Indeed watching birds through boat was mesmerizing experience. Flamingos were the main attraction. We can see N categories of birds. Our guide was knowledgeable and and gave us good information about birds their categories. Winter is the main season where birds visits this place from different countries/continents. Indeed it was the best experience.

Me and my family had a memorable excursion in Bhigwan bird sanctuary. Homemade lunch was very nice. 2-3 types of fish dishes were available, fresh and yum. Riding with Pramod in his boat was also a delight. He gave us basic details about all the bird species available in the sanctuary. We missed the flamingoes though which were not available at the site due to more dam water. However, there are abundant number of other species which are equally exotic to watch. Special highlight was the dance of the starling birds which turn in a huge group after sunset for about 20 minutes. Pramod guided us well in advance to come and enjoy the same in the evng hours. It was absolutely stunning. I would highly recommend the birds enthusiasts or otherwise to explore this sanctuary with Pramod and team.

Birdwatching has always helped me to keep good physical and mental health. It has also helped me to connect with nature and observe bird’s behaviors. Bhigwan is the nearest birding place for punkers and I keep visiting this place multiple times a year. 'Bhigwan Bird WildLife Sanctuary' is one of the best places to enjoy birdwatching, boating and Photography. They enable us to watch birds, know more about their habitat, and enjoy boating, photographing water birds & raptors. It was a wonderful experience during my last visit to this place on 4th December 2022. The best part of this place is proximity from highway. Also multiple bird spotting areas are closer to this place which reduces boat travel time and increases chance to watch variety of birds. There are multiple young enthusiast guides available at this place. They do have expert knowledge of birds, bird’s behavior and how to align boats for viewing and photography. They are very well versed with entire water area and photography opportunities. These guides are also aware of few nearby forest locations where one can site grassland wild animals and raptors. 'Bhigwan Bird WildLife Sanctuary' also has very good set up for pre-wed, post-wed and occasion based photography. They have created superb theme based setups which is attracting lot of newly married couples who want to create their interesting and attractive pictures. There are few eating place within 100 meters of this location and we had our lunch (Bhigwan Fish thali, the Macchithali) at Hotel Mastyam and food was amazingly superb. Over all it was one of my best memorable birding & photography experience. Thanks to 'Bhigwan Bird WildLife Sanctuary'!!

Must visit for bird photography, especially around sunrise and sunset .. Bhigwan is a very small town, so facilities especially wrt staying etc are not setup as they are usually for many tourist destination. Yet connectivity from Pune is excellent, thru national hwy leading to Solapur. There are few boating points with knowledgeable local guides like Pramod who knows when and where to spot birds and can rely on their knowledge.. Local guides also help with accommodation, food etc, yet given forest land and regulations, unlikely to have this place developed as major tourist/resort centric way.. Its in a way good, as migratory birds prefer uninterrupted habitat . This year, Flemingos are less (With help of Pramod could spot them in a group of ~ 11), last year there were many more aparently.. Yet wildlife photography is always unpredictable. Especially true for migratory birds, weather and several other factors like backwater release from ujani dam contributing..

The trip to Bhigwan Bird sanctuary on 10th dec 2023 was both adventurous and rewarding as we could see a wide variety of migratory birds gracing the place with their presence . For starters ,We could see a big group of 18 🦩 flamigoes within 5-10 minutes of our boat ride . But like they say good things take time , for our next batch of 50-70 🦩 flamigoes we have to maneuver around for 25-30 minutes .But the sight and the flight followed by sky formations was breathing and worth the wait . Lastly , I would like to appreciate efforts and help extended by Pramod in enabling our safe boat ride , to taking us to locations where we could see 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩 and guiding us the way to-fro to the sanctuary. You need a good guide at such places . , which Pramod was indeed . Helpful, chatty ,and passionate about his job. Keep up tej godo work Pramod.
