    I love the whole experience, my kids really enjoyed the playing area. They had a Asian version of seafood love that twist ❤️.

    All and all a very nice, neat and well maintained restaurant with very polite and punctual waiters! Prices are a bit on the expensive side for the portion sizes but quite nice food. Sushi special on Wednesday, which usually attracts a crowd, otherwise a very quiet atmosphere.

    Sfaff members were kind, my children enjoyed the play area. A revamp is needed in the play area though, floor is worn out, and jungle gym is old with some things are broken

    The waitress actually knew what a vegan diet consists off, and could help me with what sushi to order, a welcome change for the east rand. The sushi was good and the views entertaining. Can recommend this for everyone, whether you want a quick bite or as an outing for the whole family. 🌼

    Tonight, 27th of August 2021,I decided to treat my wife to a decent fish meal. What a disaster. We stood outside the restaurant for 20 minutes in a queue before we were scanned and taken to a table. Then another 2o+minutes before the order was taken. Our drinks came 10minutes later and then an eternity later the food came. The food was fair to good, I took a bit of the peri peri sauce, about a teaspoon full and left the cap of the bottle. The sauce tasted sour so I did not eat any more. When I looked at the bottle I see that it was boiling as if it was fermented, it was boiling over as indicated in the attached photo. To get the attention of the manager was just as difficult. We definitely will not go back there due to the lack of service and bad experience we had tonight

    Would give a MINUS 5 if I could....What a joke of a restaurant, your lady manager is pathetic to be honest... food took longer than one hour to prepare and when we looked around other people who walked in 30 minutes later than us got their shusi before us (it was the same type of order). When we asked only to pay for what we recieved the manager had the audacity to argue with us and wanted us to wait there even longer !!! You will NEVER see us again, hope you know you lost a lot of customers in one night , I hope you will choose your staff better.

    Play area is small enough for me to feel comfortable enough to take my toddler and she gets a lucky packet each time! The play area assistant is the greatest. Specials every day, delicious food and lovely decor.

    Waiter was good, all was fine but the food was lacking. Due to loadshedding, no fried food could be ordered which cuts out half of the menu. Ordered Sole which came our burnt! The calamari tubes, also burnt and the prawns overcooked and everything was cold. Due to us being in a rush to make it to the movies in time, there were no time to send it back. Wouldn't come here anytime soon again

    We were at John Dory's on Sunday the 8th of December. What a disappointment. I asked the waitress specifically what the difference is between the R89 starter (two included) as apposed to ordering it separately. I asked if the portions are smaller and she assured me there's no difference. Well alas it arrives, no bread for the mussels or clam chowder and smaller portions. We then ordered a platter and the prawns and calamari combo. The combo arrived without the prawns, the coastal platter's one prawn was raw, not under cooked, RAW. The salad I ordered as a side serving was a few tomatoes, onions and lettuce. Nothing like the picture advertised in the menu. No olives, feta etc. We eventually got the prawns that had to be part of the combo (R119). The calamari was R129, I was still billed R129 instead of R119. It's not about R10, it's about rectifying your mistakes and being professional. Guess we won't be eating John Dory's again soon.

    Franchise food is never exciting, hake and chips worth the money you pay, just. The coleslaw that is served, with red cabbage and coriander, out of this world. Would order a kilogram at a time if possible.

    The food was superb and the waiter was exceptional however can management look into having more toilets? You can't have a restaurant that has a capacity to have over 50 people with only only toilet per gender. The toilets smell horrible the door is broken. They are not well maintained and they are just to few for the size of the restaurant hai.

    The food is always fresh and very delicious I've tried different dishes and my kids always have the prawns platter with rice & chips. They love the food so now it's a bi-monthly Friday date. The only seafood restaurant I frequent in East Rand after trying different places. My kids always insist TT serve us after bad service once in a while

    Was really looking forward to a great afternoon out with a nice hot meal. Was disappointed, our floor was cold when we received it. Lemon butter s ook sauce was as thick as melted cheese. Multiple dishes were at the kitchen just sitting there. Place was not that busy when we arrived. Everything was neat and clean with a good atmosphere. Food taste was good even when cold, not sure if we would go there again.

    Sadly, this John Dory's will never see us again. 3rd time we are here for half price sushi, where we wait more than 20 minutes for drinks and more than an hour for our food. 3 couples up and left due to zero service. Management is a huge problem, I suggest you change them and employ people that can and want to do the job, before the doors close!

    Attempted lunch with my kids and mum, unfortunately did not receive a great welcome or introduction. We sat for too long waiting for a menu even. We saw a couple come in after us , seated and handed menus by the host. Not cool or a great feeling. When waitress eventually came did not even apologise. Asked her if this was going to be the service level , were they busy- response was yes! So we opted to leave and indicated politely to the manager the reason ( we told him, he didn’t ask). No apology and not even a question or response! Absolute shocker. We went next door to Cappucinos completely different experience great food and service. Please work on yours John Dorys .

    1.Waiting 40+ minutes for food isn't cool - Got here 3:45, now it's 4:26 and we still waiting. 2. Dirt - I just asked the waiter to change the glasses because they are dirty.

    Hake was like rubber. Ask for a salad. Got a bowl of lettuce and 4 cherrie tomatoes. No buffalo prawns. No buffalo wings. First time not a good experience.

    I was there on Saturday 25 the waiter was horrible the service was horrible everything took so long our drinks our food we had to ask other waiters for ours coz he just desapeard in to thin air at the end of all the was a rat 🐀under our table 👀 wen I told them abt it thy were not surprised n thy didn't care about it
