of it was so delicious and they accommodated every single dietary requirement our guests had without a hassle at all. If I had to do it all over again, I would certainly do the cocktail option, it was fantastic. Again, Kate seemed to be everywhere at once! She made the evening stress free and so very wonderful from beginning to end. I simply can’t thank her enough for what she did for us. (Thank you Kate xx) We also booked out all of the cabins on site to get ready in for our big day. The winemaker cottage was the perfect space for myself and my bridesmaids, and was fantastic being on site (we walked down to the ceremony) was good for the nerves being all on site. I would absolutely recommend Ocean view estates for your big day! You will not regret it! It’s a whole package deal rolled into one, Kate and the team will certainly look after you! We can’t wait to head back soon for our 1 year anniversary ;) Cheers! The Clarks! :)

Myself and my hubby had our wedding here on Wednesday. Gorgeous venue, food and drinks were fantastic!! A special thanks to Allison and the team for arranging everything. The rooms were fabulous, stayed in the Cabernet Cabin. Loved every single moment of it! Highly recommend this venue for weddings and accommodation!! If I could rate 10 stars I would. Thank you OVE!

Really confused by the bad reviews. Staff were lovely and friendly without being over the top ensuring a relaxed atmosphere. Nice to see young people being given a chance. We had a pram and were seated appropriately and very warmly welcomed. The banquet menu was perfect and wine flights were a good taster of their wine selection. Obviously some wines were preferred over others. Only issue we had was a rather large group arrived that were very loud, however not the venues fault and was late into our booking. Thank you ocean view. We will be back.

Had the pleasure to dine at the Ocean View Estate Restaurant last Sunday. The weather was superb the view was stunning. The only reason I gave this review a 4/5 was that we weren't greeted immediately. There was the staff at the bar walking around us as we awkwardly stood at the counter. From my observation of the venue, I assumed this was a silver spoon venue however we didn't receive new cutlery after our entree instead we used the same cutlery. ( Not a big deal just would've been nice). We also didn't get asked if we would like any more water. I felt we were a little neglected considering our table was right next to the door. Overall a beautiful venue and the food was brilliant. I will come again for the experience.

My partner and I were so happy we chose Ocean View Estates as our wedding venue. It was an absolutely beautiful setting and the staff went above and beyond to make the lead up to the wedding as smooth as possible and ensured that the day itself was absolutely amazing! The place has decent wet weather options for the ceremony as well and great on-site accommodation for immediate family and our bridal party. Not to mention it is fantastically priced for a wedding venue of it's kind. And all costs were communicated clearly (no hidden charges). The BEST part had to be the food! All of our guests were raving about it being the best wedding food they'd ever had. A huge thank you to the OCE team! You were amazing!

Great experience having Ocean View Estates host our wedding and reception. Easy from start to finish. The wedding coordinator Allison is a star. There were never too many questions from our side or something she couldn’t help with. Worked great with our other vendors. Our guests loved the venue from start to finish and still can’t stop complimenting. Very much recommended. Will be back for many restaurant visits to reminisce.

I don't provide reviews often as I like to give places the benefit of the doubt but this is an exception to the rule.... this place could be great but... Positives - Great venue, contemporary style - good view of the vineyard - Merlot is great - cauliflower, calamari and chicken burger were great Negatives - Its a pub/restaurant on a vineyard - the cellar door is closed so almost defeats the purpose of attending if you're expecting winery experience. (Don't make the drive out there if this is what you're expecting) - We arrived at 3pm after driving 1.45 hours, waited at the front door to be seated, finally after 10 minutes found a staff member to seat us, we informed them we had an early dinner booking and we were told that we cant change our reservation but all we wanted was to be seated for drinks and a snack. So wasn't a great start especially when there was plenty of seating outside. - They mentioned for us to order through the app which never worked. - The service was poor and we felt like an inconvenience to the staff when flagging down to order, I get they may have been busy but this shouldn't come at the expense of good service. - We wanted to order food, we were advised that food is unavailable after 3pm, however, shortly after a bowl of fries was ordered to a table next to us not withstanding staff were walking past with bowls of fries, this is especialy bad as they knew we wanted to order food as we hadn't had lunch. We've never had a winery or restaurant not even be able to provide bread or cheese while the kitchen is closed, such a simple thing to do to keep customers happy but they would t even do this. - There was zero ambience in this venue, no music or anything. In summary, just an overall disappointing experience and wouldn't recommend anyone to attend in its current state. I'm not sure of they've had a change in management or if it's a work culture issue but stuff don't go above and beyond for anyone so makes you feel unwelcome and small things can be done to to vastly improve the experience. We've been to winery's all over Australia and overseas and unfortunately this is the worst one so far.

We stayed in the cottage in the vineyard and dined at the restaurant on Thursday night. Both our entrees and main meals were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The waitress was very friendly, professional and efficient. The staff kindly boxed up our shared dessert, which was also very delicious, so we could enjoy it back in the cottage. We sat outside, as we had our little dog with us, and the view was lovely. All in all, a lovely night and would highly recommend. Thanks to the talented staff. 😊

We were gifted a night accommodation and a three course dinner. It was beautiful. The cabin is lovely with view of the vineyard and the local wildlife. Dinner was amazing and the service was perfect, fast and super friendly.

This winery has amazing view and good wine. However, I understand that it’s a busy weekend which the service is very slow. We got our food for almost an hour wait but we were not upset about it as it is delicious. Hopefully they can improve their service and push out the order quicker next time.

A wonderful day out, a nice country drive followed by a wonderful winery vista. Great restaurant overlooking the vines. The lunch was top class, great menu and their own wines to try. All in all a great experience.

  • 5/5 Andrew E. 1 year ago on Google
We stayed 2 nights in the Cabernet Cabin and experienced the behind the scene winery tour which was very interesting. This included a number of different wines to taste and a cheese platter which we could take back to our cabin. This was followed by the banquet lunch for 2 which we we able to spread out over a number of hours while enjoying the wine sampler favourites. We finished by purchasing a bottle of wine to take back to the cabin and enjoy while sitting in the private spa on the deck of the cabin overlooking the vineyard. The staff were exceptional across all areas of the estate. We would highly recommend Ocean View Estates as a destination.

Possibly one of the most underwhelming visits to a winery/restaurant I've ever experienced and I've been fortunate enough to have done many all over the world. In fact it speaks volumes when the one and only highlight of the experience was the helicopter trip to and from the property. The food was mediocre at best and frankly most of the wines are a C+ Maybe one or two managed a B As is supported by the Vivino reviews online - most scoring between 2.5 -> 3.8 out of 5. On a positive note; The location is pretty and with a nice countryside outlook. My recommendation is save your money and avoid

Lovely little hidden gem. Shared a great afternoon with friends in the picnic area, enjoying the surroundings. Platter was plentiful for two people, wine was delicious. Do yourself a favour and head up Mt Mee to Ocean View Estate, you won't regret it.

I was dining to celebrate my son's 21st with a group of 6. The food was exceptional. Everyone was extremely happy with the service and the food. The "Flights of Wine" experiences were so much fun and delicious to boot! I will be returning soon.

The service was impeccable, the view from the deck for lunch was delightful, the food was delicious and the drinks were great. I took my partner for her birthday lunch and we weren't disappointed at all. We will most definitely be back and possibly even stay in their on-site accommodation to extend the fantastic experience.

Wonderful… very busy on a Thursday and they were most accommodating. Weather was a little overcast but views were still good. Meals … the Duck, the Beef Cheeks and the Ribs were all declared terrific. Wine Flights … favourites … were a great way to taste their wares. Desserts were also good and the service was fine.

The view is really good and it's a beautiful place for special occasions. The food is well presented and prepared. However, it took 1 hour and 10 minutes to be prepared on a Sunday at 12:00. It got busier after that, so you can probably expect longer waiting. A second round of calamari for example, took about 30-40 minutes. The portions are small, although they are delicious. Price is also 30 to 40% higher than other venues, and you pay for the view and the experience. The pan seared duck was very nice (although slightly raw). We will probably try again in some weekday, with no kids, on winter (it's very hot there, specially if you don't seat outside). Maybe 1 hour waiting with no kids goes faster. :) Make sure you book before going.

We received a warm welcome. Staff were attentive to all of our needs. A couple of special touches were given to our birthday lady which she appreciated. Food was very enjoyable and beautifully presented. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone wishing to dine in a unique country surrounding.

Beautiful food and location with wonderful service! The team at Ocean View were incredibly friendly and accommodating! Also, the food was delicious and was catered towards me being gluten free and dairy free. To the poor servers that had to deal with the group of rude and loud men, you handled the situation very gracefully and professionally. We will definitely be back!

May most times be better than 4 stars. First visit today. The place is really well presented. The face to face service was very, very good. I have a couple of food intolerances and I felt that I was well looked after. We only ordered takeaway, a couple of burgers. The food was average but the waiting time, 45 very long minutes, was nothing short of ridiculous... it just wasn't that busy. We wouldn't go out of our way to visit again but if we were already in the area we may give it a second chance. The staff really were lovely and most of the customers seemed very happy. Had the food ingredients been slightly better quality and had the wait time been shorter, the place would be screaming out " 5 stars "

Excellent experience! I wholeheartedly recommend the vineyard tour followed by the banquet. Our tour guide Andrew was very knowledgeable and friendly and made sure my mum (who uses a walking stick) was comfortable. The wine tasting was delicious and I loved learning about the stories behind the wines that Oceanview Estate produce. The wine, cheese and fruit supplied was excellent quality and very generous portions. The food with the banquet was amazing. The portion sizes were very generous (almost too generous as we left very full), good value for money and the presentation was lovely. The food arrived quickly. Dessert took a little longer as there was a wedding party at the same time, but I appreciated the extra time for my tummy to settle before dessert! Wait staff were very friendly and very efficient. All in all an excellent experience and we will definitely be going back again soon. Thanks Andrew, Kate and staff at Oceanview Estate!

My husband and I recently stayed at Ocean View Estates. We started our stay in the restaurant with the Banquet Lunch menu. The food was DELICIOUS! All the dishes were well prepared and presented. The staff were friendly and worked efficiently to serve us. The view from our table out to the gardens added to the wonderful experience. Looking out over the vineyards from our cabin surrounded by beautiful bush trees ensured we had a relaxing and peaceful few days. The cheese platter and bottle of wine waiting for us were greatly enjoyed! Thank you Ocean View Estates.

Wine tour with cheeseboard was very informative and tasty. Loved hearing about how much care they take of their vines and the wine process for a boutique winery. We then went onto the banquet lunch, which did not disappoint. The share platters were well catered and delicious. The view from the dining room is beautiful and the whole place looked amazing. Could not fault the service either, from the knowledgeable and amicable tour guide to the restaurant staff, they were all fabulous. Will definitely visit here again.

We had a lovely lunch up at Ocean View Estates on Friday. Gorgeous day for it with a lovely breeze. Delicious fresh food - I had the soft shell crab salad (GF) and the new desert spring rolls, which were both delicious. Also got to try the delightfully refreshing Verdelho and brought a bottle home. The whole experience is so good, we keep going back!

Had a wonderful dining experience for my birthday with a couple of friends at this estate on a perfect Queensland day. We enjoyed our scrumptious meals I ordered duck confit and my husband had beef cheeks. My compliments to the Chef for the fine meals. Our daughter in Switzerland arranged with the restaurant staff via email, to make a delicious special cake as a surprise. I was pleasantly surprised when the staff came out with the cake and sang happy birthday to me. What a wonderful experience dining surrounded with views of the valley and gum trees around us. I would have given a five star but my husband and I had no cutlery on our side of the table (our guests had) so we had to get up and take them from one of the vacant tables as the staff were all busy. Overall, we had a great lunch, service was good, and chef was fantastic. We will surely bring overseas guests next time.

  • 2/5 Mal S. 8 months ago on Google
The service wasn’t great, I was left ignored for some time. Never given water despite requesting it- the empty water glass just sat on the table throughout my 3 course meal. The main dish duck was dry & entree size portion at $39. The dessert was called strawberry arancini but had no strawberry in it. At approximately $150 per person I would say this is not worth it. If I ended up here again I would only get a cheese board too pair with the wines.

We booked the vine yards and banquet tour and it was well worth it! Seeing the process of wine making and walking in the vineyard was amazing. The food was superb and the wine delicious! Thank you to the lovely girl that did the tour and also to Becky for her amazing service throughout our meal!

We absolutely loved visiting this patch of paradise. The lunch was well beyond our expectations, bursting with flavour, innovative ingredients with lovely attention to detail and generous portions. It was pretty magic to be enjoying such magnificent wines that were from this beautiful estate. To top it off, the view of the vineyards, rolling hills and pretty lily covered ponds was a feast for the eyes! A very special place indeed!

Winter at the estate was serene, though dry. Food and wine were beautiful and comforting in a chilly day. Service was warm and thoughtful too. Stayed in Shiraz cottage and ate at the restaurant twice. The cottage was basic but clean, tidy and peaceful it was exactly what we were looking for. The food at the restaurant is amazing - could easily hold its own in Brisbane CBD. The duck was the best we have had in Australia. Great base to explore Dayboro and to do walks near Mt Mee in the National Park. Can't wait to come back.

Presentation of the food and taste was top notch. Great menu with Banquet option. The wine is great and you can enjoy a flight so that you can taste all of the wine on offer. All in all a lovely afternoon, this is our second time to the Estate and Restaurant and I would go again.

Spoke to Hannah at 10:04am asking if we had to make a booking for wine tasting and a light lunch for around 11am. It was confirmed we did not. Tasting could not happen due to Covid but we could get a pallet with lunch. Great! We drove an hour to buy 10 bottles of wine and have lunch but when we arrived we found out it was only outside seating while it is pouring rain. Unable to sit inside the wine cellar area due to a wedding. Why was this not mentioned on the phone? Unable to sit inside the restuarant as you need to do a 2 course meal and all booked out until 2:30pm. Very disappointed with this experience. Drove an hour and left without wine or food. Lack of communication and no inside seating during this time.

Didn't stay here - only came for lunch. When we arrived there was no clear signage. We found the tasting room entrance easily enough but there was no service. It took a good 5 minutes to be served - there was just no one around, and the staff that were around were too preoccupied doing things like looking at clipboards. When we were finally served we got 2 tasting flights and sat outside. It was cold and they only had one fire pit - it would be great if they could get some portable gas burners and maybe some blankets. Once seated inside for lunch the service was attentive. Our order was incorrectly taken - a side was missing from the main service. We were not charged for it however it would have been nice to have it with our mains. All in all, I see what the menu was trying to go for here and the presentation of the dishes was lovely but all the courses just lacked something. The flavours were all a bit dull. They sounded fabulous on the menu but didn't hit the mark for me. They also didn't hit the mark based on the price either. Nice spot for a date, a weekend drive out of the city etc. I sincerely hope they improve their dish flavours and overall service because it's a great venue otherwise.

Pretty good even compared to our pretty high bench mark i.e. living in South Australia. Great location, easy to get there and enjoyed the tasting flights.
