My family and I love to visit this park several times each month for a walk and explore. Everywhere is well maintained and clean, and there’s so much to do other than walk, cycle or run the trails. There is more than one play area for children of any age, rentable paddle boats, a miniature railway, a couple places to buy ice cream or snacks, and we’ve even seen a wedding take place at the gazebo! All in all a beautiful place to visit, with plenty of wildlife and activities, just be sure to pack the sunscreen and bug spray!

I love the variety of things this park offers. It has a small train museum with gift shop, a mile long mini train ride, walking with mother nature (and a bike trail I still have yet to walk), 2 small water parks/play area (1 currently under construction), 2 playgrounds (1 under construction), wide open spaces (for sports, parties, or whatever you can imagine), small lake for fishing or paddle board or those boats you pedal (self propelled), AND a Children's Garden with a Community Growing Garden. It's a $5 parking fee for all day, which helps develop and maintain the park but it is worth it. Train rides are $5/person, children under 3 are free, or buy a pass like me for $45 for 13 rides. It's a beautiful place for kids and adults. You can rent the boats and family bikes. I believe prices are reasonable starting at single riders (2 people) for $20, I saw the sign didn't really rent one yet. And during the holidays there's events with multitudes of other things to do. We can definitely spend all day there and never be bored.

Enjoyed a good day at Lakes Park biking with friends. The trails are nicely maintained and the scenery around the lake is quite pleasant. It’s a peaceful place for a casual outing and the biking paths are decent for a relaxed ride. It’s a decent spot for group activities or just to enjoy a bit of nature. Would recommend for a low-key day out. Wednesdays they have a farmers market that’s excellent to come back for!

The best Park ever seen!... It haven't missed anything for safe entertainment.!... Here we have for the whole family, all ages, with multiple options. Really well maintained. Share and respect between Nature and man which is a great example of convibence that urge to follow for others. Lakes show many window to a beautiful and relaxing view, have a rest and enjoy... Natural primitive trail, and super wide sand-shell trail for options and accessible to bicycles...

Excellent place to visit, exercise and just meditate…. Until I saw the warning sign for alligators and snakes. 😮😳 Not my cup of tea! But the farmers market made up for it… everything was colorful and appeared fresh.. I hope to visit again!

This park is AMAZING! It literally has everything for everyone and is HUGE! Great for nature walks on the trails around the entire park. Playgrounds are super nice and don’t forget to take your little one for a ride on the small train. We had a great time and couldn’t possibly get to it all so we’re planning on going back soon!

Great place in my neighborhood. With a two year old toddler this is ideal to get my kid out and about. We as parents have seen him making leaps in being comfortable in nature and around wildlife. Familiarity with different plant species is always a bonus. Today in particular was a shady day with decent cloud cover. We started at about 5 PM through the Children's Garden and made a loop around the Botanical Garden, stopping at the Koi fish pond with a bridge over it. Awesome stroll. Also climbed up a Jamaican Cherry tree, stuffed my face with the juicy cherries and shared some with my 2-year old.

This is one of our family's favorite parks! Always a great experience. The park is well kept and there is so much to do. We love to ride our bikes on the trail around the park.I recently noticed they have work out stations along the trail too. My son loves the train ride, the big open field, all three of the playgrounds and the splash pads. We've enjoyed the butterfly garden, the picnic/bbq area and can't wait to ride the rentals on the lake. Also, the park is very active and does a lot of family friendly events; especially during the holidays.

Beautiful area! There are beautiful trails here. People are enjoying themselves all around. They have trails, a botanical garden, kayaking, fishing, playground, lake, train rides, bike rentals, and more! The whole park is beautiful. There is plenty of parking - need to pay to park. Enjoy! 🌴

My husband and I had a fun day at Lakes Park today. We took in the Wednesday Farmer's Market. We bought some organic lettuce from Venus Veggies, Flying Eagle kombucha, and empanadas from Pilar's Empanadas Argentinas - yummy! We then toured the park on a tandem surrey bike ride. Parking was inexpensive ($1/hr). This is a beautiful park for adults and children to have fun. Pets are not allowed.

this is a really beautiful park! Lots of nature and beautiful trails. A fun playground and fun train. I saw a water park also. There are restrooms to use, water, fountains, and the bike rental was a lot of fun! $25 for an hour of use, it was a great workout and a great way to enjoy the park.

The grandchildren absolutely LOVE this place! The slides, the jungle gym, all the climbing is so much fun! Especially when they want me to join in! Haha! The train ride is sooo nice and relaxing. It travels at a steady 3mph, so no worries.. Can't wait to go back!

Went here to do some walking with mom. Beautiful morning to get out, and it's a pretty park. There are some areas in the shade towards the back, but it's mostly in the sun now, thanks to past hurricanes. We walked about 2 miles, but also a great area to ride your bike around safely. Great area for the kids, there's a community garden and a children's garden, water play area for kids and pavilions for parties. It's $1 an hour to park or $5 for the day. Beautiful grounds to enjoy a walk.

Gorgeous park with 2 playgrounds. Train rides for kids, if you want to do it as a 3-6 person family more then once by the 13 ticket pack. Park is $5 for full day or $1 per hour. There is a small food stand that makes burgers hot dogs and chicken fingers with fries. 2 spots to grab ice cream or rent bikes. Splash pad won't be open until probably the summer 2024. Great park!

Great walking park, with different trail options! Beautiful water areas, and the bridge walking path is lovely. Lots to see. And two playgrounds, one on either side of the bridge area. Must be good for bird watching, because a lot of people were out with binoculars. Also must be decent fishing because there were a number of fishers out. Could see tilapia, bass, and minnows in the water. Lots of people on a weekday, so I can't imagine what the weekends are like when it's nice out! The playgrounds are perfect for kids! And it's right next to the railroad museum, so you can stop there after with kids and pay $5 for a 15 minute ride! The farmers market here on Wednesday was also impressive! But very busy! Good luck finding a parking spot when it's busy 😅

My kids had a really good entire day in here. The place has a big playground area, very well maintained. We also went to the train museum and got into the train ride 2 times, is really a good experience, at the time each ticket cost $5, kids less than 5 years ride free. This ride is awarded in Christmas when they have a light show and so in hallowing. The park is huge, another part the kids enjoyed was getting in the inflatables area, 5 different inflatables, this cost $12 per children and last the entire day, bit overpriced for me, but kids loved. We had rapid foot in the cafeteria just across the museum, we had chicken tenders, fries and ice cream, the area for eat is outside next to the lake, awesome views but, be AWARE of the birds around, they pup in my kids fries 🥴. The park also have place to rent bikes and enjoy the ride with the entire family, you could walk if you prefer, you will see a lot of birds, turtles and fishes in the lake, never saw an alligator but you never know 😉. We stay from 11am to 3:30pm, and I’m really glad came here with the kids. I will recommend to others parents around.

Been coming to this park since 1995.They redid the whole park, and I was fishing there recently.Have 1 question. Does the foot path go all the way around the lake? Or does it now dead end? I got to a fence and the path went away from the lake. May have been expanded? No reason for me to come to the park anymore as they do not have wifi, which is important for playing pokemon go. Waste of time for me to enter the park anymore.

Watching Lakes Park evolve into the current incarnation over the past 4 decades has been an interesting experience. From the fun filled days of skim boarding along the lakes edge and swimming in the roped off areas, to the era of the Medieval Fair, to the current crowd bird watching, having childrens birthday parties and exercising on the trails and boardwalks, Lakes Park has been in a constant state of flux yet managed to stay relevant to the community. We need more protected green spaces like this, and despite the rampant development that encroaches on the park borders and steals a little of the intimacy it used to possess, it is still a beautiful and enjoyable place to visit decades later.

We brought our 4yo here while on vacation and he absolutely loved it. The play structure is train themed and has a decent amount of stuff to do. There is also a mini train the kids can ride (free for ours, $5 for an adult). The train does a 1mi loop and is really cool. There are a ton of trails, flowers, and gardens to walk through as well. To top it all off, there's a splash pad for the kids to enjoy.

Love love this park! When I first moved to the area, I read about this park and wanted to go. The pictures on web just can’t capture the experience you have when you get there. So beautiful and there’s something for everyone! We love the paths that you can walk or ride bikes on.

Fell in love with Lakes Park. I had no idea it was so fully-equipped with things like bikes and carts that hold multiple people. There’s a great kid’s water park, pretty water-side picnic areas with tables and large covered areas with 12 - 14 picnic tables. In fact, we saw 2 baby showers going on complete with bar-b-que cooked on the provided grills and all the trimmings. There are many tennis courts, a nice wide sidewalk running throughout and trails to walk. Bottom line? I definitely recommend a day at The Park!

It's a great place to go and have lots of fun for the entire family. There is lots of wildlife in certain areas, and tons of areas to play. There are pavilions that are reserved for parties, BBQ's, etc. Paddleboat and bicycle rentals are available. There are multiple playgrounds and a splash pad for the kids. The only reason it gets 4 stars is because it is VERY busy. Other than that, it's perfect!

This park has something for everyone! I took my toddler grandson and we rode the little train which takes you through the park passing by miniature towns, over little bridges and water. The whistle blows and conductor was great and enthusiastic. Then to the snack bar for a treat and drink. There’s a real train on display, the engine. Lots of great playgrounds, one train themed, splash pads, walking/running paved paths, swings, restrooms and more. Also a great kids area and garden to explore. A perfect morning of fun and exercise in the great SWFL area! We’ll be back!

Had a great time at this park. This was our first time here and I can't wait to go back! There's something for everyone to do here. The ice cream was delicious and we loved walking the trails. They had bicycles and boats you can rent. The splash pads weren't working due to the hurricane, but we are looking forward to when they get it fixed. The bathrooms were accessible and well kept. There are gardens there you can walk through. Unfortunately, we did not do that but will definitely do that next time we go!

I took my 9 yr old to ride our bikes mid-week. Arrived around 9:30am and had plenty of parking and was only $5 for the whole day. We enjoyed our rides and playground. The paddle boats and food was a bit over priced but I expected that. The train ride was nice for $5 each which I felt was affordable for the experience. A lot of walkers early in the morning so just make sure you have a bell in your bike to pass folks. I imagine later in the day all the 4 person bikes would make it difficult to navigate your own bike around the paths. Overall I would go again.

I’m sorry to leave a negative review. We always enjoyed this place. Today I called to the park at 10.30’am to be sure the train rides and the museum were working. It rained but when we arrived before 1 pm the sun was shining again. We traveled 45 minutes and everything is closed. The lady assured me it was open until 2 pm. This is unfair and not justified.

Lakes Park is a breathtaking oasis, inviting you to immerse yourself in its natural wonders. As you stroll along its enchanting walking path, vibrant wading birds grace the scene, painting the air with a kaleidoscope of colors. Keep an eye out for the occasional alligator, adding a touch of wild excitement to your journey. Feel the thrill of adventure as you explore Lakes Park by renting a rickshaw, pedaling through its scenic trails on a bike, or cruising its serene waters in a boat. The options are as diverse as the park itself, promising an exhilarating escape bathed in Florida's glorious sunshine.

This park is huge! Love the bicycles you can rent, playgrounds are big for kids to explore, love the mini train ride & small museum for the kids to learn about. There's a Children's Garden for the kids that I still need to check out. Lots of pathways to bike & walk. Beautiful lake. There's a separate field with pavilions.

Great find. Went here in late February. Our two year old loved the playground, the train ride, and his front seat on our surrey rental. Decent snack shop with hot food and ice cream. Beautiful lake to pedal or hike around. The train museum was a neat detour from the outdoor fun. Would recommend.

Easy walking, running, biking paths here. The water and plant variety provide nice scenery and both attract birds for more to look at. Quite a few kid friendly areas and space for venues. Rental bike/carts available in different sizes. Far enough from main roads to be serene.

Great place to visit. Several trails (many are paved) and gardens to see. The trails are very handicap friendly. I plan on taking my father in law there soon. He is confined to a wheel chair but will have no issues at all navigating the area. They also have many types of bikes you can rent from 2 wheels to four wheels. Absolutely beautiful!!!!

This a good size fun park lots of various activities to do. The rent a bikes work very nice. There are sights all over the park, paths looping all around nature, and many different animals. Haven't tried the paddle boats yet and you can even bring you kayak or canoe if you wanted. I personally enjoy a good long hike and go up and down multiple times on the hills by the parking lot.

Great Park to visit for adults and children. We rented a bike to ride around the park which was fun to see the other side and enjoy the nature along the way. We all had a great time especially the children while playing in the park. The guy at the rental shop for the bikes was very friendly and nice to talk to. They also have a garden attached to the park where local people rent a space to plant vegetables and flowers. I thought this was a great idea to help bring the community together for those who don't have a back yard or access to land. It's also promotes and good health. Will go back again when we visit next time.

Very nice park to walk and big playground for the kids. Love when they have the little Train rides and take you around the park during the holidays. The only reason I'm giving it 4 Stars instead of 5 is because they don't allow dogs. I don't understand why. My friend brought his emotional support animal the other day and they kicked him out. Otherwise the park is really beautiful and if you pay close attention you might even be able to spot a gator on the water. They also have bike rentals and some water rentals as well. Very fun park.

This park is a total gem!!! We have loved it for years. But just today discovered the northern eastern Trail. Has a definite preserve feel to it. This park has walks for everyone whether you want woods, marsh, lake, paved trails, crushed shell trails. There are Gardens that identify trees and flowers. There are rentals of boats and bikes. Someday I would love to go on the little train ride.

Lakes Park is one of Southwest Florida's best. My wife and I went here to walk on our visit to Florida. Growing up in the area, and having family and friends here, we were familiar with it. Wow it's improved dramatically. The miles of walking trails are easy, paved and interesting. Lots to see. We loved the gardens. There's a large children's area with a playground, garden and train ride. And of course the lakes for freshwater swimming. Plenty of fun and educational things to do.

The park is great. Love how there is so much to do. For every age. The splash pads, multiple play grounds. Train the family can ride. The gardens. The boats on the water is the one thing I wouldn’t do again. It’s like they are not well maintained. We have rented other boats and they are much easier to move around on the water. It’s not very relaxing. We saw multiple turtles and when it began to rain a very large gator. Fun family day at the park.

Awesome park with workout stations (specifically my favorite brand Energi systems...I wish more parks had those). A farmer's market expected to start up again soon in (October?) every Wed morning!

What a privilege it is to have this park in your backyard. There plenty of activities to choose from like boat and bike rentals. You can also walk and jog bird watch, and encounter plenty of the local flora and fauna. Lots of activities for children too. We like to bike and jog at sunrise or sunset for some of the best nature views. Make sure to check the park website for rules and access details.

Very nice park with walking trails party gazebos bicycles and carts you can rent as well as restrooms and food services. You do have to pay for parking by the hour or by the day. Definitely worth going to.

It's an amazing park with trails including workout equipment, kids stuff, fishing spots, rental bikes and water buggys, fields, nature trails, a mini train and a beautiful garden. It's the perfect place.

Great place to visit I rode my bike through the paths. There Is bird watching, nature walks, play grounds and wet areas for the children, narrow gauge rail road, two lakes and a free park shuttle/tour cart. Enjoy your next visit at Lakes Park.

Very nice place. Lots of shade for picnics. The kids loved the playground. One splash pad was open. Unfortunately, the train was too much money for this family of 5.

Beautiful park, lots of fun for kids of all ages. Don't bug the wildlife. Get there early to avoid tons of people. Bikes and other stuff to rent, water park area is free. Parking is $5 all day, $1/hr, a welcome surprise compared to other parking😁

This park has so much to offer. There is the small train and railroad museum. You can rent bikes or watercrafts. There are trails. For kids I saw bounce house and splash pad.

Great place to walk or bike. It's like being at Disney's Animal World with the birds flying all around. Bicycle there almost every night!!! Caught another beautiful sunset at Lakes Park, most likely my last one until next Fall. Also rode all the Trails tonight. Another awesome evening at Lakes Park.

We Love this park!!!!! They have everything from boat and bike rentals, to splash pads, multiple playgrounds and walking paths. And don't forget the train ride and butterfly garden! This place has is all! You can spend all day here with some sun screen and a picnic tote. Photos can't even begin to show how big this place is. Highly recommend!!!

Large family park in the Ft Myers area which has a walking area so that you can exercise they also have bicycling, kayaking, and a play areas for children. You can fish, cookout reserve a pavilion area for family gatherings. They also have smaller areas for picnicking. Plenty of parking which you have to pay for the kayaking and bicycle can be rented. Plenty of wildlife to see also

Nice park with a lot of activities! Small train ride is good for kids and its not expensive. After that you can eat a good ice cream! Bike rent is available!

This park is great. The county could do better at concessions. Sadly the swan boats cost more per hour than a real boat. The maintenance people need improvement on social skills. My favorite part of this park is the train ticket staff and museum staff. In particular the member named Vickie was very kind to my wondering twins. Definitely a must visit. Maybe in the near future they will make a pet friendly area. Parking fee is not enforced..!?

What a terrific park. So clean and filled with fun activities. I went for the walking trails which were well marked and well maintained. Visited the Wednesday Farmers Market which had a wide variety of quality products. Worth the visit. The park is very family friendly with a number of play areas and a train ride. Overall it was beautiful.

As always, there is a variety of things to do. Very peaceful. Great walking paths, wildlife, bike rental, pedal car rentals, snack bar, swan boat rental, and play area for kids with so much to do. There is a little train that adults can also ride on. An amphitheater that holds concerts. Farmers market on Wednesday. The new memorial for fallen the sherriffs is beautiful. They even have a statue of Roscoe, the fallen police dog. This is a must-see located in the garden area. Thank you, sherriff Marceno.

Great place to go for a walk, right now being the summertime leave early like around 7:30 a.m., it starts getting really warm around 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. so you want to get there early to go for a nice walk or run, plenty of wildlife, everything from alligators to Turtles to iguanas, snakes fish all types of birds, also areas where you can rent bikes and other forms of transportation from anywhere from $18 up an hour

According to signage, "No Pets" allowed. Visiting the area. Our dogs were bummed after being in the car and hotel alot. Beautiful park. Finding this more and more. Idiots not picking up after their dogs I'm guessing. Too bad.

I have been visiting Lakes Park for 22 years, and this place has always remained very well kept. Lots of great family activities for all ages and a path to walk that includes fitness stops. The path is also suitable for biking, rollerblading, and skateboarding. You can rent a paddle boat, a surrey, or even ride the train when it's operational. They also have a community garden for those with a green thumb. The water park is still down from the hurricane, but they have upgraded the littlest kids' park equipment, so its more suitable for the smaller kids. They also have swings for the differently abled on both playgrounds.

👍👍 I never knew the name of this place before today. We always like to walk out on the rocks. Then take a walk on the beach. It's a nice bonus when the ferry is coming in or heading out.

👍👍 Went with a group of 4 and we really enjoyed our time. We all had different tastings (signature reds, signature whites, and the larger for-2 tasting) and no one had a wine they didn’t enjoy. We split a bottle of signature dry Pinot at the end and loved it as well. We bought a couple of bottles to go...
