Came down here to hunt white tails. Very beautiful part of Florida. Saw lots of wild life (except a buck of course!! Lol!) turkeys, black bears, hogs, gators, snakes, and tons of birds. Make sure you come with snake boots and a therma cell of something to repel the mosquitos. There is a lot of solitude down here and awesome trails. Would suggest that if you are a mountain biker to be aware of when hunters are out there and understand it is against the law for you to harass a hunter and no one cares about your liberal politics. We are out there to enjoy nature and help manage it so that future generations can continue to enjoy it.

One of the few spots in SWFL left to take your truck on the trails. As long as you don't go off the trail the park rangers are super cool. I don't have a complete badass truck to get through thick mud but there are still some really fun trails to have fun on. If you plan on getting out of the car, bring your bug spray!!! A little more fun in the summer when there is more rain to make it muddier. Not sure how much longer it will be open to the public.

Whether it's hiking, fishing or off-roading, this is THE place to see wild Florida! Horseback riding is another way to see the beautiful landscape and wildlife. Bear, panther, deer, big cypress squirrel, gators are just some of the things you can see, all within an hour's drive of Naples. Highly recommend!

I use to love this place. Hunting, fishing, camping, hiking all of it was great here. Now it's extremely over crowded and people going out there these days are just too much. The days of old are gone, the pigs are gone, most of the trails closed, and big bucks are few and far between. It's still very beautiful wilderness though and I will always have great memories of how it was. 😊

The Sabal Palm trail is clearly marked and well maintained. A quiet place for 7-8 mile hiking in February. Didn’t see other hikers.

Beautiful/old Florida. Terrain is sand/pine/Cyprus trees, trails are clear and we saw birds and deer.

Beautiful and some good off-roading. I’d be extremely careful doing this in a passenger car because the pot holes will absolutely swallow you. If you do decide to do it I’d make sure you have a spare tire as the dirt roads are not maintained. Saw a few gators and birds. Was hoping to see a bear or panther. As others have mentioned there are a lot of snakes. Be extremely careful.

I went here for the opening day of Bow season. Don't go here during Bow season if you think you're going to have a nice calm day. I've never seen so many trucks, it looked like a beer commercial!

Really big great for fishing driving around or camping i think you might be able to even hunt not sure on that thow. We have seen bears deers turkeys and rabbits. We have seen gators and lots of fish and turtles at on the rivers . They do charge a dollar something per perso. That you pay online but its totally worth it

miles of hiking and biking trails, with tons of wildlife. remember this is a multi-use area that has a daily fee. this means during hunting season blaze orange is recommended.

Be careful where you drive. Was on a road and fishing in a canal when fwc told me i was off trail!! This road was well traveled and no signs saying its off trail anywhere! Dingbat said, someone must have knocked sign down. Same dumb officer said the same thing last year! There was never a sign!!! Lots of people go there everyday. He was just bored!

Tried to walk the Sabal Palm Trail, but there was too much standing water about a quarter of a mile in. Must wear rubber boots to hike in Florida. 😫

👍👍 I had planned a trip out into big cypress to finish off my 8yo daughters spring break strong. I had planned on 14 miles of amazing Florida wilderness and an incredible dad/daughter bonding trip. What I had not planned on was an incredible experience with a ranger at oasis visitor center. Athena Gonz...
