Nice 1.8 mile loop trail that alternates between pavement, raised boardwalk and grass trails. Nice parking lot with a bathroom. Saw plenty of lizards, a small snake and a raccoon. Relatively scenic with few people early in the morning.

Had a lovely scenic morning walk, I must say thank you for the heads up to wear shoes you don't care for! It gets muddy when the trail ends for a bit, but the views were great. Got to see lots of nature and teach the young to respect being in wild life's territory. Got to see lots of birds, snakes, lizards, bones, and historical buildings. Will definitely be back no gators seen on this trip.

Great little trail, just under 2 miles. Needed to kill an hour before heading to the airport and this park was just the place I needed. Seemed like others were coming to walk after work. Partially paved trail, partially grass. It was wet and soggy so come prepared.

Nice escape if you live in the area. No dogs allowed on trail (panthers present in area). Facilities seem to be closed for COVID, but the trail is definitely open. It is likely wet a bit deeper in to the trail beyond the board walk segments. Take a right at the T in the path and follow it until you get to the viewing area. Worth the 1/2 mile walk. Picnic tables and gazebo are in good condition and seem to be rarely used.

The rubber path was nice and easy on my feet and knees! Some parts of the trail were shaded and we got to see a little wildlife while walking. Some of the path is “marshy” to standing water but nothing above ankle right now (11/17) was there between noon and 2PM on a Friday and we had the trail to ourselves. Had some beautiful views and the tidbits of history were really cool. The whole trail is not the rubber cement and you do have a little hike, but the trail is marked very well and there are benches along certain parts of the trail. If you play Pokémon go there are 4 gyms and 10 pokestops. Ware a hat, your phone, some water, and maybe a change of shoes

I recently moved to Fort Myers, and have been looking for places to run that are closer to home while the tourist crowds are here. This place really does offer a lot of variety for runners and walkers alike. A crushed rock path (40% of the 1.8 miles) and off-road cross country trail (40%), and composite boardwalks (20%). Of course, I am sure that during the rainy season, most of the trails are not accessible due to standing water, but I am taking advantage of the full course while I can. Photos were taken on the complete 1.8 miles, but they do not do the in person views justice. Get out and enjoy it!

No Dogs Allowed! I hate that we don’t allow dogs to go on trails and in certain parks. Specially a trail like this one. I hate walking trails by myself, the world is crazy. They had one bathroom at parking area and it was locked, nice pavilion with picnic tables in parking lot area. That’s as far as we got.

Best to go during the evenings or early mornings. Saw a few deer and a couple snakes. Went during the dry season so the terrain was easily maneuverable.

If anyone is bored at home during COVID-19 and wants to take a stroll this trail is nice and easy. To our advantage there were no other people here besides us, but I don’t think it’s ever truly busy? The trail is nearly 2 miles and it’s a good place to take a walk here in town while enjoying a bit of nature!

Pro: very nice wheelchair accessible rubberized path of about a half mile. The rest is comfy gravel or dirt. I spied a gopher tortoise! No pets allowed. There are some very nice raised platforms above what I ca only assume is generally flooded during the wet season. Thursday, 11 am, only 2 other people were there. Con: The trail covers only a small fraction of the preserve, and it's very close to the 6 lane wide and busy State Rt 82. So there is constant, roaring traffic.

Fabulous place to visit. Easy flat walk. Part of the path is paved, part has a boardwalk, and part is mown grass. Really lovely nature trail. So many birds! I saw a rabbit. I took a picture of some poop, there was fur in it. I wonder what creature left it? Highly recommend this walk. Bring a bottle of water and your camera. Enjoy!

I really enjoy this park. It's close to 82, so you hear the traffic easy. It has a nice paved parking area and old structures from the training ground that used to be here in 82. In the rainy season, the entire trail isnt walkable, but in the dryer months, you have a 3 mile trail to hike. The trails are very well maintained otherwise. Also, 2 GeoCaches can be found here.

Beautiful Trails some black top, boardwalks and some mud. Lucky today it was not too muddy but it has not rained for a while and it is a dry winter

Nice little 2 mile walk. Wasn't much to see there but a few frogs and lizards. The history of this place is pretty cool, used to be a military base. There are a couple buildings and structures from the old base still there. Nice walk though.

Nice place to get away from the crowds. Be aware that the shredded-tire paved paths turn quickly to dirt. If it's been raining, be prepared to wade if you want to make a full circuit. Quiet and very natural, despite being close to the airport.

Great all natural trail however there are no drinking water faucets anywhere on the premises. There is very little shade on the entire trail so make sure you take protection and plenty of hydration! If you have that it's a great to 2+ mile trek

As with many of these beautiful parks, a highway is all too close. Interestingly, it was a past military training spot. Boardwalk & dirt trails mixed. Nice views of flat prairie-like fields. More trees would be good here.

Beautiful scenery, incredible boardwalk areas, and an all around great location. Only issue is that it is used as an erotic meet-up point by gay men. I was followed by one for more than a mile before I finally met up with a Ranger. The man was very obviously scoping me out. Do not come out here without some form of protection and be clear with anyone who may seem suspicious
