This was a lovely surprise on our holiday road trip. We planned on staying a few minutes but stayed an hour. The village buildings have been arranged and labeled in Serbian and English so a self guided tour is easy. The atmosphere was charming and the air was cooled on the hot day by the shade of the poplar trees. We sat and tried some 'village food' at the restaurant. The beer was fabulous. You can pay by credit card too for entrance fee and anything you eat.

Very nice history trip. Shows us how early Serbians lived and pursued happiness. Worth going and spending time

There are many things to contribute to Staro Selo’s charm including the seemingly effortless way the museum is managed, the unfinished setting that only enhances the authenticity and the lived-in nature of the exhibits that you can see, touch and smell. It’s a museum without the stuffiness of one and a well-preserved slice of history without the odour of preservatives. Take time out to time-travel here.

Must see site when you are in this part of Serbia. You will be able to learn about simple life and to imagine how small was enough for people from that time. When you are here, you can enjoy in food from local restaurant. Home made apple cake and domestic coffee are perfect!

In the village of Sirogojno, 26 km from the tourist center Zlatibor, there is the only open-air museum in Serbia "Staro selo". On the location of five hectares, next to the church of St. Peter and Paul, old log cabins were pulled from all parts of Zlatibor, in order to be presented and kept here. A beautiful place to walk and see what the household looked like at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Within the museum there is a tavern where you can relax, have a drink and eat something. If you are tired you can spend the night because rooms are rented within the museum. In the souvenir shop you can find various wooden objects. A museum worth visiting because the concept is very interesting. Recommendation for the tour. The parking lot is located in front of the entrance to the church.

A small village museum to show how real houses were in old times. Unlike other museums you can touch and feel, experience this in real, with real surrounding. There are few souvenirs shops, local families selling woollen clothes, traditional crafts items and accessories. Local Rakia in small bottles, honey and other items sold in those shops.

Before the entrance there is a parking lot, and the entrance fee for the museum could be payed by card. It's a lovely place, many of the old houses being open. A same style restaurant could be found inside the museum area.

The road to the village is excellent. Parking is problematic because it is small and insufficient, but you can find a place along the main road. There are also shops and restaurants but they are usually full so arm yourself with patience if you plan to have lunch here. The museum itself is ok. It is quite spacious, but most of the houses, i.e. their themes are repeated. A good way to kill half an hour, an hour walking around. In any case, it's nice to see how people from these areas used to live.

Visited recently. Located next to the pine forest, it really leaves you with a sense that you time traveled to the different period. The exibition consists of numerous houses from the 18th and 19th century, with every building telling it's story. Also, don't miss the traditional "kafana". Local specialties such as "kacamak", "komplet lepinja", "kajmak" and similar are a must.

A great experience, the landscape is beautiful, and you will learn a lot! In some houses, you can interact with local people. There is a great souvenir place, and a restaurant (but you can take your picnic in the park)

A very nice museum with various types of huts used for various things. Living, baking, storing food, producing clothing... It's very well preserved and laid out in a way that makes it easy to see parts of it or all of it. When you get hungry, the most amazing tavern is in one of the huts

A fabulous place and one of a kind experience. First it's fascinating landscape you travel through to get to the place then the place itself. Remarkable insight into XIX century lifestyle of the region, more than pleasant hosts and even fantastic food served in the restaurant that is part of the museum. It's an amazing thing to see on its own, can't imagine how cooler it gets on days when they through events on folklore

Lovely place, the location and the road to the village is spectacular (Autumn Season). Road is bit narrow in some areas. Not far away, around 20 minutes drive , we visited the water fall.

Great place for family vacations! A must visit if you are close to Zlatibor, it is not very far, and it is really worth seeing. Going to this village really takes you back to another time of life in Serbia and the exhibitions keep your attention. The food is real homemade, traditional Serbian and very tasty☺️

👍👍 Amazing place. Nice road all the way to the waterfalls. From the entrance you can keep going down the stairs to see all the smaller waterfalls. Bear in mind that the walk back might not be as easy as going down. Entrance was 200rsd, and you get a map to see all of the waterfall.
