So many great Trails here. My favorite is when I start off and stay to the right along the canal heading north. There is so much wildlife to see in a beautiful and quiet setting. I saw Gators, deer very large Turtles and many birds as well as other life flourishing there. I highly suggest you spend some time there and really explore!

It was great. I introduced a friend to the red trail today and it did not disappoint. We saw 3 deer, plenty of birds and had a great hike. The trail is well maintained and the added benches for viewing nature and resting is an added bonus.

Beautiful trails - great place to see gators, birds, snakes and other wildlife. Keep your dogs close, there are rattlesnakes and Cottonmouths. I’ve seen a 5 to 6 foot Eastern diamondback and even a rare Coral snake!

**03/17/21 update** Came back to this trail today to check it out after my last visit over a year ago. My mom and I did the red trail. Great area with shade, benches to sit, maintained paths and easy markings to follow. Nice area to hike but would be flooded and hot in summer months. Glad this area is being preserved. Would recommend and looks like more areas being added to hike. ***** What a beautiful day to go on a hike. This was our first time here and we hiked the red trail and some of the orange trail stopping at the parking lot near the lake. Easy to find, large parking lot with a bathroom. Trails are well marked and clear. Some sugar sand but manageable. Was pretty dry when we went, I'm sure its pretty wet during summer months. Some shade areas and a nice bench under a huge tree halfway. Summer months would be hot to hike, but it was a beautiful day to spend outside. Glad we found this trail. Thanks 2020 and Lee County/Collier County for preserving this area. Please continue preserving land for us all to enjoy nature.

I visited this trail last week and it's a awesome hike! There's a lot of ecosystems you will see from swamps to pine trees forest to wetlands. The trails are well marked and there is a huge parking lot with a porty potty and a map with information. I frequently hike CREW trails and this one is just as great. Word of advice go in morning or evening, too hot during the day. And the trails are heavy flooded so bring good boots and back up clothes.

Beautiful preserve, lots of trails... Rainy season make sure you are wearing your boots, biking trails are under water so plan on hiking... Lots of butterflies & dragonflies, eagles and more! Pollution (cans, bottles, plastic...) is all over the preserve, please pick up some when you are visiting!

Good hike. Dry and relatively easy. Some roots to watch out for. The path is narrow so single file walking is best. The path is clearly marked and maps are provided. Be sure to recycle them. It was petty quiet on a Saturday afternoon and we were the only ones there. Ran into one biker. He looked to be enjoying himself. This place is dog friendly. Keep them on a lead. There are no waste cans and a porta-a-John at the entrance.

If you are staying at Sanctuary RV resort this is a short ride down the road. There are plenty of trails in the preserve. We stayed on the gravel roads because we were on bikes. The gravel roads are in great shape.

The purple trail was nice and connects to crew rookery bird trails in collier county. 7/9/23 trail was not flooded.

Beautiful place to hike. Would be nice if it had a restroom at the parking area.

Nice 2 mile loop trail thru a rough area. Trail quite primitive at times so bicycling would be difficult. New gravel parking lot with a portable potty added in 2019.

This was my second visit (May 2022). Still a nice trail, the first time I was here a couple years ago was amazing. It still is, plenty of parking and well-kept trails with good signage. But the Wildfire destroyed a lot of trees and vegetation. There was a wildfire in March 2022 that burned 190 acres, there's a sign in the park that explains it, still worth a visit but not the same as it was. It'll take years for it to come back to how it was before the fire

Born and raised been going to this area since 2010 before it was even declared pen stran reserve. Seen it all out there from wild boar to deer to panthers and of course gators I've seen 2 bald eagles as well. If your walking in the woods be alart this wildlife area is very alive. Cover your scent walk against the wind so the wildlife can't pick up your scent go around 5 o clock that's when that area comes alive wildlife everywhere you just have to know where to look and become one with the land.
