Established in the late 16th century, Silang Church, also called Our Lady of Candelaria is one of the oldest in Cavite. For me it has a common facade, however, what makes it shine among the rest is its beautiful retabulo. The carved images are really outstanding and a must see. This church was the 5th church in our visita Iglesia this 2018.

One of the many old churches in the historical city of Cavite. Our Lady of Candelaria is their patron saint. Such nice architectural dome made of wood. The walls holds I’m sure lots of good memories for the people Silang, Cavite. Always in awe and at peace visiting old Churches, they’re the mute witness to sad and happy events of the locals.

I think it is One of the oldest church in Cavite as you will see on the external aspect of the building but once your inside you'll be mesmerized by its unique design specially their altars. A lot of worshippers during Sunday Mass. Worth visiting....

Iconic church in Silang under the patroness of Our Lady of Candelaria. Parishioners had a 3 day fiesta celebration culminating in the high mass presided by His Excellency Bishop Rey Evangelista. The whole street leading to the church is very festive and filled with all kinds of merchandise.

Huge parking space. Safe but they charge P20 per hour. Nice historical church that you must visit. Centrally located at the heart of town of Silang Cavite. Events place are so many here. Perfect as wedding church venue.

✅Must visit This church is really stunning. It looks simple outside but when I entered the main door, I felt the different era. I didn't get the chance to take a photo inside because we are having a Sunday mass when we were there. There's a lot of people but not too crowded during the mass. They have a big parking area. But a slight uneasy to push the wheelchair since the ground are made of bricks. It is also beside the Police Station. You may also park outside, I just gave Kuya a tip for helping us to park near the gate. Our dog is with us but we stayed outside infront of the main door. Not sure if pets are allowed inside. After the Sunday mass we proceeded to our next destination Tagaytay, it's just 20mins drive.

The municipality got the Guiness World Record for the Longest Candle Lit in Relay, last January 22, 2023 and it happened in front of the church.

Every year we see to it to have attended mass on month of feb.this year i noticed that the parking are spacious.mass attendees are relatively high.

When we went in this church for visita Iglesia,they are already closing the church. The caretakers gladly accompany us inside the church to finish our 14th station.

I always wanted to attend mass here more often. Hope this pandemic will soon be over so that we can go to this church as often as before.

Year 1595 according to historical marker. It was century older than UST in 1611. Located beside Silang Municipal Hall, the church continues to stand in the modern times. The area was wide, yet due to health protocols, mass will be celebrated thru live official page, but may visit physically with few required mass goers.

Beautifully serene, clean. Truly a pilgrimage site. Just a 1.5 hour drive from Quezon City.

Beautiful, well-maintained Church. Perfect for a Marian Pilgrimage. It has a splendid Roccoco-style Retablo, made from wood, faux white marble finish. We left Manila at 9:40am, passing through the shortcut near Southwoods Mall, entering Spilmer Village. This saved us 15minutes. From there, just about less than one hour more. We travelled for only 1 hour and 25 minutes on a May 12, 2019, Sunday. We prayed intensely for a peaceful election, and, for deserving winners as trustworthy civil servants.

Beautiful church in the heart of Silang, Cavite with a nice tableau and altar. The wood ceiling gives it a sense of warmth.

Has historical value though it has already been renovated interiorly it still mirror it's rich past.

This church is wonderful! The retablos are beautiful and well preserved. Such a shame I was told that I need to ask permission from the Parish office before faking some pictures. The exterior is typical baroque style here in the Philippines. The facade, like some of the other spanish colonial era churches, was defaced by an ugly canopy.

The church needs renovation especially tge rest rooms. The staff here are very accommodating.

The church interior is well ventilated. Bearable for those wearing gowns and suits.

Amazing "Retablo"

A declared National Cultural Treasure. It is one of Cavite’s oldest stone churches. The parish was established by the Franciscans in 1590s but managed by Jesuits later. It is home to the devotion of Our Lady of Candles, La Nuestra Señora de Candelaria of Upland Cavite. The ornate Rococo wooden retablos compensate the simplistic facade the church has. Masses here felt homey. The challenge here is parking space.

Great place and very solemn

My family and I already visited this place twice last 2 Christmas. The decors, ornaments, the lightings were beautifully arranged. I don't literally attend in this church, but whenever i pass by, you see traffic, lots of vendor and people chit chatting, going in and out of the chapel. But I guess this is just normal.

The mass experience is ok with the homily being relevant with concrete examples of applicable teachings and is brief and concise making the message clear and remembered. I gave 4 instead of 5 stars due to the level of maintenance of the facility needing improvement.

Proud Silangueno here. The old Church of Silang will celebrate its 425 Years as a parish. It is the oldest extant church structure of the Diocese of Imus best featured with its exquisite 17th century retablos. A declared National Cultural Treasure by the National Museum in 2016 and awarded in 2017.

The place is a sanctuary and a place of tranquility and contemplation. I just hope that the threat of Islamic extremists would be completely eradicated throughout the country so that we could go back to the good old days when Catholic churches are open all day and people could pray inside without any fear of an attack from vicious and ruthless murderers.
